Streaming of a Reincarnated Genius

Chapter 06

Episode 6

Streamer Battle (3) – knights of honor

When dealing with a charging cavalry attack, there were usually two simple options:

1. Move to the side and dodge.

2. Strengthen the formation with spearmen and knock the cavalry down instead.

But in this narrow hallway, with no spearmen or even long weapons, neither option was possible.

“Everyone, back! Run back the way we came, now!!”

— “No, we can’t! Hold your ground!” —

[LOL this is chaos]

[Don’t run! Fight back!]

[z…]

— “Please let us pass~.”

— “Aaaah!!”

Trapped in a situation where they could neither escape nor fight properly, the Southpaw team panicked, running around in confusion. In the end, all four fell, screaming helplessly.

[LOLOLOLOL]

[Cavalry wins!! They couldn’t hold their ground!]

[Southpaw has died.]

The results were not just a moment of laughter.

— “Oh no, what now?! The event is falling apart!”

— “Come on, Southpaw’s squad can’t get wiped out this easily!”

— “If this keeps up, they’ll lose control of the frontlines!”

— “Wait, where is that group going now?”

Ignoring the battlefield chaos behind them, four players slipped away toward the final objective of Phase 1: the fortress gate.

— “Look at this, they’re going for a backdoor strategy!”

— “But can four people really break through the fortress gate?”

The commentators were confused at first, but their confusion soon turned into shock.

Instead of attacking the gate directly, the four players ran toward a supply cart parked nearby. Inside the cart were cannon ammunition and… several barrels of gunpowder.

“Wait a minute… if those explode, will they damage the gate?”

— “Probably? The real question is, can they set them off in time?”

— “Oh no, wait… it’s about to blow!!!”

The casters watched, mouths open in disbelief.

Dropping their weapons, the four reckless players each grabbed a barrel of gunpowder and sprinted toward the gate at full speed.

There was no need to explain their plan.

[LOL they’re suicide bombing the gate]

[How much research did they do on this game?!]

[Is this even medieval warfare anymore?]

[Can anyone stop them?!]

— “No! Stop them!”

— “I’m stuck! Someone go after them!!”

Just as four cavalry units stormed in from behind, the defending players screamed in panic.

But the attackers didn’t care.

The four cavalry riders charged forward, a reckless suicide attack with no way back.

The first to go was Hoyangbo, the crazy chicken.

“Hello!! It’s your favorite Hoyangbo!! Make sure to capture my heroics beautifully—”

–BOOM!

The second was Garibi.

“Hey everyone, it’s Garibi! Like and sub for some hot seafood stew—”

— BOOM!

[Wait, why are they doing introductions mid-suicide run?! LOL]

[These guys are actual streamers LMAO]

[The gate’s already at half HP wtf]

The third was Choran.

“PEOPLE ARE DYINGGGG!!!”

–BOOM!

[Who the heck is ‘People’?! LMAOOO]

And finally, Mars.

“CHAAARGE!! FOR THE EMPEROR!!!”

[DID THEY EVEN PLAN THIS TOGETHER?!]

[Why is every one of them on a different script LOL]

The casters were laughing so hard they could barely breathe, some even choking mid-sentence.

But in that chaos, all four barrels of gunpowder exploded.

With a loud crash, the fortress gate collapsed completely.

<3-Minute Break Before Phase 2 Begins>

In the real history of this game, this strategy was discovered two months later and immediately nerfed. But tonight, it had both its glorious debut and final moment at the same time.

Phase 1 had ended far too quickly in a completely unexpected way.

Then came Phase 2.

Summary of Phase 2:

[No gunpowder in Phase 2. Just a fair, skill-based fight.]

[Or so you thought. Turns out you just didn’t research enough, buddy~]

With no side paths, no explosive barrels, and seemingly no tricks left, everyone expected a pure skill battle.

That assumption shattered immediately.

Because Hoyangbo’s team suddenly broke formation and started climbing the half-broken fortress wall instead.

— “Wow!! Hoyangbo’s squad STILL has more tricks?!”

— “Wait, you can climb this wall?! How did they even figure this out?!”

[Did they get insider info or something? LOL]

[Their research level is just on another scale.]

[If Hoyangbo’s team were cute strategist geniuses, big thumbs up!]

The viewers loved what was happening.

To be honest, Phase 2 of Messeri’s Blood wasn’t usually that exciting. The battlefield was too straightforward, leading to stale, repetitive fights.

Some worried that the audience might get bored.

But—

[Stalemate? Nah, Hoyangbo already solved that problem~]

[Wait, Phase 2 can actually be fun?!]

[This is hilarious LOL]

— “Wait! I didn’t even know you could stand in that spot!?”

— “Hoyangbo’s team is perfectly using cover and positioning!”

Three archers had taken a weird elevated spot near the enemy’s flank, raining arrows non-stop.

Even if the defenders tried to counter with their own archers, the high ground and cover gave Hoyangbo’s team a massive advantage. A proper front-line fight never even happened.

And then—

— “Who IS this Mars guy?! He’s holding off a whole squad ALONE?!”

The enemy infantry tried and failed to break through. One single heavy knight stood in their way, and they just couldn’t get past him.

“I have the high ground.”

[Oh no, not the high ground meme LOL]

[If you watched, you already know how this ends.]

And just like that, the defenders lost again.

<3-Minute Break Before Phase 3 Begins>

For Southpaw’s team—who had entered this event seriously aiming for the championship—this was beyond frustrating.

“Ugh, what do we do now?! Chat is probably on fire right now!”

“There’s nothing we CAN do. This is just karma.”

But among all of them, one person was having the worst time.

“By the way, who are Hoyangbo’s teammates? They kept mentioning ‘Saraming’ earlier—do you know them?”

“Uh… not personally. We’ve just talked a few times in the same creator network.”

“Oh. Saraming’s a Twitch partner, right? That explains it. I probably should’ve heard of them, but I haven’t.”

“Haha… yeah, well, same here…”

Saraming forced a smile, but inside, it was pure agony.

“Ugh. These guys are completely useless. Do they even realize how rare this opportunity was?!”

Saraming was a small-time streamer trying to break into the big leagues.

When the huge corporation S-Deer announced a tournament and invited streamers with ‘Sa’ in their names, Saraming jumped at the chance.

Most of the invitees were already big names, so getting a spot was nearly impossible.

But then—by pure luck—Saraming discovered a hidden shortcut on this new battlefield. That one trick got them a chance to join a team with big-name creators.

It was supposed to be the perfect opportunity to grow their audience.

And then— Mars ruined everything.

Where did he even come from?!

His skills were far from normal.

He played right at the edge of dirty tactics but never crossed the line. He was basically an annoying sniper—yet even the big-name streamers admitted he was good at the game.

The casters had said he was a brand-new streamer who just started this week. But was that even true? It seemed hard to believe.

“Ugh, whatever. What’s done is done.”

“We haven’t lost yet. Just stick to the plan and do our best!”

“Southpaw, fighting!!”

“Fighting!”

But could things really go that smoothly?

Just as the leader from S-Deer Corp managed to lift everyone’s spirits—

DING!

Be careful! If the prince is defeated, your team loses the match!

“Oh! We got the Royal Guard role! This is our chance!”

“Yeah! We had a rough start, but this makes up for it!”

Saraming’s eyes lit up with determination.

“Guys, this is it. Our chance to turn everything around.”

“Hoyangbo’s team has been avoiding direct fights, right? Why?”

“Because they can’t win against us in a fair fight!”

“That’s why they keep relying on gimmicks. But now? We’re on defense. They HAVE to face us head-on!”

“As long as we don’t mess up, we can pull off a comeback victory! We can turn the audience back in our favor too!”

Saraming’s confidence spread to the rest of the team.

“You’re right. Let’s do this properly this time!”

“Southpaw, fighting!”

“Fighting!”

The audience watching the Southpaw team’s stream also agreed.

[Yeah, if they fight properly, this might turn around.]

[Southpaw’s comeback victory, let’s go!!]

[But that Mars guy… he was crazy good in Phase 2.]

[Doesn’t matter! He’s just a rookie!]

[LOL, do you really think that golden badge is just for decoration?]

Most of the tens of thousands of viewers watching the tournament hadn’t realized it yet.

But among the 100 or so people watching Hoyangbo’s team—

“Everyone ready?”

“Alright. Let’s show them…”

The four of them, who had deliberately acted like they feared direct combat, grinned.

They had just set their trap.

“Here we go! Phase 3 has officially begun!”

“The final battle is underway! The attackers must break through the defense and defeat the three princes within 10 minutes!”

BOOM!

The fortress doors shattered, revealing the final battlefield.

The attacking streamers charged forward with confidence, ready for a fair fight.

Waiting for them were 32 elite defenders—

—And the three princes, standing tall, golden swords gleaming in the torchlight.

“My knights, fight! Stop the wicked First Prince’s forces!”

The final battle had begun.

No more NPC soldiers—only real players fighting to the end.

All across the battlefield, streamers were falling, respawning, and charging back into the fray.

But the audience’s eyes were fixed on one place—

The Southpaw team, defending the prince.

And slowly, but surely, Hoyangbo’s squad was pushing forward.

[Whoa, Hoyangbo’s team is insane. Are they really just four players?]

[Their teamwork is crazy! But Mars seems to be carrying a lot.]

[Still, Southpaw won’t go down easy.]

[Let’s go, Southpaw!]

[Am I the only one cheering for Hoyangbo?]

[I put my money on Hoyangbo’s team. Let’s go, underdogs!]

[This is the best match so far!]

The battle between these two squads had become the most hyped moment of the tournament.

***

– Five minutes remaining!

– Attackers need to push harder! Time is running out!

And finally—it happened.

Hoyangbo’s squad broke through the defenses.

Now, only Southpaw’s final line stood in their way.

As the two teams faced off, Southpaw’s team leader took a deep breath.

They knew. Better than the audience.

The enemy wasn’t weak.

This would be a real fight.

“Then, let’s go.”

“We’ll handle the rest. Just do your thing.”

“Destroy them. Especially Saraming!”

As they exchanged a few last words—

One player stepped forward.

Alone.

Mars.

The chat exploded.

[Wait, is he serious?]

[Is he really staying behind alone??]

[FOUR versus ONE?!]

[He’s insane LOL]

[This isn’t even that kind of game??]

Even the audience rooting against Southpaw felt uncomfortable.

This wasn’t some power fantasy game where one player could take on a whole squad.

In Knights of Honor, where classes had balanced stats, fighting outnumbered was almost suicidal.

“What, in front of us? Does he think he’s invincible just because he played well earlier?”

“He’s just trying to look cool for the stream.”

Southpaw’s team raised their weapons, annoyed but ready.

“Let’s end this fast and help our teammates.”

The leader nodded.

Saraming stepped forward first.

“A perfect setup. The viewers will love this.”

But that wasn’t the only reason.

Saraming knew.

He wasn’t the strongest player.

Compared to his teammates, he was weaker.

That’s why he always played as a heavy infantry tank, standing in front, taking the hits first.

It was the only way to contribute.

If I block him for two… no, three attacks, the team will finish him off.”

Smart. Reliable. Self-sacrificing.

A small-time streamer with big potential.

That was Saraming.

Imagining his big future, he swung his sword.

…And then?

Saraming had a plan.

But only until the first clash.

– KRIK. CRACK.

Saraming had no real-life sword training.

So the only thing he understood was—

The moment the blades met, Mars’ sword moved like a snake.

Slipping past his guard, straight for his throat.

“ARGHH!!”

Saraming spun through the air.

Crashing onto the ground.

Silence.
