Lin Shen watched for a while and discerned the anomaly.

From the mountain cave behind the Asura Ghost King, black smoke continually billowed outwards. This cold, sinister smoke, mostly drifted towards the Asura Ghost King's body, accumulating around him as though granting him a significant boost.

A portion of the black smoke clung to the bottom of the valley, making the nearby area resemble a sea of black clouds.

The Asura Ghost King battled amidst this smoke, while the Nirvana Beings and their pets all fought him from the air, daring not to touch the black smoke.

Bing Leiya explained, "This black smoke is extremely Yin and cold. Even the bodies of Nirvana Beings, upon contact with the black smoke, can be invaded by the cold. At the lightest, one's body will be frozen stiff; at worst, the blood will coagulate into ice. Those with inferior physique and Power of Nirvana simply cannot survive in the smoke, let alone fight."

After a pause, Bing Leiya continued, "The black smoke inside the cave is even denser and colder. Unless you have a robust body like yours, it's impossible to reach the location of the Nirvana Eggs."

Lin Shen looked towards the cave; the black smoke inside was so thick that he couldn't see anything. He frowned and turned to Bing Leiya, "I can't see anything. How do you know there are three Pet Eggs inside?"

"Ghost Gate Star has no star to provide light, it's always in this state with no day. But on a past day, Ghost Gate Star entered the region of another star system. The light from that system's star illuminated this place, and the black fog in the cave lightened a lot. The Asura Ghost King's strength also greatly diminished. That's when someone rushed in and saw them."

Bing Leiya went on to explain, "According to calculations, in about a month, Ghost Gate Star will again approach that star system, and this place will be illuminated once more. The black smoke in the cave will significantly decrease. We must seize the Nirvana Eggs before that happens, or else when that time comes, many more will be able to rush in, and our turn may never come."

"I see," Lin Shen nodded slightly. All the Nirvana Beings who had come here were probably harboring the same idea.

Unfortunately, up until now, no one had been able to rush into the cave and seize the Pet Eggs of the Asura Ghost King.

While they were talking, the situation on the battlefield suddenly changed. The Asura Ghost King's ghostly aura surged, and the black Blade Qi he slashed out bisected a Nirvana pet right in two.

That Nirvana pet was the main shield for the Nirvana Beings—its death threw the group into disarray.

Seeing the situation turn sour, those Nirvana Beings immediately retreated. Even then, the Asura Ghost King killed a few more of their pets before they could withdraw to a safe distance.

The Asura Ghost King did not pursue. He turned around and went back into the cave, his formidable silhouette vanishing in the black smoke.

"The Asura Ghost King isn't lured easily; he hardly leaves the vicinity of the cave entrance. Rushing in is not an easy feat. And even if one could rush in, the frigid black smoke would turn most Nirvana Beings into ice sculptures before they could fetch the Pet Eggs. Even if they didn't turn into ice sculptures, their bodies would become stiff and sluggish from the cold, and if the Asura Ghost King followed, it would be a certain death," Bing Leiya concluded, then looked at Lin Shen and Di Esi to continue, "Di Esi and I will hold it off. You take the chance to rush in. With your physical condition, you should be able to withstand the Yin-Cold black fog, right?"

"I need to get used to it first. Let's all fight against that Asura Ghost King together, and once I'm accustomed to the black fog, I'll find an opportunity to rush into the cave," Lin Shen said thoughtfully.

"Alright," Di Esi and Bing Leiya consented with a single voice. As the three were about to move forward, they saw a man and a woman approaching the cave where the Asura Ghost King resided.

"Are those people from the Phoenix Clan?" Lin Shen spotted the man and woman who had phoenix eyes and feathers, dressed in golden Carapace that resembled the plumes of a Golden Phoenix, and surmised their identity.

"Correct, the Phoenix Clan has recently claimed the title of the Cosmic's Foremost Race, currently at the height of their influence." Bing Leiya looked at the male and female from the Phoenix Clan, furrowing his brow, "That man is Feng Feitian, and the woman is Huang Feiwu, both from the Pure Blood Phoenix Clan. They are fearsome beings among those of Nirvana Level. I did not expect them to be here as well."

"Members of the Pure Blood Phoenix Clan generally choose a dual cultivation partner when they are very young. The 'Phoenix Nirvana Skill' they practice allows them to undergo Nirvana together, and the Nirvana Attributes they gain from dual cultivation are much stronger than those gained from cultivating alone. Lin Shen was also not willing to cut in line, agreeing to wait as well.

"If they take it, our trip here will have been in vain," Bing Leiya said helplessly, only able to watch the battle with Lin Shen and the others.

Just as Feng Feitian and Huang Feiwu approached the cave, two streaks of dark smoky Blade Qi flew out of the cave, slashing towards Feng Feitian and Huang Feiwu, respectively.

The two of them were unafraid, each casually releasing a beam of golden light that actually shattered the dark smoky Blade Qi.

Bing Leiya watched with a tight heart, growing even more worried.

The Asura Ghost King burst out from the cave, still in his previous form, his robust body swirling with black mist, one hand holding a shield, the other clutching that sword-like, knife-like weapon, and went straight for the male and female members of the Phoenix Clan.

Feng Feitian and Huang Feiwu radiated dazzling golden light, sending out beams of gold that actually pushed the black mist-empowered Asura Ghost King back step by step, relying solely on the Ghost Shield to avoid injury.

The golden light seemed to be the natural enemy of the black mist; wherever the gold went, the surrounding dark smoke was dispelled into nothingness.

The Asura Ghost King raised his Ghost Shield, and the ghastly faces on it suddenly opened their eyes, emitting a sinister red light.

The radiance of Feng Feitian and Huang Feiwu was significantly weakened, even their speed slowed down.

The two joined forces to battle the Asura Ghost King, and for a time, they were evenly matched, neither able to gain the upper hand.

Golden light shone in all directions, black mist surged like a tide, various skills and the Power of Nirvana constantly collided, the terrifying surge of the impact rippling in the nearby area, forcing the Nirvana Beings originally in the valley to retreat, all of them flying to the sides of the mountains to watch the great battle unfold.

"Feng Feitian and Huang Feiwu joining forces, and yet they could not gain the upper hand — the Asura Ghost King is even more formidable than we imagined," the bystanders discussed among themselves.

Bing Leiya's expression also grew solemn as she quietly said, "The combined strength of two people from the Phoenix Clan who dual cultivate is more than just double — it can be said that these two together stand as an unbeatable existence at the Nirvana Level. Yet they still can't gain any advantage; we must be careful later on."

While they were talking, they suddenly saw Huang Feiwu breaking away from the battle, charging into the cave.

A Light Explosion burst from Feng Feitian's body, his pupils became rings of golden light, a golden Feather Blade appeared in his hand, and a pair of golden wings of light emerged behind him. He looked like a deity enveloped in golden light, and with his solitary strength, he tangled with the Asura Ghost King, preventing him from returning to the cave.

"This is bad, they're going to succeed," Bing Leiya regretted immensely.
