"Yes." Kisame nodded. "Although the Three-Tails has no jinchūriki and does not reside in the Hidden Mist Village, Terumi Mei will definitely send people to guard the Three-Tails in secret. If you want to capture the Three-Tails, there will be a fierce battle. If it starts… it will be difficult."
Deidara was not happy. "What do you mean it will be difficult? Do you look down on me? Or do you look down on Mr. Hitani? Do you think Mr. Hitani will be killed by a mere female ninja?"
"You may not know Kirigakure," Kisame continued. "Kirigakure is the bloodiest of the five great shinobi villages. Have you heard of the Bloody Mist Village? Terumi Mei ended the Bloody Mist era by herself and stood out from many others to become the Mizukage. Her abilities are definitely not to be underestimated."
"So what?" Deidara was very disdainful.
Kisame was helpless. "Let's not talk about Terumi Mei first. The Hidden Mist Village is a shinobi village with assassins as the backbone. Their ability to fight head-on may not be strong, but they are definitely the best among the five major shinobi villages in assassination. Even Konoha can't compare. Provoking a group of assassins in their territory is definitely not a good idea."
"So what is your suggestion?" Deidara asked, a little impatient.
"No suggestions," Kisame replied with a smirk. "Unless we add more people, this is the most effective way to ensure your safety. If you need it, I can accompany you—"
"No need," Hitani interrupted him. "Two are enough; Kirigakure is not a concern."
Kisame shrugged indifferently. "It's up to you. Then I wish you good luck. In fact, I also hope you'll meet Terumi Mei. To be honest, I've been annoyed with her for a long time."
"Deidara, let's go." Hitani turned and left.
Deidara hurriedly followed.
Pain said worriedly, "Be careful, Mr. Hitani. If you need support, you can tell Zetsu's clone. We will rush to the Land of Water to help as soon as possible." Hitani didn't answer. He and Deidara walked out the door and disappeared into the night.
"I hope they can succeed." Kisame also became worried. "I haven't yet avenged Mr. Hitani for defeating me the first time we met. I hope he won't die like this."
…
Three days later.
In the Land of Water, in the Mizukage's office.
A woman with long brown hair, wearing a blue bodysuit with one eye covered by her bangs, was sitting at her desk reviewing a document. She was the Fifth Mizukage, Terumi Mei.
Next to her were Chojuro, who was carrying a sword, and Ao, a Byakugan-wielding shinobi with an eye patch.
"It's really tragic." Terumi Mei looked at the documents in her hand. "The Sand Village was attacked, the Kazekage was kidnapped, the Cloud Village was attacked, the Two-Tails Jinchūriki was kidnapped, and two major shinobi villages were attacked one after the other, with less than a week in between."
Ao was very pleased. "These two major shinobi villages have suffered heavy losses, and they won't have as much power to compete with us for resources in the future. This is good news for us, and we should be happy."
"That's true, but…" Terumi Mei was a little worried. "We don't know the exact details about the force that attacked these villages, and this unknown force seems to be targeting the tailed beasts."
Ao didn't care. "Even if it's a tailed beast, so what? We should worry about them. There are no tailed beasts in Kirigakure."
"But the Three-Tails is within our borders," Chojuro pointed out.
"Oh, that's right! I almost forgot about that beast," Ao replied nonchalantly. "Lord Mizukage, are you worried that unknown forces will come to our country to target the Three-Tails?"
"This possibility cannot be ruled out," Terumi Mei nodded.
"Then let them try!" Ao sneered. "If they dare to steal something from Kirigakure, a village famous for its killers, I will make sure they never return! No matter who it is, if they dare to take our country's property, I will make them regret it!"
Terumi Mei frowned unhappily. "Ao, don't underestimate the enemy. Since they were able to kidnap the Kazekage from the Sand Village, it means they are very powerful. I certainly couldn't do it alone."
"That's nothing." Ao snorted disdainfully. "The Kazekage is just a young boy. It's easy to attack him. If I were the Kazekage, it wouldn't be me who was kidnapped, but those attackers."
"Ao, you are really…" Terumi Mei was helpless and didn't know what to say.
Chojuro added, "Lord Mizukage, although I believe in the power of the village, I think we still need to make some preparations. If an unknown force really targets the Three-Tails, we should be ready to act."
Terumi Mei nodded and was about to speak when an Anbu ninja entered the room. "Lord Mizukage, the Raikage has arrived with a group of people and is waiting for you in the reception room. He says he has something to discuss with you."
Hearing this, Terumi Mei thought she had heard it wrong. "Who did you say is here?"
"The Raikage," the Anbu ninja repeated.
"Raikage? Why did he come to my territory?" Terumi Mei was confused.
"To declare war?" Ao's face darkened. "I've heard that the Raikage is hot-tempered and reckless. Now that he's here, I'll fight him and show him how powerful Kirigakure is!"
With that, he started to walk out.
"Stop!" Terumi Mei shouted.
Ao turned around, puzzled. "What's going on?"
"If the Raikage came to declare war, he wouldn't be waiting for me in the reception room," Terumi Mei explained as she stood up and headed out. "Let's talk to him first and see what he has to say. Chojuro, bring a combat unit with me, just in case. Ao, you come with me too."
"Tsk," Ao muttered, clearly displeased.
