Chapter 328: I Won't Force You_1
Ning Fuxun came alone.
"Brother Lin Feng, is my precious daughter alright?" As soon as he saw Lin Feng, Ning Fuxun's first words were to ask about Ning Aoxue's condition. Over the phone, he hadn't said much, worried about putting too much pressure on Lin Feng. Now, he couldn't help but express his concern.
"There's nothing serious." Lin Feng shook his head, feeling his face grow hot with embarrassment. The fact that Ning Aoxue had almost been taken away was quite humiliating. If Ning Aoxue had been injured, he would have lost face entirely.
"That's good, that's good!" Ning Fuxun breathed a sigh of relief, his anxious expression easing considerably. He then thanked Lin Feng. "Thanks to you, Brother Lin Feng... If it hadn't been for you, Aoxue would certainly have been taken away. I really don't know what I would have done if they had called..."
Lin Feng felt his face grow even hotter. He knew that Ning Fuxun highly valued him, but the higher the regard, the greater the pressure he felt.
"At least I managed not to fail your trust. I guarantee that incidents like this won't happen again. You should go upstairs to see Aoxue. Remember to knock before you go in..." Lin Feng shook his head, speaking to Ning Fuxun. He knew this old man didn't really want to chat much with him; such compliments were merely to win his loyalty and prevent him from slacking off.
"Brother Lin Feng, words can't express my gratitude. I'll go upstairs then..." Ning Fuxun nodded, clasped his hands in a brief salute to Lin Feng, and then headed to the second floor.
Instead of letting his guard down and retreating to his room, Lin Feng sat directly on the sofa to regulate his condition.
His current situation wasn't good. Although on the surface, his cultivation had advanced to the third layer of Inner Strength, his wild and disorderly Inner Strength had been continuously leaking out, radiating outward like a river bursting its banks.
At this rate, within a day at most, the amount of Inner Strength within Lin Feng would be completely exhausted. By then, Lin Feng would be just an empty shell, a third-layer cultivator with no Inner Strength.
Lin Feng opened his palm and could even see the air above it faintly distorting from the radiating Inner Strength, as though heated to the point where it could vaporize the moisture in the air.
This uncontrolled leakage of Inner Qi might seem impressive, but it was an unconscious process; Lin Feng couldn't control this wasteful behavior at all.
But to stabilize the third-layer realm, it would take at least three months. Is there a way to retain this agitated Inner Strength?
Reflecting on the acupuncture section in the Supreme Medical Classic, Lin Feng quickly found a suitable technique called the "Energy-Vessel Sealing Needle." This technique could temporarily seal damaged meridians, allowing Inner Strength to remain within the body. This could help Lin Feng retain at least eighty percent of his Inner Strength until he stabilized his realm. In this way, Lin Feng could steadily reach the third layer of cultivation within a month at most.
But the drawback of this technique was that after sealing the meridians, Lin Feng could not only no longer use his Inner Strength, but even his physical body could not engage in vigorous movement; otherwise, he would harm his meridians. In other words, Lin Feng would have to be a weakling for a month before he could fully recover.
This isn't much better than discarding my Inner Strength and just pushing through for three months. If I could get my hands on some suitable personal weapons, I could still beat many people relying solely on my physical combat prowess. At least my life would be secure.
Lin Feng firmly rejected this idea and started to consider other options.
"Teehee, Mr. White Wolf King, what are you up to?" Su Zi teased Lin Feng with a playful smile.
Lin Feng's expression changed slightly at Su Zi's form of address. He looked at Su Zi very seriously and said, "Su Zi, don't mention those three words casually. It really could get you into trouble!"
Seeing Lin Feng's serious expression, Su Zi's face stiffened for a moment, then she smiled brightly and sat next to Lin Feng. She giggled and asked, "Which three words can't I mention? 'You... are... doing?'"
Damn, this enchantress!
Lin Feng knew Su Zi was deliberately teasing him, but he was still a bit uncomfortable hearing this beautiful girl laughingly make such a suggestive joke.
What does she mean I can't say 'You... are... doing'? Those three words are perfectly normal! Why, when Su Zi said it like that, did I immediately think of those... indescribable acts? And with the beautifully smiling Su Zi as the subject, no less! This is truly wicked!
Su Zi had sat down practically touching Lin Feng, her sweet fragrance instantly enveloping him.
"You can't mention those three words either..." Lin Feng struggled to maintain a serious expression, his voice strained. "But, please remember, never call me 'White Wolf King' in front of others. It really will bring you a lot of unexpected and terrifying trouble!"
"I can promise not to mention your three words, but on one condition!" Su Zi looked at Lin Feng with a mischievous smile and said in a low voice, "You need to explain to me in detail the meaning behind those three words..."
Su Zi knew that the name "White Wolf King" was undoubtedly deeply connected to Lin Feng's true origins. She was intensely curious about his identity. A woman whose curiosity remains unsatisfied can be a fearsome thing; she would try every means to pry the secret from Lin Feng's lips.
Upon hearing Su Zi's condition, Lin Feng was momentarily lost in thought. The identity of the White Wolf King, he knew, was tied to the great secret of his rebirth. It was absolutely not something he could reveal lightly to anyone—not even his parents or a wife, should he have one. Lin Feng didn't want them to learn such a shocking truth.
"I'm sorry..." Lin Feng's gaze suddenly became very solemn as he looked at Su Zi's devastatingly beautiful yet alluring face. "It's not that I don't want to tell you," he said softly, "but I really can't."
Seeing Lin Feng's solemn expression, Su Zi's heart inexplicably tightened. She could read so much in that gaze; she understood he was deeply conflicted and pained.
"Alright, alright, I won't force you to say it!" Su Zi cooed, gently and naturally hugging Lin Feng from behind as if comforting a child, her voice soothing.
Lin Feng shivered involuntarily when Su Zi suddenly embraced him. A sweet fragrance instantly filled his nostrils...
