Chapter 31 - Captain, I'm With You Guys!
“Here he is!”
Qing Mu couldn’t contain his laughter as he rushed over to them.
The captain looked at Qing Mu with no suspicion, urgently asking for information, “What’s the situation inside now? Where are the enemies?”
Qing Mu began his impromptu storytelling.
“Lì huā detonated the underground base, and the enemies are trapped inside. They probably perished along with the base. I barely managed to escape, Captain. Don’t worry, it’s safe for now. Everything’s fine.”
“That’s good, that’s good,” the captain sighed in relief, raising his right hand in a fist and addressing the others, “Put away your weapons! Stand down from high alert!”
All the special forces soldiers, upon hearing this, holstered their guns and stood at ease.
Qing Mu couldn’t believe how easily he had managed to deceive them. These people were incredibly gullible.
At that moment, the captain’s radio crackled with Lì huā’s voice.
“Don’t be fooled by him! He’s not Arwen! Shoot him! Kill him!”
Lì huā had been monitoring the situation within the company closely. However, Qing Mu’s use of time-stop abilities to escape momentarily caught her off guard. At the same time, she couldn’t fathom how Qing Mu had managed to escape from the office to the outside world in the blink of an eye.
“Sigh! I wanted to have a little fun with you, but if you’re asking for death, I can’t blame me!”
With Rousing Sword in his left hand and Ride Booker in his right, Qing Mu unleashed a ruthless slaughter on the surrounding special forces soldiers. These soldiers were not official members of Dragon Country but were privately armed by Eternal Technology Inc.
Therefore, Qing Mu showed no mercy in dealing with them. He dispatched them one by one, almost one kill per sword strike, harvesting their lives in a brutal manner.
“Rat-a-tat-tat-tat-tat!…”
Some of the soldiers who were farther away from Qing Mu realized what was happening and raised their guns to open fire. Unfortunately, these conventional firearms posed no threat to Qing Mu. Even if the bullets hit him, they had no effect.
Under Qing Mu’s massacre, these nearly hundred people couldn’t last for more than a minute before they all fell.
Blood flowed slowly, filling the area with a strong scent of blood.
Watching this scene, Qing Mu felt a bit despondent.
“If this were a proper Kamen Rider show, such a scene would never happen. I could probably compete with Mizusawa.”
Kamen Rider Amazons, as a family-friendly theme among the Kamen Rider series, had many scenes like this. The sight of all the bodies on the ground reminded Qing Mu of it.
Footsteps approached, more people were rushing towards the scene, and Qing Mu steeled himself for what came next.
“Well, these are just regular people doing their jobs for money. Killing more of them won’t make any difference; it’s just more unnecessary bloodshed. Let’s get out of here.”
The scent of blood on his hands had made Qing Mu weary of further violence. He didn’t want to kill more ordinary people.
He disengaged from Decade Drive, reverting to his regular Emperor form. Qing Mu then took out an AttackRide card and inserted it into the Decade Drive.
【AttackRide! Invisible!】
The invisibility card activated, causing Qing Mu’s form to rapidly fade and disappear. The approaching individuals couldn’t see him.
All they could see was the blood-stained bodies and the gruesome scene.
This brutal sight terrified many of them.
…
After leaving Eternal Technology Inc., Qing Mu returned to school. The recent bloodshed was his first experience with taking someone’s life.
Even though he knew those people were enemies and had to be eliminated, he still found it difficult to come to terms with the bloody scene he had just left behind.
Evening classes had already begun when Qing Mu entered the classroom. All eyes turned toward him.
The class instructor was a middle-aged woman known as Teacher Zhang. Like other class instructors, she usually had a stern demeanor.
Seeing Qing Mu arriving at this time, Teacher Zhang pushed her glasses up and said sternly, “You’re late.”
Evening self-study for first-year students was mandatory. While students weren’t necessarily required to study during this time, they were expected to be present and not arrive late or leave early.
Qing Mu didn’t argue and sincerely apologized, “I’m sorry, Teacher Zhang. I’m not feeling well, which is why I’m late.”
“Feeling unwell?” Teacher Zhang had heard this excuse countless times and had grown tired of it. However, seeing Qing Mu’s sincere attitude, she decided not to make a fuss.
“Alright, alright. There’s still some time left before evening self-study ends. Find a place to sit quietly and don’t disturb your classmates.”
“Thank you, Teacher.”
Qing Mu bowed politely and found a spot where he wouldn’t disturb others. He didn’t open a book or play with his phone; he just stared blankly at his desk.
He needed some time to clear his mind.
Many students were curious, watching the newcomer who had dared to arrive late on the first day of school.
Little did they know that during the afternoon break, Qing Mu had killed dozens of monsters and nearly a hundred people.
If they were aware of his actions, they might have realized that Qing Mu was not to be trifled with.
“Qing Mu, did something happen?”
After sitting quietly for a while, a female classmate approached Qing Mu and asked him. She was curious because he had been sitting idly without doing anything.
Qing Mu snapped back to reality, lifted his head, and looked at her.
“Nothing, I’m just not in a great mood. Thanks for your concern.”
He had wanted to ask for her name, but his thoughts drifted elsewhere.
Unfortunately, Qing Mu couldn’t remember her name no matter how hard he thought. When he had introduced himself, he hadn’t paid much attention to others. Fortunately, she was understanding and introduced herself, saving Qing Mu from an awkward situation.
“Qing Mu, my name is Li Ling’er. If you don’t mind, we can become friends. I feel like you’re quite special, and being friends with you should be interesting.”
“Be friends with me? Are you sure? It might not be interesting but life-threatening. Are you sure you want to be friends with me?”
Qing Mu thought about the people and monsters he had just killed, and a bitter smile appeared on his face. He remembered that in the foreseeable future, such situations wouldn’t be rare. He hadn’t even deliberately hidden his identity. Once those enemies found out he was Kamen Rider Decade, he would likely face even more trouble. This would also put those around him in danger. Being friends with him could indeed be a matter of life and death.
However, Li Ling’er didn’t seem afraid. Instead, she laughed softly.
“Hehe, I knew I made the right choice. Qing Mu, you really are an interesting person. I’m not afraid of danger; I just love exciting things. I’ve made you my friend.”
“Alright, then. If you’re not afraid, I don’t mind having one more beautiful friend.”
Qing Mu looked into Li Ling’er’s crescent-shaped eyes, and suddenly, the burden in his heart lifted, and he felt a sense of relief.
