Chapter 596: The Queen and Her Child
Jason told Ragnar to stop, and he came down and stood on a large black platform before Ragnar vanished back into his Alternate Dimension. Jason watched as the Beast drew closer, and he felt an intense surge of hatred in his heart as he glared at the monster. This bastard had been a fucking thorn in Jason's side for far too long, and Jason was starting to get genuinely pissed!
BUUUOOOHHH!
The beast let out another loud, world-shattering bellow as it drew closer. The beast was walking on top of the frozen ocean, and all around it, the massive gale wind from its snowstorm raged uncontrollably. Jason waited until the beast was close enough to see him, and he brought his middle finger up and flipped the monster off just for the fuck of it before he activated [King's Substitute] and vanished. The beast was shocked when it saw Jason vanish, and a large [Swamp Viper] appeared in his place. The moment the viper appeared, it immediately activated a skill, and the beast covered its face as the viper blew up in a massive explosion!
KA-BOOM!!
The beast remembered this skill from all the times it had faced Jason before, and it knew that Jason had simply changed locations. The beast allowed its senses to spread out across the land again, and it picked out the new location where Jason had appeared before it turned and began to walk forward. The beast didn't even feel the need to run after Jason. Its senses were so strong that it could pick out Jason's mana from more than a hundred dimensional leaps away, and that meant that as long as Jason was within this region of the Primordial Dimension, the beast would find him and kill him.
On the other side of the world, Jason landed on a black platform over the frozen ocean, and he looked behind him to see that the beast was already heading in his direction again. That fucking relentless bastard. Jason frowned in annoyance as this thought went through his head, and he shook his head before turning around and unleashing a significant amount of mana. A large Dimensional Circle tore through the air in front of Jason, and Jason walked through.
….
Somewhere, ten dimensional leaps away from where Jason and the beast were having their standoff, a white [Snow Rabbit] hopped across a frozen landscape while looking around for any food. The rabbit had come to this world by following the Beast of the Apocalypse, and it had an abundance of meals from all the people and creatures that the beast had frozen! If there was one species that truly benefited from the Beast's rampage, then it was definitely the [Snow Rabbit].
Stab!
A golden spear suddenly came down on the rabbit's head and stabbed it into the ground faster than the rabbit could react. The man holding the spear frowned as he looked down at the rabbit, and he only glanced around the frozen landscape for a moment before he pulled his spear back and flew through the air quickly while following the icy path of destruction that had been laid out by the beast. The man had on a set of majestic golden armor that made him look like a General in a powerful army, but his expression was calm, and anyone who saw it would immediately think it was very non-threatening.
The man had an aristocratic appearance with long white hair that flowed behind him freely and a sturdy build that had been forged through vigorous training. As he travelled, the man easily crossed various Dimensional Tears while making his way towards the Beast's current location, but he eventually slowed and stopped his flight when he reached the large city in the middle of Yortsed. The entire city had been frozen over, and the people in it were immortalized in silver. It was obvious that the Beast had been here very recently, but it was also obvious that the Beast didn't stay here for long, since this was the only part of Yortsed that had frozen. If the beast stayed here for long, it would have frozen the entire world. But even though he tried to remain unaffected, the mere sight of this city caused an intense surge of anger to rise from within the man's heart and he had to take a breath to calm himself before he blasted off again with renewed hatred for the beast. When he found that creature, he was going to pay it back for all the destruction it had caused.

[The World of Vanta]
[With Gina]
Gina was sitting at the edge of a tall building and looking up at the moon in the sky with a faraway look on her face. There were various mages and repairmen moving around the castle behind her as they tried to fix the damage that had been caused during her fight with General Zod, and even though Gina wanted to help them out, she was too preoccupied with worrying about Jason. Gina had tried speaking to Jason earlier after she had a feeling that something had gone wrong on his mission, and Jason's response made it obvious that there was a very serious problem. But Jason told Gina not to come and help out, so right now, Gina could only wonder what was going on. There weren't a lot of problems in this part of the Primordial Domain that Jason couldn't have easily handled, so whatever was going on had to be a pretty big deal.
"What are you doing sitting here alone, daughter. You should be resting."
Gina blinked in shock and turned around when she heard a familiar voice, and she smiled when she saw Queen Bethsha landing on the roof softly with two cups in her hand. Queen Bethsha walked over and handed Gina one of the cups and Gina took it gratefully before she answered.
"I just couldn't sleep, sorry."
"There's no need to apologise. I'm just worried about you. But if something is troubling you and you desire to speak about it, then I would be more than willing to lend you a listening ear. Did something happen, child?"
Gina almost laughed at how easily Queen Bethsha managed to read her. Gina already knew that she wasn't the best at hiding her emotions, but Gina was sure that it was even easier for Queen Bethsha to read her since the Queen was so used to dealing with people on a daily basis. Gina went silent for a while as she wondered if she should talk about this or not, and she eventually decided that it might be better to share her worries. Gina spoke about how Jason was facing something dangerous, and he didn't want her to be there to help him. Queen Bethsha hummed when she heard this, and she put one hand in her pocket and took a sip from her cup while glancing up at the sky. There was silence for a few seconds before she finally spoke.
"Have you thought that perhaps he is trying to protect you?"
"Of course I have. It's just…"
Gina trailed off, and Queen Bethsha nodded in understanding. If there was one thing that Queen Bethsha knew about very well, it was the pain of seeing someone you love in trouble and not being able to do anything about it. Queen Bethsha let out a small sigh as she spoke again.
"You know, the first time I learned about Richard's world being destroyed, I almost drank myself to death. Back then, I didn't know if Richard was alive or dead, and the only thing I thought about was going out there to try and find him. All my sister-wives had the same thought as well, and there were some who actually went out to search. But I realised that I had a responsibility both to my people and to the child that Richard had given me, and Richard wouldn't want me to risk my life against monsters that were far stronger than me. Protecting myself and my child was what Richard would want me to do, just like protecting yourself and your child is what Jason would want you to do—"
"Huh?"
