Chapter 541: Do Not Read
"Haa... Haa..."
Atop a mountain, a young man in his mid twenties, his body covered in bruises and cuts, blood gushing out of some extreme ones. The injuries on his body would have given anyone a nightmare, no matter how strong their stomach was.
The mountain, however, wasn't anything normal. Bodies of monsters that could destroy cities were stacked upon each other to make a mountain. But it wasn't just one. There were hundreds of mountains in the area, and the number of monsters was in the millions, if not billions.
[The subspace ring has run out of space]
'Buy another one.' Wei Jun said.
[Coins -1,000,000]
The mountain beneath him began to magically disappear into the subspace ring that had appeared in his hand. The reason?
[Inventory is full]
[Please clear space to store more]
For the first time ever since Wei Jun got there, the inventory had become full. Not only that...
[The subspace ring has run out of space]
'Purchase another one.' Wei Jun once again said and purchased another ring to store another mountain of monsters.
Just like that, the mountains of monster corpses kept disappearing in Wei Jun's subspace rings one by one. In the end, finally, when the mountains of monsters had run out, Wei Jun stood straight, his clothes nowhere to be seen on his body, and the injuries he had were long healed.
"My, oh my." Wei Jun heard the voice of the trial master, "That is something that has never happened in the history of my tower. Makes one wonder, very hard, about your existence."
Wei Jun kept breathing hard and took slow and small steps.
"When I was given the tower, the number of monsters was already a staggering amount of 300,000. After millions of years of breeding, they reached an amount that even I couldn't count. For you to defeat all of them, and most of all..." The voice paused as Wei Jun also paused in front of a dead creature who was covered in injuries like Wei Jun.
An almighty beast of the legends, one Wei Jun had seen before on many occasions, so he knew what it was.
"...To defeat the overlord of the tower, the berserker dragon Balthazar. I am, tremendously, in awe."
Wei Jun ignored the words of the trial master and touched the corpse of the dragon. The dragon that was as big as a skyscraper, and so big in length that even the entirety of Yuan Yin city could be covered by it, lay dead before him.
'Transfer monsters from the inventory to the subspace ring.' Wei Jun said, and once the ring was full, he stored it in the inventory and stored the dragon's corpse along with it.
Finally, he heaved a sigh of relief and fell, no strength left in his body anymore.
The next time he opened his eyes, he found himself in a familiar room. No, it was even better than before. A giant hallway that didn't come close to the size of the dining room that Wei Jun was in before. The gold wasn't sparkling just like before, but it was too much to even evoke Wei Jun's greed despite the situation he was in.
"So? What are you going to ask this time? My life experience?" The voice straightforwardly asked.
"Yes." Wei Jun replied.
"I was jesting." The man replied.
"I'm not. Your experience as a mage. Your battle experience, more specifically. Give me everything of it." Wei Jun replied.
"My experience as a mage, you say?" The man asked before he said, "Ahan~ I understand."
"But what you are asking for is not something that can be given as a merit for this trial. I admit your performance was, well, something I never expected. But still, the reward is not proportional to the effort." The man replied.
"Then?" Wei Jun asked. It was simple; if it wasn't equal, then what was it that could be done to even the scale?
"Three favors. If you promise to fulfill three favors of mine, I shall grant you your wish." The man replied.
"..." Wei Jun stopped. Had it been anyone else, someone in the outside world, or someone who Wei Jun was confident in facing one day after growing stronger, Wei Jun would have said 'Yes' in a heartbeat. However, he couldn't. The entity before him was too powerful.
Not to mention, he was quite angry with him and hated him to a good extent as well.
'What do you think?' Wei Jun asked.
[I think you should agree]
[Ultimate Xavier is not an evil guy]
[Whatever it is, it wouldn't come down to a fight between the two of you]
'...' Wei jun once again mused for a while, but not for too long this time, and nodded, "Very well. I agree."
"Good choice. Then my first favor is that you answer one question of mine." The voice gleefully said.
"Upheld your side of the deal first." Wei Jun said.
"That would be a bit difficult if you passed out like before." The voice said, and Wei Jun went silent. He nodded and replied, "Fine. What do you wanna know?"
"What's your name?" The man asked.
"..." Wei Jun remained silent. No, his name as Wei Jun, wasn't being asked. It was something else.
"Damien Smith." Wei Jun replied.
"That's a strange name. Smith. I've heard a similar one before. Gabriel Smith." The voice replied.
Wei Jun reacted slightly, but he quickly held himself back. The familiar name mentioned surely had a history with Xavier, the trial master, but Wei Jun knew doing anything at the moment would be akin to giving something away.
"Tch. You're no fun." The voice replied before it said, "Well, now let's take care of my side of the deal."
Once again, the familiar scene occurred, and gold began to shine to the point Wei Jun had to close his eyes before he opened his eyes and saw the state of the room he was in. Or the lack of it.
The room didn't exist anymore. All around him was a dark black space.
"That is the price of your request, even after granting me three favors." The man said before...
"Argh!!!"
Wei Jun clutched his head, even though he was prepared for what was to come. Still, he couldn't. The amount of information pouring into his head was way, way more than before. This one wasn't normal. This was hell. He recognized his mistake, but it was too late.
Such knowledge at once was something even his mind couldn't process.
While he was still in pain, he passed out, and the voice remained silent this time.
Wei Jun didn't know how much time had passed, but when he opened his eyes, he found himself in a luxurious room that screamed extravagance. The room that was kept with a theme of white shone with the sunlight coming through the curtains.
White stone, white marble, white pillars, white bed, white bed sheets, white cupboards, and even the clothes worn on the man's body were white.
"Have you awakened, son?" He heard a voice in British English and turned to it. Just as he did, his breath was caught in his throat as fear spread through his entire being. He had difficulty breathing, but it was only him. The person himself was quite calm as he said, "What brings you here, Father?"
Wei Jun, on the other hand, couldn't even look at him.
The man before him, he could only hear his voice. Other than that, he could see nothing. His gaze was too scared to rise. The same type of fear he had felt once before. Not from the members of his family, as one would think.
From the man who was the overseer, Si Jie's father. The presence emanating from the old man was the same.
"I am not here as your father today, Xavier." The old man said. Once again, Wei Jun could only hear the voice as his difficult breathing prevented him from looking at him.
"Oh, my apologies then," The man said, the familiar voice of the trial master flowed in Wei Jun's ears.
"Let me rephrase myself, since the earlier title was never made for you," Xavier said in a sarcastic voice and then continued...
"How may I help you, Your Majesty, Emperor of the Ashguard Empire?"
Finally, Wei Jun raised his head after he was used to the pressure a bit, and as he did, he lost consciousness before he could fully gaze at him.
All he saw was...
Eyes that pierced through his very existence.
'... Jun...'
'..Jun..!!'
"..Jun!!"
"Wei Jun!!!"
Looking into those eyes, that threatened to swallow him whole, he could hear someone calling his name. He tried to tear his eyes away, but no matter what he did, he couldn't look away.
In the end...
"PAH!!!"
"Kugh!" Wei Jun woke up with a grunt with a slight pain in his cheek. In front of him, Natasha and Morial were standing, with Morial rubbing his hand.
"You're finally awake," Natasha said.
"Eh?" was all Wei Jun could say as he asked, "Where... was I?"
