Chapter 4 - Are You a Pink Lover
Qing Mu shrugged, “What’s so surprising about it? You’re a Kamen Rider too, aren’t you?”
Lin Qianqian was the first Kamen Rider he had ever encountered aside from himself, so it piqued his curiosity. While he hadn’t seen Lin Qianqian’s current transformation form, he recognized the Rushing Cheetah Progrisekey she used, which was the same as Jin’s, his fellow Kamen Rider.
Rushing Cheetah Progrisekey granted the user incredible speed and agility, focusing on fast-paced combat, often allowing them to defeat or eliminate enemies quickly.
Qing Mu had some information about the key stored in his memory from his previous life, and he assumed that this was a Rushing Cheetah form unique to Lin Qianqian.
Observing Qing Mu’s transformed appearance, Lin Qianqian couldn’t help but tease, “A grown man, and you look so ‘pink.’ Doesn’t it feel awkward?”
Qing Mu was left momentarily speechless.
“It’s magenta, not pink! Please get your colors right!” He corrected her.
While it was often said that the more colorful a Kamen Rider, the more formidable they were in combat, Qing Mu preferred not to be labeled as a “pink” Kamen Rider. He found “magenta” to be a more appropriate description.
Lin Qianqian continued to jest, “Magenta? Is there really a difference?”
“That’s enough! Can you two please focus on the situation? I’m right here! You’re just casually chatting, and it’s insulting!” The Cactus Orphnoch interjected, unable to bear being ignored any longer, forcibly breaking up the conversation between Qing Mu and Lin Qianqian.
“Alright, alright. Since you’re in such a hurry to meet your doom, I’ll oblige,” Qing Mu said. He took out the Ride Booker, which transformed into its sword mode, and lightly wiped the blade.
*Shing~*
A chilling, razor-sharp sound filled the air.
Lin Qianqian also summoned Kamen Rider Zero-One’s exclusive weapon, the Attache Calibur, saying, “Don’t even think about stealing my prey. This monster is my target, and I won’t allow anyone to take it from me.”
Both of them had their sights set on the Cactus Orphnoch and were ready to confront it.
“Is that so? Well, let’s see who can defeat this Orphnoch first with their skills!” Qing Mu was determined to take down the Cactus Orphnoch. He had a primary mission to complete, which required defeating thirty monsters of any kind to obtain an ultimate form Rider card. He didn’t know which Kamen Rider’s ultimate form he would receive, but any ultimate form Rider card was bound to be powerful. Qing Mu needed to finish this initial mission as quickly as possible to get his hands on that card.
The tension in the air seemed to freeze. Qing Mu and Lin Qianqian locked eyes for a moment and then moved almost simultaneously.
*Swish!*
Both rushed towards the Cactus Orphnoch at top speed.
“You two! How dare you underestimate me!” The Cactus Orphnoch couldn’t bear the repeated insults and unleashed a barrage of thorny attacks.
Countless sharp spikes rained down towards the two of them.
Lin Qianqian, using her Rushing Cheetah form, rolled and tumbled with incredible agility, easily dodging the incoming spikes without getting grazed.
Qing Mu, on the other hand, took a more direct approach. He swung his Ride Booker like a battering ram.
*Bang! Bang! Bang!*
With each powerful strike, Qing Mu knocked the spikes out of the way.
He was the first to reach the Cactus Orphnoch. Without a word, he delivered a swift strike with his Ride Booker.
*Boom!*
A burst of flames erupted as Qing Mu’s blade pierced the Cactus Orphnoch’s chest, leaving a gaping wound. Grayish sand-like particles poured out from the injury, resembling blood.
Lin Qianqian swiftly followed up with her attacks. Her agile movements allowed her to circle around the Cactus Orphnoch, continuously striking with her Attache Calibur.
*Bang! Bang! Bang!*
Her incredible speed made the Cactus Orphnoch utterly defenseless. Although Lin Qianqian’s individual strikes were less powerful than Qing Mu’s, the cumulative effect was substantial.
“Trying to steal my kill? Think again!” Lin Qianqian shouted as she relentlessly attacked.
Qing Mu, seeing the opportunity, retrieved the Final Attack Ride card and threw it into the Decade Drive, activating the card’s ability.
*Final Attack Ride: De-De-De-Decade!*
The familiar stuttering sound effect echoed.
A tremendous surge of energy gathered in Qing Mu’s right leg. Between him and the Cactus Orphnoch, more than ten golden card-shaped illusions appeared, each about human height.
Each of the card-shaped illusions had Kamen Rider Decade’s exclusive emblem clearly imprinted on its back.
With the Cactus Orphnoch locked in his sights, there was no escape for it, regardless of how it tried to evade. It could only face the attack head-on and endure the impact.
“This guy! Is he planning to attack me as well?” Lin Qianqian was startled by Qing Mu’s bold move. Faced with Qing Mu’s mysterious and unpredictable actions, Lin Qianqian didn’t dare to be overconfident and try to withstand his finishing move. If she couldn’t withstand it, she might lose her life. So, Lin Qianqian quickly distanced herself from the Cactus Orphnoch, ensuring she wouldn’t be accidentally caught in Qing Mu’s ultimate attack.
Qing Mu didn’t intend to harm Lin Qianqian; he just wanted to startle her enough to make her willingly yield the Cactus Orphnoch’s head.
Now that Lin Qianqian had voluntarily stepped back, it was in line with Qing Mu’s intentions.
Qing Mu leaped into the air, extending his right leg. His body passed through the numerous card-shaped illusions, and he landed a powerful kick on the Cactus Orphnoch.
In that moment, the Cactus Orphnoch understood what it meant to bear an unbearable weight.
*Boom! Boom! Boom!*
A deafening explosion resounded, and a burst of flames erupted. Qing Mu’s kick shattered the Cactus Orphnoch, turning its entire body into a pile of grayish sand.
“This is also one of the characteristics of the Orphnochs. After their death, their bodies turn into color-changing sand, similar to ashes. However, this grayish sand has no research value or practical use. It’s just ordinary sand,” Qing Mu explained.
“Task progress: 1/30,” Qing Mu muttered to himself, acknowledging his accomplishment of eliminating the first monster. He had completed one-thirtieth of his initial mission, moving one step closer to obtaining the ultimate Rider card.
Upon seeing Qing Mu effortlessly defeat the Cactus Orphnoch and recalling how close she had come to being caught in his attack, Lin Qianqian was seething with anger.
“What do you mean? Do you even realize that what you did just now could have hit me?” Lin Qianqian fumed.
Qing Mu turned to look at Lin Qianqian and replied calmly, “As long as you’re not foolish, you’ll definitely evade it. If you insist on risking your life just to compete with me for this Cactus Orphnoch’s head, then I can only say you’re quite impressive.”
“You!” Lin Qianqian had never been so enraged before. Qing Mu’s actions and words had left her utterly furious. She struggled to find her voice. “Who are you, exactly?”
