Suddenly Reincarnated Into R-19 Novel

Chapter 1: Chapter 1

Henny, could you handle this for me? I have a terrible headache and I don't think I can manage," Elisabeth said to me as we stood in the kitchen.

"Sure, just put it down there. I'll take care of it," I replied with a smile.

"Thank you, Henny!" she said cheerfully before leaving. I sighed, still unable to believe what was happening.

I died in a bus accident when the vehicle lost its brakes, and that's where my ordeal began. Before I knew it, I had been reincarnated into the novel "Love Under the Rose." My friend Lexie had recommended it to me, even though I initially refused because I typically avoid that genre. However, she was persistent, and eventually, I gave in. I must admit that the story flows beautifully; the writing is so unique that it draws me deeper into each chapter.

So, I kept my reading a secret, skipping over the bed scenes since they confused me. It felt like a whirlwind of thoughts—what I truly enjoyed were the interactions between the heroine and her love interests.

In the end, she ended up with the male lead named Felix Don Baughette. As I reached the epilogue, I discovered that the heroine was infertile and unable to produce an heir for Duke Felix. And let me tell you, Duke Felix is the kind of handsome man you dream about! How can someone be so beautiful and sexy? It's simply unfair!

"Did you hear the news? The Duke is having an affair?" I froze at the gossip among the maids. Wait! An affair? That can't be true; isn't this supposed to be a happy ending? The story clearly states that the Duke loves no one but Princess Penelope.

Without hesitation, I rushed to Princess Penelope's room and found her in tears. Without thinking, I embraced her. It hurt to see her like this; she didn't deserve it.

"I'm okay, Henny. Thank you for comforting me," she said with a teary smile.

Eventually, she fell asleep, and just then, I noticed Duke Felix standing in front of me. Instinctively, I bowed my head.

"Your Excellency." I remained bowed until I looked up and saw him staring at me. Flustered, I grabbed the large basket I had brought earlier to change the bedding.

"I'm leaving now," I said quickly as I hurried out of the chamber.

What was he thinking? Surely, I hadn't done anything wrong? I was just doing my job properly. Oh well!

I resumed my work in the mansion when someone called out to me.

"Henny!" A smile spread across my face when I saw Ronan, one of my coworkers here. He's a gardener at the Duke's mansion, and we met when he helped me pick flowers after another maid had sent me on an errand. Thankfully, Ronan knew what kind of flowers to gather since I had no idea. There are many gardeners here, but none are as kind as Ronan.

"What's up, Ronan?" I asked as he approached.

"I found what you were looking for—herbs," he said with a grin that made me happy.

"Thank you so much! You're a blessing from heaven," I replied as I quickly took them and tucked them into my dress pocket.

"What are you going to do with them?" he inquired.

"Oh this? It's a great remedy for when your body feels tired. Just wait; I'll give you some once I've prepared it," I smiled back at him.

"Sounds good."

Now back in my room, I was preparing the remedy for Ronan when my shoulders began to ache from crushing the herbs. It was getting late and all I wanted was to sleep; however, sleep eluded me, so I continued working on the remedy instead.

After some time, I finished and smiled as I placed it into a small bottle. Suddenly, I heard Princess Penelope making noise again. This was a nightly occurrence; at first, it worried me, but Elisabeth told me that the Duke and Duchess were making love. Making love? What does that even mean? Tsk! It's tough being clueless sometimes! Elisabeth explained it to me as sexual intercourse.

"I'm not satisfied with you Penelope; you'll never satisfy me," I heard Duke Felix say from not far away since Princess Penelope's room is close to mine.

"What do you mean I'm not satisfying? I've given you everything, Felix!" Penelope shouted angrily at him. How could this be happening? I thought they shared a passionate love that would lead to a happy ending!

"I can't take this anymore! You can't blame me if I'm with another woman because you don't satisfy me." Hearing Penelope cry broke my heart as she ran out of her room naked and sobbing. Without hesitation, I rushed over and embraced her.

"I regret loving him! I'm such a fool!" she wailed into my shoulder as I held her tightly.

Since that day, Duke Felix stopped returning to his mansion because rumors spread that he had taken another lover. Meanwhile, Penelope grew weaker as she stopped eating properly. No matter how hard I tried to lift her spirits, nothing seemed to work; she was deeply hurt.

Then came a day when Penelope's demeanor changed drastically—she became irritable and even lashed out at me sometimes. Despite this mistreatment, I understood what she was going through and bore it quietly.

Soon after that day arrived when she brought her mistress home—a situation that only fueled Penelope's anger further. She lost her authority in the mansion as the Duke favored his mistress more than her.

Gradually, Penelope faded both emotionally and physically due to depression until one day—a scene more horrifying than anything else I'd ever witnessed unfolded before my eyes: Penelope drank poison right in front of Duke Felix and his mistress while I mourned her tragic death.

"I thought it would be a happy ending for you," I whispered as I placed flowers on her grave.

"I'm happy to serve you, Princess." With that farewell lingering in my mind, I returned to the mansion to continue my duties—hoping for peace—but fate had other plans for me.

Tragedy struck again when Duke Felix tried to assault me! No! Whatever happens next, I must protect myself!

I gazed out of my window while inhaling the fresh air. Tomorrow morning, I'll go see the Duke to inform him that I'm leaving to return to Princess Penelope's place since I'm her exclusive maid.

I fell into a deep sleep in my room until minutes later when something brushed against my thigh. Startled awake, my heart raced when I saw Duke Felix standing before me.

"D-Duke! What are you doing here?" My heart pounded loudly as he reached for my chin.

"I think your body can satisfy me. Your looks don't matter as long as you can please—" Before he could finish his sentence, panic surged through me and propelled me toward the door but he caught my arm.

"I'm not done talking to you—" In desperation, I kicked him between his legs and bolted for the door.

I ran out of the mansion only to be met by knights blocking my path. No! Escape is imperative!

I dashed around them toward a hidden wall exit but suddenly felt someone tugging at my hair—it was none other than Duke Felix himself!

"You b*tch!" He pushed me hard enough that I stumbled backward before gripping my chin with fury etched on his face.

"How dare you run away from me?" Looking around frantically for something—anything—I could use as a weapon; there was a large rock nearby! Without hesitation, I grabbed it and swung it at his head. Even if he's handsome beyond belief—I wouldn't hesitate to ruin his face! Survival is all that matters!

I dashed toward freedom until finally breaking free—but there was no time to stop running; distance from Duke Felix was crucial!

I ran until exhaustion set in; every step felt numb yet nothing mattered more than escaping from him!

Suddenly a carriage approached ahead of me; without thinking twice—I waved frantically while blocking their path only to realize merchants occupied it!

"GET OUT OF THE WAY!" one shouted angrily but instead of moving aside—I leaped down onto their carriage readying myself with something valuable enough for persuasion.

"Please take this expensive necklace and hairpin; it's all I've got! Just let me ride with you!" Desperation filled my voice as fear gripped me looking around for any sign of knights closing in on us while kneeling before them pleadingly,

"Please!"

"Alright." They agreed reluctantly allowing me aboard their carriage just in time before we sped away from danger! Thank goodness for my quick thinking because if I'd hesitated even slightly—I might have been caught!

As we traveled further away from danger—my heart still racing—I couldn't help but recall how terrifyingly close I'd come today...

"What happened to you? You look like you've been through something rough," one merchant asked curiously noticing bruises on my skin.

"A wild beast chased after me forcing me into combat," came my fabricated response without revealing too much truth about who really pursued me...

"What were you doing there? Are you some kind of hunter?"

"No! Just passing through,"

"Where are you from?"

Asking this question made me hesitate—if mentioning Princess Penelope's name would surely lead back toward trouble... Maybe Eranio would be safer instead?

"In Eranio," came my answer while he nodded thoughtfully engaging further into conversation until unexpectedly we reached an unforeseen topic,

"You know… My daughter has always admired Duke Felix but because we come from humble beginnings—there's no hope for her ever acknowledging our family… Even if she were alive today—the late Duchess would always remain unmatched."

Swallowing hard upon hearing those words—it dawned on how wealthy yet charming Duke truly is... No wonder women fall head over heels for him but honestly—I'm not like those women who easily succumbed...
