Chapter 1352: Assault on the Base
The three men were dozing off, but when they heard a noise at the door, they immediately opened their eyes.
When they saw Hua Hu, the expressions on the three men's faces changed slightly, and they all stood up: "Boss Hu."
Lin Chen nodded while clasping his hands behind his back: "The boss doesn't trust you, so he sent me to check. You are indeed slacking off here. Do you even realize how tense the situation is right now?"
"There are secret sentinels outside; if anything happens, they're the ones who will notice first," one of them muttered quietly.
"What did you mutter?" Lin Chen's gaze turned cold.
"I—I didn't say anything," the man hurriedly replied.
Although Boss Hu looked very refined, he was known for his ruthless heart and harsh hands, making everyone fear him.
Lin Chen snorted coldly and circled around the surveillance room, then pointed at the beam, saying, "Come over here. Did none of you notice this major security risk? What if the enemy comes in through here?"
"A security risk?" The three men were stunned for a moment and came to the spot designated by Lin Chen to look upwards.
The beam was completely empty, not showing any signs of a security risk.
But just as the three men were bewildered, Lin Chen took action.
"Bang! Bang! Bang!" With a few dull thuds, the three men almost simultaneously fell to the ground.
Lin Chen dragged the three men into a hidden place and then entered the control room.
This control room was responsible for the security monitoring and the switches for the traps of the entire base, making it a critical location.
Along the way, Lin Chen encountered seven or eight sentinels, and it would have been impossible for him to sneak in silently if he hadn't disguised himself as Hua Hu.
The trap switches were currently on, and looking at the series of switch buttons, Lin Chen couldn't help but gasp.
If Lin Chen had rushed in earlier without encountering Hua Hu, even if he occupied the base, casualties would have been heavy.
Lin Chen directly sabotaged the switches, ensuring they couldn't be turned on again, and then sent a signal to Anna and the team.
The members of the Dragon Squad approached several target houses under the cover of night.
A house at the village entrance guarded the roadside; it's an essential path into the village, so to launch an attack without alerting anyone, the Dragon Squad needed to remove this obstacle silently.
"I'll take out that guard and launch the main assault," Anna said solemnly.
"Captain Anna, it's too risky for you to go alone. Why don't we send two brothers from our side to go with you?" suggested the leader of the Yun City Dragon Squad.
Anna smiled faintly, "Don't worry, it's a piece of cake; I can handle it."
As she spoke, Anna's figure flickered and slipped into the bushes, disappearing into the night after a few deft moves.
She reappeared next to the corner of the wall of the foremost secret sentinel.
Seeing Anna's movements, the Dragon Squad leader clicked his tongue in admiration.
Anna cautiously approached the window, from inside which came a sound of snoring.
It was clear that someone inside had fallen asleep first, unable to resist.
Near the window, someone was peering outside.
The eight people in this house had divided their duties, with two posted at each guard.
However, his colleague at this post was a heavy sleeper and couldn't help but doze off after a short time.
"Lazy pig, Tian Tian only knows how to fool around with women; sleep your life away," the man cursed a few times.
Despite his laziness, he was very loyal, which was why he hadn't awakened his colleague.
The lad sat by the window, observing the outside with a cigarette in his mouth.
But little did he dream that someone was hiding right under the window.
The window was ajar; the guard had just completed a task yesterday and been assigned to this secret sentinel, and they had stayed up half the night playing cards, so now was the time for sleep.
He yawned, feeling as though his eyes were fighting.
Just then, Anna moved suddenly.
The lad was just about to take a nap with his eyes closed when he suddenly saw someone appear before him.
Anna, like a ghost, appeared out of nowhere, startling him.
As he realized the figure before him was human and was about to resist, Anna's hand was already covering his mouth, and the dagger was fiercely drawn across his throat.
Blood spurted, and the man didn't even have time to make a sound before falling to the ground.
The other seven people in the house were still asleep as Anna, following the same method, quietly approached and silenced two more enemies.
These two died very unjustly; they didn't even know how they died, murdered in their dreams.
But by this time, someone was finally awakened.
Although Anna moved quietly, there was still some sound.
"Who's there?" The person opened his eyes, saw Anna, and instantly called out.
With a single shout, the other four were instantly awakened.
The person who made the sound barely had time to react before a flash of a knife struck him down.
Beside him, the person had just gotten up but found a cold gleam was already at his throat.
Swoosh!
Blood splattered, and the person also fell to the ground.
By this time, the two others finally reacted and hurriedly pulled out their guns.
But as soon as their hands touched the triggers, Anna's knife had already reached them.
As a result, all they saw was a blur before they collapsed to the ground.
The last person was almost stupefied, terrified by the scene before him.
His reaction was quick; he didn't resist but desperately ran towards the door.
He knew resistance meant certain death, while fleeing offered the slimmest chance of survival.
However, just as he reached the door, a chilling wind struck from behind, and a dagger lodged in his chest, causing him to fall.
Under the moonlight, the blood-soaked knife in Anna's hand emitted a chilling coldness.
Not far away, the Dragon Squad leader watching through binoculars couldn't help but inhale sharply.
Such speed; it was incredibly fast.
Initially, when he saw the higher-ups had sent a young woman, he didn't think much of it. Now he realized Anna's skill wasn't exaggerated.
He barely saw brief flashes of the knife through the binoculars, and then everyone in the house had fallen.
Anna killed all eight in the house in less than a minute from the start of her action to the last man's death.
The efficiency left the leader in disbelief.
As he watched the blood pooling from the bodies, Anna felt inexplicably sick.
Especially with an indescribable sensation rising inside her.
The feeling was bizarre, giving her a strange pleasure.
Despite that, she disliked the feeling; killing was just an unavoidable task for her.
Calming her mind, Anna made a hand signal, and the leader finally recovered from his shock. He whispered to his subordinates, "Move."
As the Dragon Squad's main force charged in, the previously silent village suddenly erupted with gunfire and shouts.
The Dragon Squad was prepared, while the opposing side scrambled to react, with the battle quickly becoming one-sided.
