Chapter 483 - 477
Chapter 483: Chapter 477
Finn Lewis didn’t face any difficulties here, signing all the related contracts by the second day.
Once settled, he made a call to Great Lewis. Having stayed with his grandfather for a few days, when Great Lewis arrived, Finn received him in his grandfather’s small courtyard.
To be honest, after entering the house, which was quite rustic for this town, Great Lewis was somewhat speechless. He never expected that despite his wealth, Finn’s grandfather lived in such conditions. However, seeing how unaffected Finn was living here, Great Lewis’s surprise ultimately dissipated.
Finn also wished for his grandfather to have a better life, but he wasn’t certain what a better life would mean to the elderly. His grandparents were in excellent health. They began drinking the Yinwu tea slightly late, but given their current condition, they would undoubtedly live past 100.
Despite their tough lifestyle—Finn’s 78-year-old grandfather raising sheep and rabbits, growing food in the courtyard, cutting grass for the sheep and rabbits in the summer—Finn’s grandfather was very healthy. Before starting on the tea, his health indices were better than those of some in their fifties; even the doctor marvelled at his health. Hence, Finn felt that his grandfather might not adapt well if moved to Celeston City, though what kind of life the elderly want is really hard to define.
“When can the construction crews start the work?” Finn asked Great Lewis.
“It may take another two months as we first need to identify a survey team to conduct location scouting,” Great Lewis answered, somewhat helplessly.
“No need, I have all the geographical data, both needed and not. It’s all substantial and professional. Just follow it during construction,” Finn decisively answered.
Geological prospecting is a crucial part of early-stage engineering and time cannot be rushed, but Finn skipped this since his location data was advanced by several years. The information was far more accurate than current geological data.
“In that case, as long as the basic infrastructure is ready, we could start preliminary construction in ten days,” Great Lewis decisively responded after some thought.
“No problem, complete the construction projects in phases, as we discussed. I need efficiency, so please subcontract projects to other companies, as long as they ensure quality. I also need you to build an elite construction crew, preferably well-educated individuals. Salary is not an issue,” Finn mentioned after some more thought.
“Alright, I will help you with that. You also don’t need many people, approximately 2000. Once the construction is almost done, I promise to have an elite team ready,” Great Lewis decisively promised.
Great Lewis was not short on money. After completion, he stood to make at least tens of billions in profit—a position no one would reject. All this considered a subcontracted project. If he’d taken on the entire job, the profit would have been even higher, but Finn’s emphasis on efficiency meant not everything could be handled by one company. In which case, basic construction could end up taking five or six years.
“In a few days, a batch of advanced engineering equipment will arrive to assist in your construction,” Finn explained cheerfully.
Many new techniques will be used in this construction, all brought by the T900. Finn had approximately 150,000 credits left. Using 5500 credits each, he planned to redeem 100 T900s. Including the base T900 in Proudly Nation and another 100 called from another temporal dimension, Finn would have 200 T900s.
If the 200 T900s were used without restriction, the entire project could likely be completed in six months. Discarding the T900s, Finn planned to call in 200 T800s to operate the T900s, which would bolster his construction company.
These plans would leave Finn with less than 800,000 credits. Infrastructure for the base and airport would take up an additional 500,000 credits, leaving less than 300,000 credits remaining.
Finn spent half a month in Bale City to finish this work. The first batch of workers and machinery were all gathered, and the initial building materials were being delivered to start the initial construction.
Just after the construction began, Finn received another update from Henry giving him much to think about.
“… Master, we have found Nicolas Tesla,” was Henry’s first message. Finn didn’t react at first, but he quickly realized what Henry meant!
This message undoubtedly came from another dimension, as Nicolas Tesla had long since passed in the current one. Many might not know who Tesla is; however, a quick search would reveal Tesla to be a genius of science. He is arguably one of the creators of the modern energy system and a true scientific and engineering deity!
Tesla was a real giant, often being compared to Leonardo Davinci in the West, and surpassing Albert Ainsworth. He made over 1000 inventions in the fields of science and engineering during his lifetime, many of which were ahead of their time!
