Chapter 91: Marineford War
But unknown to them, Whitebeard's approach was vastly different this time. The rejuvenated pirate was determined to fight smarter, not harder. Only his most trusted captains, along with the leaders of the allied pirate crews, would accompany him to Marineford. A select group of 50 warriors—his elite—would be aboard his flagship. No massive armada, no hordes of men. Just powerhouses prepared to bring the fight directly to the Marines.
The war was about to begin, but with this twist in plans, no one could predict its outcome.
Would the Marines' overwhelming numbers prevail, or would the might of Whitebeard's new strategy and Dave's unpredictable involvement turn the tides in an unexpected direction? The pieces were in motion, and the world stood on the brink of a historic clash.
The week flew by in a tense haze, with the Marines meticulously preparing for the execution of Portgas D. Ace. The atmosphere at Marineford was electric, a mix of anticipation and dread as the momentous event approached.
The execution platform was set, just as it had been in the original timeline. Ace knelt between two executioners, bound and stoic, his expression unreadable as he faced the gathered Marine forces and the growing audience of onlookers. Fleet Admiral Sengoku stepped forward, his voice booming over the tense silence.
"Ace, tell the world—who is your father?"
Without hesitation, Ace lifted his head, defiance gleaming in his eyes. "Edward Newgate—Whitebeard—is my father."
The declaration rippled through the gathered crowd, causing murmurs to erupt. But Sengoku's expression remained stern, unimpressed. He raised a hand to silence the chatter, then spoke again, his words heavy with revelation.
"That is a lie."
The silence that followed was deafening. Sengoku's gaze pierced through the crowd as he turned back to Ace. "Your true father... is none other than Gol D. Roger!"
Gasps rippled through the crowd, and Ace's head shot up, his eyes burning with defiance and shame. "Whitebeard is my father! No one else!" he roared, his voice breaking through Sengoku's declaration.
Gasps of shock erupted from the Marine forces and spectators alike. Many stared at Ace as if seeing him for the first time, their disbelief plain on their faces. The name of the Pirate King hung in the air like an unspoken curse, its weight pressing down on everyone present.
Garp under the platform clenched his fist as he murmured 'Forgive me Ace', tears streaming from his face as he clenched his fists hard.
Ace gritted his teeth, his head bowed low. The truth was already out, and there was no taking it back. "So what if he was?" Ace's voice cut through the noise, filled with both anger and pain. "Roger being my father doesn't change a thing. Whitebeard is the one who raised me! He's my real father!"
Sengoku ignored Ace's words, turning back to the crowd with a grim expression. "This is why we cannot allow him to live. As the Pirate King's son, Ace is a symbol of the past that must not be allowed to thrive. Today, justice will prevail!"
The Marines erupted into cheers, but the atmosphere remained heavy. Those who knew Whitebeard's power couldn't shake the feeling that this was far from over.
Somewhere in the distance, beyond the horizon, Whitebeard's flagship surged forward with purpose, accompanied by the select few he had chosen to join him. Standing at the prow, Whitebeard's youthful face was a mask of determination. At his side, Dave stood silently, his calm expression masking the storm of plans and calculations in his mind.
The battle for Ace—and the fate of the world—was about to begin.
" Today we will Kill Ace, and destroy the legacy of Pirate King Roger " Sengoku said once gain as the Marines cheered, while Sengoku looked around wondering why hasn't White beard has arrived yet.
The tension in the air was thick, but before anyone could react further, the ground beneath Marineford trembled. It wasn't just the sea quaking—it was the arrival of something more. "Gururururu!" The haunting laugh rolled across the ocean like thunder.
The man they feared the most, the man they believed to be in his twilight years, had come—Whitebeard. But something was different.
Emerging from the thick mist on the Moby Dick, Whitebeard's presence was overwhelming, his youthful form a shocking contrast to the rumors of his frailty. His captains stood behind him, equally battle-hardened and ready. The world froze as Whitebeard raised his hand, gripping his Bisento with a smirk.
"You Marines..." Whitebeard's voice boomed, his eyes fierce. "...made one mistake. You touched my family."
Beside him, Dave leaned casually against the railing, his calm demeanor hiding the storm within. "Let's not waste time, old man. We've got a world to shock."
"Impossible! How can this be?" Sengoku was the first to exclaim, his voice filled with disbelief as he stared at the young Whitebeard standing before him. "No, this is all your doing, Hell Prince Dave!" Sengoku shouted, grinding his teeth in frustration.
The Admirals, too, rose from their seats, their usually composed expressions betraying unease. They couldn't hide their fear as they looked at the rejuvenated Whitebeard. They knew all too well the destruction this man was capable of even in his old age. Now, seeing him in his prime, their apprehension was palpable. This was no false rumor—this was reality. The man standing before them was nothing short of a walking calamity.
At Mary Geoise, the Five Elders also stood in shock.
"This... how is this possible?" one of them muttered, his voice trembling.
"Could he have discovered the secret of the Phoenix Fruit?" an elderly voice suggested, but another quickly shook his head.
"If that were the case, others would have achieved it before him. Not even Whitebeard himself managed this in his lifetime," he reasoned.
"Then how is this possible?" one Elder demanded, the room heavy with tension as none could provide an answer.
The truth remained a mystery, and the world was about to face the terrifying reality of Whitebeard's rebirth.
