Chapter 126: Shopping time~2!
"Did you hand him? The Bracelet?"
It was just some minutes before Seth's selection match with Kevin was about to start when a hooded figure asked a certain pink-haired girl in a suspicious tone.
"Of course I did and why the Hood when it was only the two of us, Arata~"
In response, the pinkette replied in a sly tone as she pronounced the name of her partner in crime.
Arata annoyingly uncovered his face before glaring at the woman whom he could never think to be so well versed in her acting. Not only did she convince everyone around her that she felt remorseful for the way she acted around Seth in the past but also was able to forward the curse-induced artifact in the shape of the bracelet to the bespectacled bastard named Seth.
Initially, Arata also didn't trust her but when he saw the flames of vengeance Laila had in her eyes for getting back at Seth for the insult her parents has faced because of this broken engagement and the way Duchess Valarie had treated Laila's mother and father, Arata got assured that for her benefits Laila would help him.
The artifact which Arata forwarded to Seth was no ordinary curse possessor rather until it is not invoked the curse remains dormant and could not be sensed even by the highest-ranking appraiser whatsoever.
But once Arata finds his past life 'friend' getting in his way, the future hero would gladly use the curse which would eat away Seth's soul.
"It's hard to convince myself that someone like that cautious bastard could accept a gift from his ex-fiancee."
"Well, he's still in love with me so just pretending to be cute and clumsy around him does the job to take his mind off the real subject. Tehee~"
The way her real self exposes time to time sends a shiver down Arata's spine as he always reminded himself to stay as far away as he could from this woman. Of course, once her job gets done or any chance of Laila getting caught arises, Arata had an arrangement to cease her existence as well which Laila herself knows as well.
The trigger Arata possesses would kill the pink haired anytime he senses betrayal or any foolishness which could cause Arata heavily.
However, for now, Laila has proven her worth, and Arata has inched more toward his goal.
With a cold grin, Arata covered his face again before leaving the room as a thought emerged in his mind.
'Too sad Seth...you never deserved true love... '
*************
The next day, around eleven in the morning a small group of three girls could be seen walking on the streets through the market while gossiping amongst themselves, except for one of them who was just nodding or replying in few words from time to time.
The passersby involuntarily were getting dazed at the sight of the three beauties who had their specific charm and with those features, it could not be an exaggeration to say that they seemed nothing less than angels.
"What kind of dress you would be wearing? I can take you to a shop according to your preference." Ignoring all the stares from her surroundings like Serena was used to it, she asked Ciel as they aimlessly made their way through the market.
"No clue. Suggest me something." Ciel responded with a blank face since even though she tried to think what kind of clothes she could wear on the occasion, all she came up with was silver-plated armor which surely was not appropriate.
"Hmmm...do you want to impress someone then I would like to know about them-ah! I bet you would like to get President's attention right, Ms. Secretary?"
In return to the grin of the blonde, Ciel didn't reply instantly rather she glanced at Anabelle with a nervous look only to feel the chills of her life running across her spine. Anabelle seemed dead horrifying with those blank eyes and chilly aura.
"I-It's not something like that...and what about you? Aren't you looking forward to ensnaring your childhood friend's heart?"
To forcibly change the topic before Anabelle goes on a rampage Ciel picked the topic she only knows about Serena other than that she was in the first year.
At the query, Serena had a startled expression, not embarrassed but genuinely surprised.
"Does it look like that with me and Arata? Well, I don't know if there was such an air but I really do not have anything beyond friendship with him. Though I doubt whether now we are even friends or not..." The last of the words she mumbled to herself with slight sorrow spread across her face.
Although Serena doesn't show it, the absence of her cheerful childhood friend from her life has undoubtedly been weighing her but seeing that Arata was better off left alone now, Serena didn't approach him ever after that.
"Is it important to wear something to impress someone, you two? Wearing it to look good for oneself is also something to feel encouraged about."
Whether it was to lift the heavy mood or the raven-haired genuinely felt the words she spoke, it certainly helped Serena to walk out of her depressing state as she gave an understanding nod to Anabelle. Even Ciel was surprised and impressed at her friend's motivating words.
All three of them soon cheered up and with a smile continued their chatting as they made their way to a well-known store for apparel.
Disregarding what the future has in store or what disaster was approaching, all three of them decided to spend their time having fun until they could.
A storm was brewing and only God knows what loss these three and many more like them would face...

A/N: - Sorry for the short chapter.
I initially thought to write a shopping filler but well it's time to move the plot to the biggest arc up to this date.
Many things are about to change. Stay tuned.
