Chapter 211: Yes, Boss!
The office quickly became busy after Gray gave them the go signal. Joel pulled his laptop closer and opened the Jet2 portal with ease. On the other hand, the four men lined up like they were obedient students.
Each one was clutching their IDs and licenses as if they were the tickets to a new life.
The process was surprisingly smooth.
Ron stayed true to his word and stood by on standby. He was approving the applications almost instantly as soon as the names and documents were forwarded to him.
One by one, the men's profiles appeared on the dashboard. They were marked with a green check. They were now official riders under Gray's store.
By the time everything was finalized, the excitement in the room was almost palpable.
The four thugs were grinning ear to ear. They were practically bouncing in their seats as they looked at their profiles on their phone.
They kept exchanging quick glances with one another, as if they couldn't believe this was actually happening.
When they were finally ready to start, they went to get their motorbikes that were parked outside. They strapped on their helmets and even took a picture of each other.
It was such a funny moment.
The sight of their enormous bodies posing cutely was too much for Gray. Adding to that, their motorbikes looked small beside their frames.
Gray, who was watching them from the side, let out a quiet laugh.
However, Rome, who had been silently watching beside him, stepped forward.
"Sir… I… I can't drive," he admitted in shame. He scratched the back of his neck awkwardly. "But… I can help with the packing. Maybe handle the orders and guide them through what goes where."
Gray's lips curved slightly.
"That's not a problem, Rome. That would still be a big help."
"Thank you, Sir." Rome lightly bowed his head.
Gray chuckled and shook his head.
"I'm the one who should be thanking all of you."
And so, with their roles falling into place naturally, they began working now.
Rome positioned himself near the counter for the online service where grocery bags were lined up. With a clipboard in his hand, he read out names and instructions, helping the other staff.
Everyone worked together.
He pointed out which delivery went where and grouped places that were near each other to see if they could deliver multiple orders in one go.
The four men, with the helmets still on their heads, responded with booming voices that echoed across the store.
"Yes, sir!"
"Got it, Rome!"
"Leave it to us!"
"We'll take care of this job!"
They moved with surprising eagerness. Each time they picked up a bag, their massive hands engulfed the plastic handles.
Customers and a few staff who happened to pass by stopped to watch the odd scene. They couldn't believe how four thugs were now acting as delivery riders. They were treating every grocery bag like it was a valuable treasure.
Despite their size, they were very careful. They handled each order with surprising gentleness. They place them carefully into an insulated delivery box strapped to their bikes.
At first, they fumbled a little with the straps and buckles, but with the help of Joel, who was also looking at them, they managed to correct it.
"No, not like that. Make sure it's balanced, or some of the orders will spill."
"Ah—right, right! Like this?"
"Yes, that's better. Tighten it more."
Within an hour, the chaos at the start began to calm down.
With 4 new additional riders, the orders were now going in swiftly.
The staff packed it, while Rome double-checked everything. Afterward, it was handed over to the men, who secured them with surprising efficiency.
By the second hour, the first delivery was ready to go. The four men rode their bikes, the engines sounding in unison. Their helmets hid their faces, but their body couldn't hide their excitement.
"Let's go, guys!"
"We can do this!"
"Let's see who can deliver the goods first!"
"Ha! It will be me!
"Dream on, stupid."
"The last one will be a pussy!"
"Pft-" Gray, who stood by the entrance with Joel and Rome, stifled his laughter.
"You'd think they were heading into battle," Joel muttered, shaking his head.
Gray smirked faintly. "At least, they looked determined and excited."
"Alright, guys, go on!" Gray announced to them.
The four men saluted.
"Yes, Boss!"
"Wait for us, Boss!"
"We will be back soon!"
"We will deliver more goods!"
And just like that, they drove to the road.
The first delivery was announced through the Jet2 app on their phones. Their customers were scattered around, but that was no big deal to them.
"Alright, fellas!" their leader roared out loud, his voice muffled through the helmet. "This is our first mission!"
"Yes, Sir!" the others responded in unison, laughter bubbling through their voices.
Then, like a squad, they continued driving, side by side.
The sound of their engines rumbled down the street. Their four motorbikes lined up side by side like they were in a parade.
The people on the pedestrian turned to look, some in confusion, while some with faint amusement. They were amused to see massive riders on the road with delivery boxes strapped securely behind them.
But only a few minutes into the ride, the inevitable happened. The four reached a major intersection, and their routes began to split.
The leader slowed down first, raising his hand in a commanding wave.
"Alright, brothers! This is where we part ways. Don't get lost. And remember, no mistakes!"
"Got it!"
"Don't worry, boss! I'll handle mine like a pro!"
"See you at the store, losers. The fastest one wins! I will call you all a pussy if I arrive first!"
