Strongest Soldier King

Chapter 1069: Tang Tian's Fury

The first to rush up was surprisingly Tang Tian. She had already heard the wolf's howl earlier and realized something was wrong when she couldn't find the White Wolf King. Leading her people over, she arrived at the scene to see the White Wolf King shot to pieces. Her face went pale, silver teeth clenching, and a cold gaze full of endless chill looked towards the dense forest on the mountain top. Her whole body slightly trembled, unable to speak from anger.

Luo Zheng's furious roar shook Tang Tian, and she immediately reacted, a towering rage surged to her mind as she saw that familiar silhouette about to disappear. She couldn't help but let out a hysterical roar, "Chase them for me."

The members of the Wild Wolf Mercenary Group knew of the bond between the White Wolf King and Tang Tian; they had played together since childhood, their relationship was deep like family. Now that the White Wolf King was dead, and died so miserably, everyone wore grim faces, filled with murderous intent. Upon hearing Tang Tian's order for pursuit, nobody objected, nor would they object. The White Wolf King held a high status in everyone's hearts, as a brother in life and death, as family. They all howled as they charged towards the mountain top.

As elite members of the Wild Wolf Mercenary Group ranked high in the mercenary world, they weren't driven by hatred recklessly. While fiercely pursuing with howls, their cold gazes fixed on the route taken by the running Black Shadow ahead. Having witnessed the power of button bombs more than once, the Wild Wolf Mercenary Group became much more cautious, following the route of Luo Zheng and Lan Xue in their mad chase, afraid of stepping on a bomb.

In front, Luo Zheng and Lan Xue dared not look back, their eyes fixed on the ground. They avoided any place with fresh leaves, knowing button bombs were buried there. Mountain Eagle was targeting the incoming enemies, but because the forest was too dense and the opponents were running too fast, it was hard to aim. Seeing the enemy perhaps unable to fire due to the dense forest, they simply followed Luo Zheng and Lan Xue's route, without checking underfoot, Mountain Eagle sneered.

"Boom!" A member of the Wild Wolf Mercenary Group running second stepped on a button bomb, and the wild explosive force flipped the two people before and behind him. Three members of the Wild Wolf Mercenary Group fell to the ground, silent, their fates unknown. The people behind saw this and immediately became cautious, hiding instead of pursuing further.

Mountain Eagle was not going to let these people have peace, quickly locked onto a person hiding behind a big tree. From his angle, he could see one of the opponent's legs. He sneered and squeezed the trigger.

"Whiz!" The sniper bullet roared out of the chamber, like a grinning Death God in the twilight forest, creating terrifying shockwaves, instantly drilling into the target, twisting at high speed, tearing the target's leg into two, blood surged.

"Ah!" The person whose leg was hit let out a heart-wrenching scream, echoing far in the night.

The eerie scream made Tang Tian suddenly calm down. Her face cold, she stared at the dense forest ahead, releasing an overwhelming icy aura filled with endless hatred. But soon, this aura was withdrawn, disappearing. Unwillingly, Tang Tian shouted, "Retreat."

Facing the dangerous forest, unpredictable minefields, Tang Tian knew that with only her people, she couldn't attack successfully. Without the White Wolf King, without the wolf pack, their strength fell by nearly half. Tang Tian had to seriously consider future matters; she couldn't make unnecessary sacrifices.

The Wild Wolf Mercenary Group retreated in humiliation, seeing Tang Tian collecting the remains of the White Wolf King. Everyone's faces were grim without speaking. Seeing a large crowd gathering nearby, they became alert, spreading out to guard, not allowing others to get too close. Piero, limping from his injuries, walked up alone, the Wild Wolf Mercenary Group let him through.

"Miss Tang, are you alright?" Piero asked, pretending to be sincere.

Tang Tian didn't reply but instead took off her coat, wrapping the White Wolf King's bones, fastening it securely. She slowly stood up, saying flatly, "I'm fine. I just want to be alone for a while. Let me know when it's time to attack." She walked away, her whole body emitting a grim killing intent, like a volcano ready to erupt at any moment.

"Alright." Piero, seeing Tang Tian filled with hatred, continuing to support him, felt delighted inside, but managed to show a bit of sympathy on his face, regretfully saying, "Accept my condolences."

Tang Tian paused, her cold aura intensifying, yet without looking back she walked ahead, the Wild Wolf Mercenary Group followed behind her protectively, vigilantly watching around. Everyone was bound by interests and could turn against each other for the same reason at any time. Having seen such matters often, they had to be cautious.

Once Tang Tian left, others gathered around Piero as the center. Bloodsucker coldly glanced towards the mountain top direction, speaking softly, "Looks like we missed the best time to attack. They've already set up defenses on the mountainside. But these little tricks won't hold us back. What should we do next?"

"If it can't stop you, it won't stop us either. Follow the plan; we'll continue to take the lead. No one is allowed to compete with us." The Snow Bear Captain spoke nonchalantly, carrying strong confidence.

Bloodsucker shot a cold gaze at Snow Bear Captain, remaining silent. The two considered each other mortal enemies, would not have united without Luo Zheng because of the trigger device. But it was a fact Snow Bear took down dozens of Bloodsucker members. This score had to be settled eventually. They appeared friendly but internally were wary of each other.

"Alright, the plan stays unchanged. Everyone, go back and prepare." Piero hurriedly interjected to prevent another internal conflict.

Everyone quickly withdrew, soon disappeared from view.

On the mountaintop, Hook was treating the wounded Wild Wolves. Luo Zheng, grim-faced, came to the cave entrance, sat on a stone, his cold gaze watched the surroundings. The traps being laid out across the mountainside forest took a vast area, requiring lots of time and manpower. The foot of the mountain returned to peace, but Luo Zheng felt uneasy inside, inadvertently raising his eyes to gaze at the bright moon above, frowning in thought.

"What are you thinking about?" Lan Xue gently walked over, jumped onto the stone, sat beside Luo Zheng, leaned her body against him, gently closed her eyes, savoring this rare moment of tranquility, softly murmuring, "How wonderful would it be if there were no war, and humans coexisted peacefully?"

"Unless humanity unites, but the first to disagree would be the leaders of different countries. Forget it, we're soldiers, don't ponder such matters. Just be loyal, do our duty, uphold our roles. I estimate the coalition will attack tonight, but it's hard to predict their specific tactics. What do you think?" Luo Zheng spoke softly.

"Before dark, they did a feint. Next, it will be either attacking from all sides or focusing on breakthroughs. Our troops are spread on all sides. We aren't afraid no matter which direction they attack from." Lan Xue said lightly.

"What if they focus on breakthroughs?" Luo Zheng casually asked, suddenly his eyes widened, bursting with a sharp look, his whole body tensed, face turned solemnly towards the direction of the forest at the foot of the mountain.

"What's wrong?" Lan Xue asked in surprise.
