Chapter 2288: Turning the Tide
As Peter Brown's divine sense swept over, he discovered their vanguard army's commander, Edmund Ironwood, was at the forefront, being surrounded by several masters from the foreign tribes. As his divine sense arrived, Edmund was pierced by an arrow through his body, then cut down by another person with a knife, followed by another who rushed forward with a gun and stabbed him.
He's dead!
Seeing Edmund's condition, Peter Brown could only shake his head. He could tell that Edmund was a trusted follower of the marshal and also a valiant general, but unfortunately, the enemy came prepared this time, and he had not been able to show his skills before dying.
With Edmund's death, Peter saw that the troops on the vanguard were in chaos, and the whole army had lost their will to fight, being slaughtered by the foreign troops.
"Follow me!"
Peter Brown naturally didn't want to see his side defeated. After giving an order, he led his army charging forward.
As Peter changed direction like this, the army that besieged Peter and his one thousand soldiers quickly charged towards them.
Another intense battle unfolded.
This time, Peter Brown held nothing back. After deploying a massive ultimate killing formation, the entire army rolled over, surging towards the foreign troops like waves.
Wherever Peter and his one thousand men passed, there were corpses left behind. Those people simply couldn't survive in front of his army.
Peter was at the forefront of this warship, rolling forward!
No one could withstand Peter Brown's sword; he continuously tore open the enemy's line as his troops rolled forward.
Soon, Peter and his army reached the front of their own struggling troops.
"All soldiers of our clan, close in with us, follow us closely!"
Peter's voice reached everyone's ears.
Those who were trapped in a desperate struggle, certain they wouldn't survive, clung to this lifeline like drowning men. Seeing their own army rolling towards them, everyone automatically followed Peter Brown and his men.
Only at this moment did they feel a sense of salvation. Everyone followed closely, all panting there.
Seeing the army they followed, everyone's eyes widened. They had never thought that the army they once looked down upon would be the one to save them.
Looking again at this army, every soldier was filled with killing intent, wielding their swords wildly, leaving a bloody trail where they passed.
What an awesome army!
Seeing how powerful this army was, everyone was astonished.
However, their hearts were filled with excitement; having such a formidable army in front increased their chances of survival.
Peter Brown led his army, sweeping the battlefield several times, rescuing those stuck in desperate battles.
Unconsciously, aside from his own thousand men, fifteen hundred more followed them.
"Follow me to kill!"
Changing the attack direction, Peter Brown led his men charging towards the central army area once again.
Divine sense had long swept through the situation here. Peter found bitter struggles everywhere; the foreign army had ambushed heavily, and Marshal Joshua West's army hadn't received intelligence on the ambush, getting scattered instantly. Now, everywhere was chaotic, and even if he wanted to command, he was powerless, only able to rely on his central army to fight desperately.
Even though Joshua West had 60,000 soldiers in the central army, only less than 30,000 remained now, losing so many people at once. Marshal Joshua West was in despair, knowing it would be difficult to escape alive this time.
No reinforcements!
Joshua West looked around; they were originally the reinforcements. Facing the foreign siege, there was nowhere to find other reinforcements; even if there were, it would be too late.
Could it be that this time we are doomed?
As Joshua West looked out, all he saw were foreign troops, dense and boundless.
Alas!
Marshal Joshua West sighed, and could only personally lead his troops in desperate combat.
Though he was a strong fighter, he was old. Once trapped in bitter combat, he knew he couldn't hold out much longer; after a while, he might die.
Looking at his Iron Armed Guard, Joshua West smiled bitterly. These were the soldiers the Moore Family had spent much effort to cultivate, and now very few remained.
As Marshal Joshua West let out a bitter smile, suddenly, he felt a disturbance among the enemy troops in front.
With his keen battlefield observation, he instantly knew something had changed in that direction.
Could it be reinforcements arrived?
Could the vanguard troops have come?
All kinds of thoughts surfaced, and Joshua West didn't hesitate. He knew that direction might be the only place he could survive, and he commanded his remaining troops to charge madly in that direction.
Originally thinking it would be a bitter battle to get through, it was puzzling to Joshua that the foreign troops showed no resistance, and after a fierce charge, they broke through.
Just after breaking through, Joshua West saw a great flag raised high, with a huge "W" character on it.
Where did these reinforcements come from?
Marshal Joshua West really hadn't expected these were his subordinates.
Seeing this army again, Marshal Joshua West gasped; it was like an iron beast, with a young soldier at the front, slashing with his large sword, knocking down anyone in his path.
As he charged, the people following him wielded their blades in a flurry, toppling the foreign tribe people one after another.
Behind them was a long dragon-like formation, where numerous soldiers followed, finishing off those enemies who hadn't died.
As Marshal Joshua West watched, the surrounding foreign troops scattered in all directions, utterly terrified of the arriving army, with no one daring to confront them.
"Reinforcements!"
"It's our troops!"
Those with Marshal Joshua West were overjoyed. This army had relieved what seemed a certain death situation, and even though their numbers didn't appear large, they moved like an iron beast, unstoppable.
"This!"
Marshal Joshua West was stunned, finally realizing this was his own army, especially recognizing the strong young warrior as Peter Brown from the Windsor Family.
Before he could piece it together, Peter Brown's army arrived, and he heard Peter loudly say to him, "Subordinate Peter Brown, apologies for the delayed rescue!"
