Chapter 5: SPHERES AND CHANGESITE
During excavations on the lunar surface, Stood and his team of scientists discovered a rare mineral, Changesite-(Y), whose unique properties enabled the development of a virtually infinite atomic energy source. This revolutionary discovery not only provided sustainable energy for the Genesis ship but also made possible the creation of an innovative technology: the Transport Spheres.
The Transport Spheres
The spheres, designed using Changesite-(Y), are compact and advanced devices capable of transporting up to five people per journey. Utilising a system of gravitational manipulation and quantum energy, the spheres allow instantaneous and safe travel over short distances.
They were designed with an impact-resistant coating able to withstand extreme temperatures and include an autonomous navigation system powered by the artificial intelligence Omnis. Each sphere is equipped with an energy protection field, ensuring complete safety for passengers during transport.
Stood's Order
With Genesis nearing completion, Stood ordered all transport spheres to be activated and used to transfer employees and inhabitants of the lunar colonies aboard the ship.
"We can no longer afford to waste time," Stood declared in a global transmission to the colonies. "With the infinite energy provided by Changesite-(Y) and the transport spheres ready, it is time to centralise our operations within Genesis. It will not only be our future but the future of all humanity."
The Transfer Operation
The transport process began immediately. Groups of five people entered the spheres at various points in the lunar colony. Within seconds, the spheres disappeared in a beam of bluish light and reappeared inside Genesis. The system's efficiency amazed everyone, and within a few hours, the majority of the crew was already aboard the ship.
Meanwhile, Omnis monitored the entire operation, adjusting routes and ensuring that no sphere encountered failures or deviations. The swift and secure transfer symbolised the technological advancements achieved by humanity under Stood and Elisa's leadership.
At the same time, work began on constructing a protective coating around the entire Genesis ship.
With the crew now centralised within Genesis, Stood and Elisa prepared for the next steps. The infinite energy generated by Changesite-(Y) opened up nearly limitless possibilities, and the transport spheres were seen as the beginning of a new era of exploration and survival.
"These spheres are more than just a means of transport," Elisa remarked as she observed the constant flow of people entering the ship. "They represent the first step in our journey to transcend human limitations. Genesis is ready, and now, so are we."
