Chapter 2300: Military Training

Peter Brown was much quieter at this moment. Although the Foreign Tribe's Army was confronting them, they hadn't attacked. Seeing this situation, Peter had a feeling that something significant might happen.

Since the opponent hadn't attacked, Peter naturally wouldn't miss this opportunity. Using his herbs, Peter began to refine swiftly on the spot.

With the continuous production of herbal extracts, Peter started administering them to the prisoners, including those 50,000 captured soldiers.

After a few days, the 360,000 Army had truly become Peter Brown's most loyal soldiers.

Of course, with plenty of herbal medicine, having such a force naturally gave Peter more confidence, and he believed that his army would only grow larger in the future.

With this mindset, Peter nearly utilized all the available herbs here and crafted a large quantity of medicine pills, which could dissolve into water at any time to transform soldiers.

The training matters were naturally being handled by his subordinates. With so many troops, there were, of course, plenty of capable Generals. Peter merely took out some of his formation techniques to teach them, and then left the training of the army entirely in their hands.

Every day the troops trained within the city, while outsiders knew nothing of Peter's situation. Even the Foreign Tribe Army had limited knowledge of Peter's circumstances; they only knew Peter had captured a large number of their soldiers, and worried that if they attacked now, Peter might resort to killing the prisoners, which numbered a hundred thousand or more—a consequence the Foreign Tribe could not bear.

The Foreign Tribe negotiators had long since arrived and were discussing with Peter the terms for ransoming the prisoners.

Just then, a Messenger from the Windsor Family arrived, reporting the situation in Kingston to Peter.

The messenger was sent by Melody Carter, who was part of an independent system, a secret intelligence network organized by Peter Brown.

After understanding the situation of the imperial court, Peter sat silently, fully aware of how this matter would unfold. The incidents would inevitably lead to a struggle between Prince Samuel and the other princes.

Peter's gaze even turned towards the Eastern Legion. He felt uneasy about that corps, suspecting that the Eastern Legion might be in trouble.

He could not afford to move now!

After lightly tapping his fingers on the table, Peter's eyes sharpened as he thought of something: if possible, release these transformed Foreign Tribe Genetic Soldiers back into their ranks. If they returned, they would surely be integrated into their military. What kind of situation would that create?

At that moment, a Messenger Soldier rushed in, shouting as soon as he entered, "Report, news has come in that our Eastern Legion's 800,000 troops were ambushed and are now caught in a chaotic battle while returning to Kingston."

Peter showed no particular change in expression, sighing inwardly. It seemed that the Eastern Legion had been plotted against. Everyone knew they would return to defend Kingston, and they were ambushed along the way.

Unable to even send a request for help, it's likely that those troops are doomed!

What to do?

Peter knew he could not wait any longer. If he continued to wait, there was a risk that after the Foreign Tribe Army destroyed the Eastern Legion, they would focus their efforts on dealing with his own forces.

"Notify the Foreign Tribe negotiators that I have agreed to their terms. We will exchange our soldiers for theirs, or if that's not enough, exchange sturdy men from our ranks for their soldiers, and use Gold if there's still a shortage."

"General, we don't have enough provisions to sustain the army!" a worried General remarked.

Peter smiled and said, "Let it be."

Peter needed a large army now; only with an army could he accomplish certain things.

"By the way, how many of Our Clan soldiers have been captured?"

"Around 60,000 were captured, and additionally, after the invasion, many were turned into Servants. They actually don't need much, they can easily capture many people from Our Clan."

"How many troops does the opponent have here?"

This was what concerned Peter the most.

"From what we've gathered, the opponent has a million troops stationed opposite us."

"Haven't they transferred troops to encircle the Eastern Legion?"

"Apparently not, those surrounding the Eastern Legion are their other million troops, along with various tribes' allied forces. They've gathered Three Million to besiege the Eastern Legion this time."

Peter sighed inwardly, acknowledging that these Foreign Tribe People were clever. As long as they eliminated the Eastern Legion, there would be no military forces of strength in the Northern Region or the East, allowing them to plunder without restraint.

Unfortunately, they hadn't accounted for Peter's existence!

"General, they agreed to the exchange. Tomorrow, the two armies will conduct the exchange outside the city."

A few hours later, the negotiators came to report this matter.

The opponent had a million, and Peter had 360,000, most importantly, they were unaware that the twenty-some-thousand they'd exchange back were now Peter's subordinates.

The next day, when Peter and his forces opened the City Gate and went out, the opponent was already arranged in formation from a distance.

The Foreign Tribe exchange was led by a Marshal named Joseph Cooper.

Joseph Cooper rode over from a distance, shouting loudly to Peter, "General Wang, according to the agreement, you have our 220,000 prisoners. We have 60,000 of your captured soldiers. This 60,000 will be the first batch of exchange, and we also have One Hundred Thousand of your sturdy men. These will be the second batch of exchange. What do you think?"

"Alright, that makes 160,000, do you plan to use Gold for the remaining ones?"

Joseph Cooper shook his head and said, "Those One Hundred Thousand sturdy men also have twenty-some-thousand family members; do you think they could substitute for those 60,000?"

It was well known that if Peter brought in so many people, it would inevitably cause a shortage of food within the city. However, Peter could not refuse the exchange of those individuals, and Joseph Cooper smiled, looking at Peter, knowing he was likely to agree.

"Fine, let's start the exchange, bring in the family members first."

Peter, instead of exchanging the prisoners first, chose to exchange the ordinary people.

Though there was some hesitation, Joseph Cooper still ordered the exchange to begin.

A large number of ordinary people, feeling as if they'd survived a disaster, entered into Ling Distant City.
