Chapter 116: Destroyer II
Sif, on the other hand, shook her head in frustration. Determined, she moved swiftly, scaling a nearby house. As the Destroyer focused on Thor, Sif reached the top, and with a leap, she launched herself into the air. Her spear pierced the Destroyer's neck, pinning it down. The light emanating from the Destroyer flickered, and its movements slowed as it struggled.
Thor watched, relieved to see Sif's successful strike, but Sif wasn't finished. She summoned more power, using her strength and magic to twist the spear, causing the light within the Destroyer to flicker and wane. Standing on its chest, she readied herself for another strike, but just as she did, the Destroyer retaliated. A powerful blast of energy shot from its hand, sending Sif flying backward.
Thor rushed toward her, with a worried expression. "Sif, it's enough," he said, his voice hoarse as he knelt beside her. She was coughing, clearly injured, but still alive.
"No, I could still fight," Sif muttered, her voice weak as she tried to sit up.
Thor shook his head firmly. "No, you did what needed to be done. You're alive and you need to be."
He stood and pushed forward, determination in his eyes. The Destroyer was preparing to fire another laser blast, but Thor raised his hand, stopping it with sheer willpower. "Enough. This is my fight," he said, his voice loud and commanding.
"Let them go," he added, turning back to Sif and the others. "They're innocent. Your fight is with me."
Meanwhile, Natasha, standing nearby, spoke up. "That robot is powerful, but I could easily defeat it. I've seen its power."
Jane, Darcy, and the others looked at her curiously. "Then why don't you go fight it?" Darcy asked.
Natasha shrugged. "Thor forbade us from intervening. It's his battle," she replied with a smirk, while Dave simply nodded in agreement.
Back on Thor's side, he glared at the Destroyer. "You won't get anything by killing these innocents," he said, his voice steady but filled with anger.
The Destroyer paused momentarily, seemingly analyzing the situation. Thor stood tall, his eyes locked on the robot as he took a deep breath. "Please, I beg you—leave them alone."
The Destroyer helmet closed and turned as if leaving, Thor sighed seeing this, thinking it ended.
But suddenly, the Destroyer turned and unleashed a massive energy wave, knocking Thor back. He was sent flying through the air, crashing into a nearby building as the shockwave ripped through the area.
"No!" Jane screamed as she rushed to Thor, who lay unconscious on the ground.
"I'm sorry, I failed," Thor muttered weakly as Jane knelt beside him.
"No, you're not lost," Jane said, shaking her head. "Yes, I am... but at least you're safe," he said, his voice trailing off as he closed his eyes.
"Thor!!" Jane cried, but before she could finish, he fell unconscious.
The others stood around, watching in silence, as Loki, from his distant vantage point in Asgard, saw what had happened. He scowled before turning the Destroyer back, signaling its retreat. The massive robot began to leave the area, its mission abandoned.
As Jane continued to tend to Thor, Sif and the others stood solemnly, their expressions full of concern. Dave, however, remained calm, watching them with a detached curiosity. He wondered why they were so upset over Thor being unconscious. He was alive, after all.
He turned to Natasha, who merely shrugged. "Don't ask me," she said, her tone flat as she observed the others.
"Hey, what's that?" Darcy suddenly pointed ahead, her voice laced with curiosity. Everyone turned to see something emerging from the shadows through the clearing dust.
"I guess he wasn't as close to his deathbed as we thought..." Dave muttered, a hint of amusement in his voice as he observed the situation.
It was Mjonir coming here as Thor unconsciously summoned it, his earlier bravado has already earned back his hammer now he is once again worthy after trying to against Destroyer with his mortal body.
The Mjonir flying through landed in Thor hands as the impact pushed Jane back and lighting begin to coalesced around him.
The ground trembled slightly as a faint energy ripple emanated around Thor. The surrounding energy began to shift, darkening, as cracks of lightning surged through the air. Suddenly, a suit of armor materialized around him, the glowing light of its formation enveloping his body. Slowly, Thor rose to his feet, fully healed, his powerful aura radiating once more.
Sif and the others stared in awe as Thor stood tall, now clad in his newly-formed armor, a symbol of his resilience and power.
Destroyer also turned back as he saw this, and then begin to return for another fight.
"I'm not done yet," Thor said, his voice deep and commanding, as he stood ready to face whatever threat came next.
Thor twirled his hammer and hurled it with immense force, sending it crashing into the Destroyer. The impact sent the massive machine flying back, crumbling under the force of Thor's might.
"Yes, bet you can't do that!" Darcy said, looking smugly at Natasha, who simply raised an eyebrow, not saying a word.
"Guess you'll have to prove yourself," Dave chimed in, watching the exchange with mild amusement. Natasha, however, remained quiet, her expression unreadable.
"I am not interested in childish show off" She said as Dave shrugged "But I am" he said as he stepped forward.
Thor stood tall, his grip tightening on Mjolnir. "Your time is up," he declared, his voice deep and powerful. Dave smiled slightly, as he reached him, he grabbed his cape as he tossed him back "no, your time is up" he said as his own hands glowing as he focused on his next move.
With a small murmur of concentration, he channeled the power of the Whitebeard template. The air around him shifted as he infused his fist with overwhelming energy.
"Fist of Devastation!" Dave shouted, unleashing a powerful punch that sent shockwaves through the air. His fist cracked the atmosphere as it looked like a mirror is cracking.
Sif, who was standing by, watched in awe as the sheer magnitude of Dave's power obliterated not just the surrounding area but even the space. She stood her ground, but even she had to brace herself against the force of the blow.
