Chapter 487: Found the Pit_1

"Boss, have some water."

"This is morning dew I specially collected from a certain Spirit Grass. It can nourish the mind!"

"Boss, eat a warm-blood fruit. It can dispel the cold from your body."

In the early morning, as soon as Su Xuan woke up, Zhu Hongyun and Wu Bo diligently offered him a unique breakfast. The expressions on their faces were no longer filled with insincerity but were especially devout. They had truly realized that following a boss like Su Xuan was a great stroke of fortune, one that could save their lives at critical moments. Moreover, today was the last day of the trial, and the competition was bound to be fiercer. They needed to rely on Su Xuan's protection now more than ever.

"You're too kind." Su Xuan took the items from them and quickly ate.

Over on her side, Ji Sisi also had breakfast prepared by Min Chun, so she was being looked after as well. Of course, this didn't mean that Min Chun was interested in Ji Sisi; he simply felt a bit embarrassed because he had contributed the least to the team. He felt he had to do something to ease his conscience, otherwise he wouldn't be able to face accepting the benefits Su Xuan gave him.

"Let's move out!" Seeing that everyone was ready, Su Xuan waved his hand, leading the group on today's "robbing" trip.

Though his expression seemed calm, he was actually feeling a little anxious. After wandering around the Valley of Thousand Snakes for two days, he still hadn't seen a single trace of the Blood Immortal Vine. Does this thing even exist anymore? Could it have gone extinct?

Today's robbing was also proving to be quite dull. After he had displayed his overwhelming martial power while subduing the white snake the previous night, the other trialists now meekly handed over their treasures the moment they saw him. They offered no resistance whatsoever, some even wore fawning expressions.

"Everyone, hurry over there!"

"There's been a major discovery!"

More than an hour later, a commotion erupted up ahead, followed by the chaotic sound of footsteps thundering in a single direction.

Su Xuan simply gave Wu Bo a look, and Wu Bo understood immediately. He darted off, returning moments later with a trialist in his grasp.

"What's going on?" Su Xuan asked the trialist.

"Someone fell into a huge pit!" the man exclaimed, his face flush with excitement. "And they found a Blood Immortal Vine down there! That pit must be a sinkhole, and it has to be filled with Blood Immortal Vines!"

"Let's go!"

Hearing this, Su Xuan finally felt a wave of relief; he had a lead at last. He immediately led his team in that direction, though he didn't move too quickly. He figured it would be much easier to simply rob everyone after they had already gone through the trouble of gathering the Blood Immortal Vines.

But when he arrived at the destination, he found the situation wasn't quite what he had imagined. The hole was small, only three or four meters in diameter, not the massive sinkhole he had envisioned. In my mind, a sinkhole should have a diameter of at least ten meters, right? But it doesn't matter, as long as there's Blood Immortal Vine inside.

By now, more than twenty people had gathered around the pit. They were busy weaving vines, apparently preparing to descend into its depths.

"Hey, you, come here." Su Xuan beckoned to a man who was weaving.

"Valley Overlord, what are your instructions?" The man immediately came over and stood before Su Xuan with his head bowed subserviently.

"Um…" Hearing the title, Su Xuan couldn't help but purse his lips, momentarily speechless. He then asked, "Didn't someone fall into the pit and find a Blood Immortal Vine? Where is he? And where's the vine?"

"It's like this," the man reported truthfully. "After that person fell in, it seems he really did find a Blood Immortal Vine, but he never came back up. Maybe he's afraid of being robbed, or maybe he found even more Blood Immortal Vines and went deeper into the sinkhole. Sir, are you going down?"

"We'll see." Su Xuan waved the man away and walked to the edge of the pit to look down.

Some people were already sliding down the vines. Upon seeing him watching from above, they quickened their descent. But even though his eyesight was far superior to an ordinary person's, he still couldn't see the bottom. This pit seems bottomless.

"Brother Ji, this might really be *the* sinkhole," Min Chun said, walking over. "The plants around here are extremely lush, as if nourished by some kind of rich fertilizer. It could very well be the one Ancestor Meng filled with manure. The recent heavy rains in the valley might have caused a new collapse in the filled-in sinkhole, revealing this small opening."

"Hmm." Su Xuan nodded.

"Should we go down?" Min Chun asked.

"Not yet," Su Xuan replied. "We can just wait for them to find the Blood Immortal Vines and bring them up. A pit filled with manure probably doesn't smell too pleasant."

"Alright." Min Chun smiled with understanding and waited with Su Xuan by the edge.

At this point, more people arrived at the pit. However, as soon as they saw Su Xuan, none of them dared to go down. They weren't fools; they had already figured out Su Xuan's plan and just stood around the perimeter.

"Hey, stop staring at my boss!" Zhu Hongyun shouted at the crowd, clearly displeased. "Go on, get down into the pit! Go find the Blood Immortal Vines! You all know my boss is a kind man. He won't make things too difficult for you. As long as you find the vines, just offer one or two to my boss as a gesture of goodwill, and that'll be enough!"

He was trying to coax them into doing the work for them.

To Zhu Hongyun's surprise, Su Xuan actually echoed his sentiment. "Today is the last day," he announced to the crowd, "and harvesting the Blood Immortal Vine is an important part of this trial. I won't make things too difficult for you. Everyone, hurry and get to work!"

With his personal assurance, the trialists quickly finished weaving their vines and began sliding down into the pit. They figured it was better to just hand over one or two vines willingly if they found any.

Another half an hour passed quickly. None of the people who had gone down returned, and there was no sound or movement from below.

"Boss, something's fishy!" Zhu Hongyun approached Su Xuan, his face grave. "Do you think this sinkhole has more than one entrance? What if those bastards found the Blood Immortal Vines and escaped through another exit?"

It wasn't a baseless guess. The original sinkhole was massive, hundreds of meters in diameter. If other openings had formed from collapses, anyone who found the vines could have easily escaped, meaning they were waiting here for nothing.

"I'll go check." Wu Bo volunteered and went to scout the surroundings. He returned with an equally grave expression. "There are definitely other entrances. I found five or six of them just by taking a quick look around!"

"Boss, it looks like we'll have to go down and rob them inside the pit," Zhu Hongyun suggested. "Whoever gets the most Blood Immortal Vines will win Ancestor Meng's Golden Body Mystic Armor. They'll definitely risk their lives to keep the vines this time."

Su Xuan pursed his lips. "Into the pit!"
