Chapter 1154: Fenrir's Bullets
"Huuu…" Nathan exhaled a long breath before opening his eyes. His mind felt a bit tired after controlling and structuring every single detail. "Looks like this is it… How are you doing, Fenrir?"
"It does feel weird, feeling that your body is not your body. Other than that, there's no problem. Still, why am I a pistol? Since it's about me, I thought you would go for a shotgun."
"Well…" Nathan had considered this form. He was robust and powerful, so it matched the image of a shotgun. However, he shook his head and said, "You are my first familiar and so, obviously, you will be the foundation of my power."
The first time Nathan introduced guns into this world, he used them in the form of a pistol, so Fenrir represented this idea. Fenrir harrumphed, but it looked like he was happy about it. "Fine, I will accept it."
"Thanks." Nathan smiled. "But it looks like you're able to use your power from the Crystal Manifestation in this tool form, right?"
"It shouldn't be a problem. Though, we can apply it in a more suitable way."
"I will leave it to you, partner."
"Of course."
Nathan finally lifted up his head, finding Evelyn already done with the tool form. She chose glove forms simply because she was adept in close quarter combat. The gloves were black, but they were also covered with skeletons on the outer layer, representing both the black coat the skeleton wore and its identity.
"Looks like you have finished." Evelyn turned to Nathan.
"Yes."
Evelyn nodded. "I can attempt more, but I guess I should stop for the time being."
"Huh? Why? With your mastery, it should be a piece of cake, right? Or do you notice a problem?"
"No, it's not a problem." Evelyn looked at Nathan. "I'm curious about the power, so why don't we have a little match to test the new power?"
"!!!" Nathan was surprised by the sparring request, but it might be a good way to test his power. He thought for a moment before asking, "Are you fine with it, Fenrir?"
"Of course. I'm curious about what I'm capable of doing in this situation. Besides, it's not like you have to hold me now."
"Huh? Really?" Nathan let go of Fenrir, and, surprisingly, the pistol floated. He noticed Fenrir was controlling his body with his ena.
"See? I can fire it by myself if I want, but it's probably better if I turn back into my original form if I have to fight like that."
"Fair enough." Nathan finally nodded to Evelyn. "Sure. Let's have a spar.
"Good. Let's go." Evelyn snapped her fingers, creating a teleportation circle beneath them. It teleported them a few kilometers away from the city, ensuring that no one would be able to find them.
It was a plain field with no trees. It looked like a grassland, but all the grass had been buried underneath the ash.
Evelyn circulated her energy before saying, "I will lower my energy output to match yours. We are not betting anything, so just try things and be done with it."
Nathan smiled wryly. It was clearly her way of telling him she wouldn't be fooled anymore.
"I understand. Should I begin?" Nathan raised his pistol.
"Mhmm. You can begin. I will be on the defensive first."
"Then…" Nathan aimed at Evelyn.
"!!!" Evelyn widened her eyes in shock. She abruptly raised both arms as Nathan pressed the trigger.
*Bam!*
There were no bullets. The only thing that came out was an explosion sound coming from the pistol.
Then, Evelyn felt a powerful force strike her arms and blow her away. If not for her crashing into a tree, she would have been more than 50 meters (165 feet) away.
Nathan and Evelyn widened their eyes in shock. It might be because Nathan didn't have a lifebound contract that this power was nothing like his previous bullet.
This invisible bullet contained pure strength. It was as if Fenrir had gathered all his strength and momentum into a single point and hit her. It was a bullet containing pure strength and bringing pure destruction.
"Wow!" Nathan gasped. "So, this is Fenrir's bullet? It's unlike any bullet I have made before."
"How is it? Cool, right? That bullet contains my absolute strength." Fenrir was grinning. Even he sounded excited with this new form, even though it felt unfamiliar.
"Hahaha. I finally understand why the people in this world don't even develop their tools and why that mineral is useless. This kind of power is like having an artifact… No, even more than that. With such a powerful tool in their possession, why do they even need magic tools?"
"Fenrir. Rapid shot." Nathan pointed the pistol to the side and pressed the trigger multiple times.
*Bam!*
*Bam!*
*Bam!*
Multiple destructive forces exploded and kicked all the ash into the air. However, he noticed something. The strength was slightly weakened after the first shot, and one shot even failed to fire.
"Hmm. Looks like…" Nathan squinted his eyes.
"Yes. I have a hard time filling the energy for every attack. Just imagine firing claw attacks in rapid succession. It's hard. That's probably the limit."
"I see. That's something I have to consider." Nathan nodded.
"Are you ready? It's my turn." Evelyn reminded him after coming back to her position.
"I know. Let's do this. Come!" Nathan steeled himself.
"Then…" Evelyn raised both arms. The gravity around Nathan suddenly increased drastically.
2 times…
3 times…
5 times…
10 times…
"!!!" Nathan widened his eyes as the ground started to crack. It felt like a massive building on top of him.
"This is just my usual power. It's time to use my familiar. Get ready!"
"Come!"
Evelyn then utilized the power of her familiar and changed the shape of gravity. It became similar to a funnel that would gather on Nathan. The gravity increased sharply beyond what she was able to use.
As a world class summoner, Evelyn could increase the gravity all the way to 25 times. But because of the weapon, she was able to increase it to 100 times. However, since she limited her power, only half of it hit Nathan.
Nathan felt as if a mountain was pressing down on him. He instantly fell face-first as his entire body was crushed flat by the gravity.
"Aahhhh!"
