Chapter 28 - Obtaining a Belt Along the Way
The Kamen Rider Blade card had granted Qing Mu significantly more attributes than the Kamen Rider Leangle card. Although he hadn’t acquired the forms of Jack Form and King Form, he was quite satisfied with this unexpected gain.
“What have you done to me?” Kamen Rider Blade asked, puzzled.
Qing Mu put away the Kamen Rider Blade card, smiled faintly, and said, “I obtained something I needed from you, no need to worry; it won’t have any impact on you.”
“???”
Kamen Rider Blade was utterly bewildered, not understanding what Qing Mu meant. However, he felt no abnormal sensations in his body. Thus, he decided not to dwell on it any longer and slowly got up from the ground, even though his injuries made his movements sluggish.
“Cancel your transformation, and then hand over your belt to me, so you won’t retain any power and try to resist later,” Qing Mu ordered.
Kamen Rider Blade hesitated, feeling humiliated. However, faced with Qing Mu’s overwhelming power, he had no choice but to comply. After a brief moment of contemplation, he reluctantly canceled his transformation and handed over his Rider Belt, along with the Ace of Spades stag beetle Rouse Cards in the card slot, to Qing Mu.
Since Qing Mu now possessed Kamen Rider Blade’s powers, this belt was of no use to him. At most, it would become a part of his collection.
“You’re quite cooperative; that’s good. I like people who are obedient. What’s your name?” Qing Mu inquired.
He was very pleased with the cooperative attitude of the other Rider.
“I’m called Awen. The one you killed earlier, my younger brother, was named Awu. We are brothers,” Awen replied.
“I see,” Qing Mu responded casually, showing no remorse for killing Awu.
“Well, take me to find Lì huā. I want to see how powerful that woman really is,” Qing Mu demanded.
“Alright, follow me,” Awen said as he led the way.
Qing Mu followed behind Awen, and the two of them proceeded at a leisurely pace. Awen had injuries, so Qing Mu didn’t rush him.
After walking for more than ten minutes, they stopped in front of an office door. The door was tightly locked, and there was no sound coming from inside.
“Lì huā is in there,” Awen informed.
Qing Mu glanced at the door and then swung his sword, slicing it in half with a resounding crash.
“Bang!”
The metallic door was split into two by Qing Mu’s strike.
Upon entering, they saw…
The room was pitch dark, with only faint glimmers from computer screens. They couldn’t see anyone inside.
“You go in first,” Qing Mu told Awen.
Awen immediately entered the office upon hearing Qing Mu’s words, but after a few seconds, nothing happened. Qing Mu followed him inside.
The room was even darker than Qing Mu had imagined. Thankfully, with the open door and dim light from the hallway, they could barely make out what was inside.
“Is anyone here? Is this place empty?” Qing Mu scanned the office but found no trace of Lì huā.
Awen sighed in frustration, “She must have run away. Her office has monitors connected to the entire base. She probably saw my brother and me being defeated by you, knew you were coming for her, and escaped. I don’t know where she is now.”
“So, you’re useless to me now?” Qing Mu’s tone grew somewhat hostile. He had been searching for a long time without finding the person he wanted to meet. It felt like a waste of time.
However, before Qing Mu could lose his temper, a projection screen suddenly lit up in the room.
On the screen was the beautiful face of Lì huā. Qing Mu could vaguely discern a bit of the background, which seemed to be inside a car.
Lì huā, separated by the screen, made exaggerated expressions as she spoke, “Oh dear, I’m so sorry for making you miss me. I’ve already left the company, and you won’t find me there.”
Seeing her smug expression, Qing Mu felt his anger rising. However, to prevent her from feeling more triumphant, he restrained his emotions and responded calmly, “You sure know how to run fast. Why not stay and have some fun with me? We could play some interesting games.”
“I’d love to have some fun with you too, but you’re just too scary. You came in and wrecked our company’s base, and you killed so many people. I’m scared. Also, I still don’t know who you are. How am I supposed to play with you like that?”
“You don’t know who I am? Are you sure?” Qing Mu was puzzled. The previous Kamen Rider Skulls who came after the Decade Driver clearly knew about it. This indicated that they were aware of Kamen Rider Decade or might have even encountered him. However, Lì huā now claimed not to recognize Kamen Rider Decade.
This left Qing Mu confused. Was she pretending not to know, or was she genuinely unaware?
“Should I know who you are? Or have we had some unexplainable connection for centuries?” Lì huā replied, her tone seemingly oblivious.
“If you really don’t know who I am, you can call me Kamen Rider Decade.”
Qing Mu couldn’t determine if she was playing dumb or genuinely unaware, so he decided to treat her as if she were genuinely clueless.
Lì huā listened to Qing Mu’s response and quickly searched her memory, but she couldn’t find any relevant information about Kamen Rider Decade. However, this didn’t deter her from continuing the conversation.
“Kamen Rider Decade? Very well, I’ll remember that. I have a question that’s been bothering me, and I’d like to ask you.”
“You can ask, but I may not necessarily answer,” Qing Mu replied calmly.
“Are you really an official representative of Dragon Country?” Lì huā’s eyes bore a skeptical look, as if she were trying to see through the screen to meet Qing Mu face to face.
Qing Mu remained composed. “What’s the matter? Don’t you believe I’m from Dragon Country?”
“While you claim to be from Dragon Country, your behavior doesn’t align with the typical style of government officials. You seem more like a free spirit who doesn’t care about rules and regulations, doing things your own way. So, I guess you might not be an official representative of Dragon Country, am I right?”
Lì huā wasn’t entirely sure if Qing Mu was indeed an official from Dragon Country. She was taking a gamble. If Qing Mu was truly a Dragon Country official, it could mean that Eternal Technology Inc.’s activities in Dragon Country might have to go underground to evade the government’s scrutiny.
On the other hand, if Qing Mu wasn’t affiliated with Dragon Country’s government, it could be a simpler situation. Offering the right incentives might persuade Qing Mu to reconsider opposing them. In Lì huā’s view, there were no permanent enemies in the world, only permanent interests. If parties couldn’t come to an agreement, it usually meant the price wasn’t right. When the price was right, everything could be resolved.
This philosophy had guided Lì huā in her dealings for a long time.
