Chapter 588: The World of Yortsed
"Whoever drew your rune obviously despised you, and it shows in the soulless art. Let me show you what it means to have your runes made by a true Runemaster."
Gina put her hand forward, and a complex rune suddenly began to reveal itself across her entire arm! The rune had been drawn like intertwining vines swerving and twisting together as they travelled down her whole arm, over her chest, and towards her heart. Once the rune revealed itself, it began to glow with a dark blue light as Gina poured mana into it! This rune was something that Jason had crafted for Gina during their training a long time ago. It was known as [Force Multiplier], and it was an original Rune that Jason created to help Gina with her wind arrows. Any attack that Gina launches while this rune is active would receive a 200% boost in Kinetic Energy, and that boost would also greatly increase the destructive power of the attack! Gina had never used it before since it took a few seconds to charge it up and activate, but now that she was fighting someone like Zod, she finally decided to reveal what her lover had gifted her!
The winds around Gina immediately picked up speed and began to create a massive typhoon across the sky of Vanta! The bright moonlight shone down on Gina and Zod, illuminating their intense standoff, and Gina smiled as she began to create hundreds of wind arrows all around her! The arrows were long and massive, like spears belonging to a wind deity, and Gina's runes glowed with intense power as she poured even more mana into them, and her arrows grew in number until they began to block out the moon itself!
"You'd better defend this attack like your life depends on it, Zod. Because it definitely does."
Gina said this with a bloodthirsty smile, and at the next moment, she released her hold on the arrows and allowed them to shoot forward like Gatling guns!
TWOON! TWOON! TWOON! TWOON!
Even in his mindless state, Zod was still able to sense the grave danger that he was in, and he immediately turned and dashed away from the arrows while creating a massive ball of water around him as extra protection! But Gina knew that all of Zod's efforts were useless! If these wind arrows were just her regular attacks, then maybe he wouldn't have been able to outrun them! But the arrows had all been supercharged with the power from Jason's Runes! Gina knew that no matter what Zod did at this moment, there was no escape!
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Shatter!
All it took was three arrows striking against the water barrier for it to shatter into a million pieces! And in the next moment, Zod let out a bloodcurdling scream as multiple arrows stabbed into him from behind! Gina's lips split into an even wider smile as another dark green rune suddenly glowed on her other arm, and Gina pointed her hand towards Zod's body and snapped her finger!
Snap!
KA-BOOOOMMMM!!
All the mana outside of Gina's body immediately exploded in a fiery crescendo that lit up the entire sky, and Gina couldn't help but laugh in pure excitement when she saw Zod getting enveloped in the explosion! Gina couldn't believe how sadistic Jason was! The rune that Gina just used was called the [Pyromatic Combustion]. The rune works by latching onto any spell that you craft using magic. After launching a spell, the magic used to create the spell is slowly consumed until it vanishes. But if you time the [Pyromatic Combustion] rune just right, then you can catch the magic just before it vanishes and ignite it to create a massive explosion. It was a simple Fourth Grade Rune since the size of the explosion depended greatly on the strength of the mana you possess, but when you pair it with magic that was as powerful as Gina's own, then you would get a massive reaction!
'So this is why Jason told me to try using these two runes together. I can't believe I haven't used this sooner. Runes are amazing.'

Jason's plan for dealing with Zod and ruining the assassination attempt on Kai's life was something straightforward, and Jason knew that dealing with that wouldn't be difficult, but Jason also knew that the second part of his mission would be more dangerous. From the memories of the bandits, Jason learned that there was someone out there who had been planning to buy Kai from Zod, so this meant that Jason needed to find out what this person wanted with his brother.
The head of the bandits that Jason had resurrected a while ago gave Jason all the information that he had, and although the bandit wasn't aware of Zod's involvement in this entire deal, the bandit knew the location where Zod had been planning to go and trade Kai! And Jason decided that he was going to find out exactly who it was that was planning to buy his brother like some common slave!
Yortsed was a beautiful world filled with various fantastical creatures and large cities. Just like many fantasy worlds, it was made up of different races that managed to live together peacefully, but the dominant race in this world was a race known as the Tyrila. They were humanoid creatures with white skin and black eyes, and they were a very religious group who saw their king as the reincarnation of the god that they worshipped, Humana.
Jason's subordinates made their way through the large world of Yortsed, and they eventually reached a large city that was surrounded by a massive forest. This was the main city of Yortsed, where the King, as well as many of his cabinet members lived, and there was an entire settlement as well as a large market that surrounded the castle and made the entire city very lively! It was currently nighttime, but there were bright lights from torches and magic balls that were floating around the town lazily, and they illuminated the busy streets and stalls all around the city. This city was known as the City that Never Sleeps, because it didn't matter what time of day you came out to the streets, there would always be sellers who were eager to draw you in and make you spend your gold. Jason's subordinates made sure not to be seen as they travelled through the shadows, and it wasn't long before they reached an area on the outskirts of the city that was drowned in darkness.
This region didn't have any torches or magic balls, and there were shady-looking stores with dangerous-looking creatures standing around in alleyways and corners. This was the lower districts of the city, and it was where most shady deals and unlawful activities were carried out. If you needed anything from slaves to poison, and even illegal potions or monster organs as ingredients for a magic experiment, then this was where you would need to come to. The subordinates arrived at an abandoned alley tucked away between two buildings, and the bandit boss rose from the shadows and looked around calmly for the person he was meant to meet there. For a few minutes, there was no one, but it wasn't long before a figure began to walk out from the shadowed alleyway. The figure was extremely short and a little fat. It wore a long robe over its entire body, and there was a hood that covered its head and only revealed the bottom part of its face. Behind its back, there was a long tail that twitched randomly, and the figure looked around suspiciously to make sure there was no one else there.
Once the figure was close enough, it spoke to the bandit leader in a squeaky rat-like voice.
"You are the bandit sent to make the trade, aren't you? Where is the package? If you came here without it, then don't expect to leave here alive."
