Chapter 99: The End of World Government II

Shanks tilted his head slightly, his expression inscrutable. His vibrant red hair caught the sunlight, making him seem almost otherworldly. He swirled the sake bottle lazily, the liquid sloshing inside as if mirroring the tides around them. His crew, though seemingly relaxed, kept a subtle eye on the interaction. Ben Beckman leaned against the mast, his cigarette smoldering as he studied the agent with quiet intensity, while Yasopp absentmindedly cleaned his rifle, though his sharp gaze flickered toward the visitor every now and then.

"You're asking me to pick a side," Shanks said finally, his voice calm but carrying a weight that made the agent flinch ever so slightly. "That's not really my style."

The agent cleared his throat, choosing his next words carefully. "With all due respect, Red-Haired-sama, the World Government values your neutrality, but this situation is unlike any other. If the Neo Marines and Whitebeard succeed, it could destabilize the entire world. Surely, someone with your sense of responsibility can see the need to prevent such chaos."

Shanks chuckled softly, his hand resting lightly on the hilt of his saber. "Chaos, huh? Funny, that's what the World Government's been calling balance for centuries." His gaze sharpened, though his smile didn't falter. "Tell me something. What makes you think I'd want to help maintain your version of peace?"

The agent hesitated, unsure how to respond. Shanks stood, his full height and commanding presence forcing the man to look up at him. Despite his easygoing demeanor, there was an unmistakable edge to Shanks, a quiet authority that could silence even the boldest of men.

"I've made it clear before, and I'll say it again," Shanks said, his tone firm now. "I'm neutral in this matter. I won't join Dave, but I won't side with you either. I've seen enough of your 'justice' to know it's not something I'll fight for."

The agent, sensing the finality in Shanks' words, made one last attempt. "If I may, Red-Haired-sama, your neutrality could be interpreted as tacit support for the Neo Marines. The World Government—"

Shanks cut him off, his smile fading as a subtle but undeniable tension filled the air. "Don't mistake my neutrality for weakness," he said, his voice low and unyielding. "I stay out of this war because I choose to, not because I fear you or anyone else. If the World Government decides to test my patience, you'll find out just how quickly I can end this neutrality."

The agent took an involuntary step back, his confidence crumbling under the weight of Shanks' words. Ben Beckman exhaled a plume of smoke, his calm voice breaking the silence. "You heard him. Best get moving before you overstay your welcome."

Recognizing that he had pushed as far as he dared, the agent bowed deeply. "Thank you for your time, Red-Haired-sama. I'll relay your message to my superiors."

As the agent turned and departed, the tension on the ship eased. Shanks sat back down, resuming his relaxed posture as if nothing had happened. "Well, that was interesting," he mused, taking another sip of sake.

Ben Beckman chuckled. "You handled that better than most would've, Captain. Think they'll actually leave you alone?"

Shanks grinned, his carefree nature returning. "Doubt it. But it doesn't matter. Let them try—if they're foolish enough to come back, we'll show them why it's a bad idea to mess with the Red-Haired Pirates."

As the Cipher Pol agents returned with the news that neither of the Four Emperors agreed to side with them, the elders erupted in anger.

"Bastard! Kill them all, along with Dave too!" one of the Elders roared, slamming his fist down as they began preparations for war—the final war, one that would decide the fate of the outside world.

The war was going to be fought in a way that everyone knew it would—at Marineford. Dave understood this, and that's exactly why he planned to take the fight directly to them.

The Whitebeard Pirates, led by Marco aboard the iconic Moby Dick, set sail once more. This time, they were not alone; the Neo Marines sailed alongside them. This wasn't just a skirmish; they were preparing for a full-scale war where no one would be treated as cannon fodder. Everyone was ready to march to Mary Geoise and face the World Government's forces head-on.

On the World Government's side, remnants of the old Marines who had chosen to stay loyal to the regime prepared to fight alongside them. They were determined to protect the status quo, even as they faced a coalition unlike anything the world had ever seen.

The seas churned with tension as fleets from all corners of the world made their way toward what would soon become the battleground of the greatest war in history. Dave, aboard the Neo Marine flagship, stood at the helm, his gaze fixed on the horizon. Beside him, Marco and Zephyr strategized, while Tony Stark monitored the advanced systems that had been installed across the fleet. This was not just a fight; this was the culmination of years of planning and a lifetime of ambition.

The Moby Dick, with its iconic whale figurehead, sailed proudly alongside the Neo Marine ships. Marco, now the leader of the Whitebeard Pirates, exuded an air of calm resolve. His azure flames danced around his shoulders as he addressed the crew.

"Remember, this isn't just about us. This is about changing the world, ensuring that no one else suffers under the tyranny of the World Government," Marco said, his voice carrying over the deck. The crew responded with cheers, their morale bolstered by the knowledge that they were fighting for something bigger than themselves.

Admiral Kizaru, with his characteristic laziness, adjusted his coat and muttered, "Looks like it's going to be a bright and flashy fight… as usual." Despite his nonchalant demeanor, there was an edge to his tone that betrayed the seriousness of the situation.

Meanwhile, the World Government was in chaos. The Five Elders, seated in their grand chamber, issued commands with grim determination. Cipher Pol agents scurried to and fro, relaying orders to the remnants of the Marines and their allied forces.

"Deploy all available resources. We will not let these rebels undermine eight centuries of order!" one of the Elders snarled, slamming his fist on the table.

At Mary Geoise, the Celestial Dragons were in a frenzy, demanding extra protection and questioning the competency of the World Government. Guards and soldiers rushed to secure the sacred city, fortifying it with everything they had.
