Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 1152: Fenrir's New Form

Nathan and Evelyn were sitting in the lotus pose.

"All of us have naturally become Crystal Summoners since we're able to summon our familiar, and now, to utilize the fragment, you need to summon your familiar."

For this trial, Nathan summoned Fenrir. Meanwhile, Evelyn summoned a bluish skeleton. It had a hat, a coat, and even curved swords that looked like a sailor. This was a skeleton that possessed the power of gravity.

Nathan and Evelyn closed their eyes.

"You will have to turn your familiar into a fragment. All familiars will have their summoning links. Like how we're utilizing this summoning link to create a lifebound contract, we will be utilizing this summoning link to access the true power of the familiar.

"First, sense your summoning link. Push your consciousness into the summoning link and enter your familiar."

They had never tried something like this before, but that was because the familiar rejected this kind of intrusion.

When Nathan concentrated everything he had into his heart, he could sense faintly the summoning link.

This summoning link could be expanded up to 2 kilometers (1.2 miles) with his current strength. However, since Fenrir was near, the link was like a rope that flowed in the air, not too tense but not too loose.

It was blue in color as though it was connecting their souls.

While following this summoning link, Nathan could see how the link was actually spreading inside Fenrir's body.

It was as if the link turned into veins in his body.

"This is…" Nathan murmured.

"What do you see?" Fenrir asked.

"It looks like the summoning link has become the vessel that constructs your existence," explained Nathan.

Fenrir paused for a moment. "For me, I feel a bit weird. It's like someone is inside me."

"Sorry for that, but please don't resist."

"Don't worry. I know." Fenrir nodded.

"To reach this step, you need to have great focus. At the very least, an elite summoner will have a hard time sensing it. However, it's not impossible." Nathan squinted his eyes.

"That must be because the ena makes the link itself." Fenrir nodded in agreement. "The higher the rank of the summoner, the more ena they have. This will allow the summoning link to be more apparent to them."

"But doesn't that mean the summoning link can be cut if they're made of ena?" Nathan frowned.

Evelyn, who had been focusing on the trial, chose to answer the question. "No. Since it's made up of ena, you should know how small ena particles are. The summoning link will simply go through the things that pass through it."

"Fair enough." Nathan nodded.

"Enough chatter. It's time to test the last step. I'm ready." Evelyn paused for a moment as she opened her eyes. She raised her hand as the skeleton started to disappear.

To her surprise, the skeleton's body was emitting a pale pink light that gradually condensed on Evelyn's hand. "So, this is the fragment. How are you doing?"

It might be due to the new method that the skeleton could transmit its voice directly into Evelyn's mind. "Yes. It feels weird in this new form, but the sensation is new. There's also no problem."

"Should we?" Nathan asked Fenrir. Fenrir nodded solemnly. "I'm your first familiar. If it's something new, I will be the one to try it first. I'll leave it to you, Partner."

Nathan nodded as he began concentrating again. The summoning links were veins in Fenrir's body. It was the one that constructed his body. Nathan started channeling his own energy and changed the veins' form.

He retracted all the veins first and gathered them into a single point. This single point hovered slightly above his palm.

All that energy from the veins was condensed into one spot, creating a crystal. Its shape was an octahedron with longer tips on both sides.

"Hu…" Nathan exhaled. He managed to do it on the first try. "How is it, Fenrir?"

"Looks like I can feel a lot of things." Fenrir paused for a moment. "First of all, I can now understand how Kun used telepathy, but I might not be able to use it in my original form. I can only do it because in this shape, all the energy from the summoning link is concentrated.

"Regarding my new form, I don't know what to say. It feels foreign but familiar at the same time. I can probably unleash my absolute strength here, but it's just a manifestation of power through ena. Its appearance might resemble a shock wave of pure strength.

"Besides, I can even release my claw strikes. In this state, I feel like I'm able to access your own control."

Nathan pondered. "How about the advantages of this power? What makes it more beneficial than letting you fight?"

"I'm not entirely sure yet. If I have to say it, there are two things I've noticed. How about sensing your own strength right now?"

"Hmm?" Nathan frowned and clutched his hand. "This is…?"

"Looks like you noticed it. By condensing this power, you're able to access my power like I access yours. In other words, your strength and defense have increased due to my divine body."

"I see. That will be extremely useful." Nathan nodded. "If we fight separately, it might be stronger. However, this kind of fighting style can also be more beneficial in other areas.

"The reason the summoners on Gratzel need to strengthen their power is so that they won't die so quickly. After all, summoners are more likely to die compared to their familiars. Of course, a lot of summoners also don't fight alongside their familiars, but with this, the survival rate of summoners can increase."

"Yes. This sounds similar to the lifebound contract." Fenrir confirmed. "The second benefit is applying my power to your power. It might sound similar to what I described earlier, but think about this. If you use your bullets and I reinforce them with my absolute strength, how powerful will your bullets become?"

"!!!"
