Mattie Brown's mind was still in a fog, the events in the imperial court today had left him completely stunned, he really hadn't expected things to turn out this way.

In the Windsor Family, he was the only one able to stand in the imperial court, so the events that happened today were known only to him in the Windsor Family.

As the head of the Windsor Family, he also had concerns about the family's development, but had always had no better way except to maintain the noble title. Everyone was stunned. On what basis did Melody Carter get to enter the family's place of discussion? Even if Peter Brown had any development, Melody Carter shouldn't be granted such a privilege, right?

"Patriarch?" One of the elders questioned, looking at Mattie Brown suspiciously.

"Just do it," Mattie Brown insisted.

People who should be there had all arrived, while Melody Carter's residence was at a certain distance, everyone sat and waited, observing the noticeable change in Mattie Brown today, uncertain of what had transpired.

When Melody Carter arrived timidly, she sat down cautiously, unaware of what event necessitated her, a woman, to attend such a meeting.

Once Melody Carter had seated herself, Mattie Brown looked around before saying, "Many things transpired in today's imperial court."

Everyone looked at him, eager to know what had happened.

Mattie Brown continued, "The one hundred thousand troops we sent to support were utterly defeated, Marshal Joshua West died in battle, and the Northern Army was further routed, with most of the important officers dead."

Ah!

Now everyone was shocked, no one expected such an occurrence.

Melody Carter immediately became nervous, exclaiming, "Peter, how is Peter?" For her, the greatest concern was her son. Ever since her son underwent a transformation, the lives of both mother and daughter had improved significantly.

The reason for Melody Carter's summons now dawned on the family; they all sighed inwardly, presuming Peter Brown met the same fate, hence Melody Carter was called.

Seeing Melody Carter's worried expression, Mattie Brown said, his expression complex, "Peter is fine."

Upon hearing this, Melody Carter finally breathed a sigh of relief, but still asked, "Since the Northern conflict is so chaotic, what will happen to Peter and the others?"

One elder remarked, "Patriarch, logically since the Northern conflict is so chaotic, Peter, arriving there as a Centurion, what impact could he have? How do you know he's alright?"

Everyone shared the same question.

Mattie Brown sighed and said, "Who knows what really happened; anyway, the remaining forces of Marshal Joshua West met the enemy army again during the advance. After a fierce battle, his central army was utterly destroyed, and he himself was killed. Your Majesty was furious and has decreed the execution of his entire clan."

"What about Peter?" Melody Carter only cared about her son, disregarding others.

"How could it be possible!"

Those familiar with Peter Brown's circumstances were stunned, they truly hadn't expected Peter to possess such capabilities.

Mattie Brown looked at Melody Carter and said, "You needn't worry about Peter; today in the imperial court they were discussing Northern affairs, Your Majesty has issued an Imperial Edict, granting Peter the noble title of Baron and appointing him as the Northern Army's Commander-in-Chief General, reorganizing the Northern Army."

What?

The assembled family members were astonished once again. If hearing about Peter Brown achieving some victories didn't induce much of a reaction, hearing about his official reward left everyone dumbfounded; a Baron!

"Patriarch, are you saying he's been granted the title of Baron?"

Everyone felt a whirlwind of confusion in their minds; on what basis did Peter Brown achieve such a status, how did he become a Baron?

Looking back at Mattie Brown now, everyone realized that Peter Brown, starting at this point, shared the same title as Mattie Brown. The most crucial difference was that Mattie Brown's position was inherited, always at risk of being lost without military authority, while Peter Brown was entirely different, now with more than 100,000 troops, a title with actual power!
