Chapter 1183: Barely Fighting Back
"Incinerate!"
"!!!" Bell hurriedly moved his bell in front of him. Unfortunately for him, this flame was no ordinary flame. It was a chaos flame.
The bell's structure was getting chaotic.
"This is… the link is being burned?" Bell couldn't contain his surprise. He could sense the summoning links forming the bell was getting chaotic and unable to withstand the flame.
As a result, the bell deformed as if it were melting. "What is this flame? He can actually burn my bell?"
"Hahahaha. Burn. Burn everything!" Nathan grinned. Although he adored guns, a flamethrower was something he wanted to shoot at least once. It just looked so cool and terrific whenever he searched for it on the Internet.
And the power was definitely not something he could look down on. The range might be limited, but the firepower was the most unique.
It could actually deform the summoning link itself. This kind of power was basically the bane of all summoners from this continent.
"You…" Bella waved his hand, forming a barrier with his own element.
'Is that… the element from the lifebound contract? Even then…' Nathan turned to the right and set the barrier ablaze.
As expected, the barrier was disintegrated by the flame.
"Stop him!" Bell shouted. He had sent his familiars to the village, so he couldn't recall them to help him in this fight.
However, that shout was directed not at his familiars, but at the other summoner.
"Hmph." Sniper harrumphed. His shot had been blocked again and again, so he wanted to prove that it was just luck.
"What? No, you won't!" Johnson wanted to form another barrier to block the arrow, but Alex Tear appeared in front of him and hit him from the left, forcing Johnson to use that shield to block his attack instead of protecting Nathan.
Evelyn, on the other hand, had her hands full with Soul Devourer. She punched with gravity power, but the latter absorbed that power.
"Tsk." Evelyn clicked her tongue.
"Don't mind us. Kill that brat first." Alex shouted.
"!!!" Nathan switched the target and extended the fire as far as possible, burning the arrow.
However, it could only burn away a portion of its power before it slipped past the flame.
Nathan tilted his body at the last moment as the arrow passed him.
The arrow blasted everything behind Nathan. Other than this one room and the ones on the side, everything else was destroyed by that arrow.
More importantly, the attack hadn't stopped yet.
There was one more person who had been waiting for this chance. The moment the space was opened up, the Bloody Fiend looped around the building and ambushed Nathan from behind.
Bloody Fiend had a pair of spiky pauldrons and a breastplate. He gathered all that power onto his dagger, scanning Nathan's back.
"This angle is perfect." Bloody Fiend stabbed him in the heart.
"Gah!" Nathan spat out a mouthful of blood.
"Blood Fountain." Bloody Fiend smirked as he pulled out the dagger, letting the blood spurt out of Nathan's body.
"That's a great fountain." Bloody Fiend was satisfied with his work, but he suddenly noticed that despite killing Nathan, there was no reaction from Evelyn or Johnson.
"What's going on?" He looked around, but he abruptly sensed a presence from behind.
When he turned around, the destroyed area had restored itself. There was a bamboo fan standing upward and fully open. The fan split into two, then split again, again, and again until it couldn't be counted anymore.
"What?" He panicked. His instincts kicked in at the last moment, forcing his body to twist to the side.
It was there that he saw Mae, with one of her tails already moving forward and hitting the dagger. Thanks to the dagger, the tail was slightly deflected, hitting his left side.
Then, multiple tails followed right after as if trying to finish the job.
"Ooohhh!" Bloody Fiend screamed as he struck one tail after another, barely blocking them.
Ultimately, he jumped away and kicked the wall, only to find nothing there. That was right. It was supposed to be destroyed earlier, so how could there be a wall there?
But the motion was already set. Due to the lack of a wall, his balance was disrupted greatly.
"Daring to hurt my master." Mae looked at him coldly as if he were already a dead man. "Die!"
"Ooohhhh!" Bloody Fiend panicked and recalled all his familiars and summoned them in front of him, turning them into his shield.
As a result, two of the familiars were heavily injured, and the rest were spared with only minor injuries. However, no death.
"…" Johnson might be having a hard time against Alex Tear, but he was still glancing to the side from time to time. He never thought Nathan could actually fight three summoners by himself.
Of course, their familiars had to be directed to the village as a distraction for Johnson's subordinates, but Nathan summoned only one familiar, Mae.
"Take this!" Bell Crusher recalled the light blue bell and summoned a green one. He then punched the bell.
*Dong!*
The heavy ring echoed across the house.
"Aaaahhh!" Nathan screamed in pain. For some reason, his ena became unstable.
"!!!" Mae noticed the attack and hurriedly applied her illusion to calm down his ena.
Bloody Fiend took advantage of this opportunity to leap over his familiar and stabbed her.
Mae changed her shape to a smaller girl so that his aim would be off. Still, the dagger hit her thigh.
"Tsk." Mae clicked her tongue. She clapped her hands.
All of a sudden, a pair of hands captured Bloody Fiend.
"Wait. This is…" Bloody Fiend turned around and saw his familiar was the one holding him. "Are you betraying me? No… this is…" He shook his head, regaining a bit of his common sense.
He realized it was an illusion, so he released all the energy in his body to disrupt the illusion.
"Haa… Ha… This is just an illusion. Your attack won't be effective against me anymore!" Bloody Fiend snorted.
"Really?" Mae smiled with confidence. The wound on her thigh was suddenly enveloped by golden light and disappeared in an instant.
Bloody Fiend abruptly turned around because he sensed something on his back.
Anubis had already been waiting for him in his humanoid form. In fact, the area had become golden and turned into a place he couldn't recognize.
"You are guilty. Death Penalty." Anubis harrumphed. The scale tipped completely as it then produced a wave of golden light, focusing on Blood Fiend.
"Aaaahhhh!" Bloody Fiend screamed at the top of his lungs as if he was being burned from the inside.
