Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 1283: Xolotl

Nathan was standing with his new familiar next to him. They got another look at the current situation, which didn't seem to be going as smoothly as Nathan originally expected.

In fact, if nothing changed, Nathan would probably lose.

However, the change had arrived.

"I'm sure there are many things you want to say right now, but can we skip the introduction for the time being?" Nathan asked.

"Heh. I don't mind, but let me tell you something. I'm not like your other familiars. You tell me my target. The method and my own role will be up to me."

Nathan finally found a divine beast that actually demanded such a thing. It showed his confidence or arrogance.

Nathan asked one question. "Let me ask you then. Do you have any problems with having a support role?"

"I couldn't care less about my role. I do what I need to do as long as I deem it to fit my power."

"That's good then. Because your target this time is that big guy over there." Nathan finally understood this familiar's character. It looked like he had another Fenrir, but this one was more demanding.

After all, he didn't know whether this familiar had reached that stage or not. But in one version, this familiar was said to be the brother of the God of Creation. In other words, he might have surpassed the level Fenrir and the others were at.

Yes, he might be one of the true gods on Earth. So, it was understandable for him to have that level of arrogance.

Nevertheless, he summoned this familiar because of two things.

The dog jumped into the air and gradually turned into a humanoid form with a dog head. That was right.

This familiar had a shapeshifting ability according to its myth. With his help, he might be able to stand around him and ensure his safety.

The second reason was his power.

Once he turned into his humanoid form, he floated in the air while shouting, "Oi, snake. Get out of the way!"

"Hah?!" Orochi definitely did not like the way he was addressed. But he suddenly sensed danger coming from the sky.

His instinct was telling him to get away, so he had no other choice but to let go of the octopus.

The octopus immediately sent forth a tentacle to the arrogant familiar. Unfortunately for the octopus, this was the first mistake it had made since the battle began.

Before the tentacle could reach the familiar, a bolt of black lightning struck it down. The lightning pierced through the tentacles as the hole expanded as if it was corroding the tentacle.

In just three seconds, the alien found its tentacle gone. In fact, it was forced to cut off its own tentacle to prevent that weird power from spreading to its entire body.

"!!!" Orochi was quite surprised. This was the first time he had seen this level of power.

'What is that? Death? Lightning? I have noticed it before, but this kind of divinity is different from what I have, no, from what everyone has.'

The death energy eroded the piece of tentacle, overwhelming its regenerative power. It destroyed the entire piece just five seconds after it dropped to the ground.

"Oi, Snake. Use your water and poison at the same time. In the end, the poison is also a liquid!"

"Huh?" Orochi wanted to snarl, but he got confused for a moment after that last statement. It felt like something clicked in his mind.

Orochi fell silent for a moment before he realized something. He gathered his energy in all eight mouths before spitting poison.

This time, the poison was in a crescent shape as if it were high-pressure water.

The alien noticed something different. It put two of its tentacles forward. Originally, the two tentacles were enough to withstand this type of attack.

If the water cut the tentacle, it would regrow without any problems. The regeneration speed would overpower Orochi's attack.

However, the result this time was different. The attack cut the tentacles like earlier, but for some reason, the regeneration couldn't keep up.

There was something else eating it away.

The alien was confused. If Orochi used the poison attack, it could strengthen the tentacles with the black cell, which coated the outer skin to protect itself.

If Orochi used the water attack, it could strengthen the inner part of the tentacles to aid its regeneration.

For some reason, Orochi's attack this time contained both water and poison. It was as if the entire attack was a poison, but it still had the same characteristics as the water.

As a result, the attack slashed through both tentacles, and two of them even reached the octopus' main body.

"!!!" Orochi widened his eyes as if he couldn't believe he had just done that.

"You are too focused on your existence. You are a snake, but at the same time, your divinity is water. Even though you have formed your godhood, you haven't been able to use that godhood to its full potential. Your godhood is everything about you. What makes you think they are different?"

"..." Orochi couldn't say anything. In fact, he actually replicated what this familiar did with his lightning and death divinity.

"You take this mere octopus yourself. With your power, it is possible. I will just support you from the back. Don't disappoint me, Snake."

"Hmph." Orochi snorted and moved forward. "Fine, I will take care of it. You are allowed to call this great Orochi by my name."

"I will call you that when you have earned my respect. If you disappoint me here, calling you Snake is enough. But you may call me Xolotl."

"Hmph. Fine." Orochi harrumphed. He might be arrogant, but he definitely knew that Xolotl had helped him realize something earlier. So, Orochi had no choice but to respect him. "I will take care of this. You may not have any opportunity to help me, Xolotl!"

"We'll see." Xolotl shrugged.

Orochi raised one of his heads as tornadoes started to rise. The storm was brewing, but with his realization earlier, these tornadoes turned green.

"Poison Storm!"
