Chapter 543: The Beautiful Woman on the Village Road
The snake was killed by Lin Fan, and the beautiful woman's tense nerves relaxed. She was really scared just now; she's most afraid of snakes in her life.
"Are you alright? Did the snake bite you?" Lin Fan asked with concern, reaching out his hand to the beautiful woman.
"I wasn't bitten, luckily you arrived in time, thank you." The beautiful woman took Lin Fan's hand, intending to stand up.
As she just stood up and hadn't steadied herself, she let out an "Ah!" and almost fell again.
Lin Fan reacted quickly, reached out, wrapped his arms around the woman's waist, and steadied her.
Tsk tsk, Lin Fan was secretly pleased. Being this close, he could smell her body fragrance, a faint young lady's scent, which was quite pleasant. Lin Fan's heart itched; he really wanted to hold her like this and not let go.
"My foot hurts,"
The beautiful woman said with a frown, not minding Lin Fan holding her waist.
Lin Fan said, "Sit down, let me take a look."
Saying this, Lin Fan helped the beautiful woman to a stone by the roadside and asked, "Which foot hurts?"
"The right foot." The beautiful woman said, with her hand on Lin Fan's shoulder, sitting down on the stone.
She was wearing white sneakers, and her white tender ankle was exposed. Lin Fan glanced and saw her right ankle was already somewhat red and swollen.
"It must have been sprained when you fell just now. It needs to be treated quickly," Lin Fan said, reaching to take off her shoe.
"No..."
The woman instinctively refused. It was embarrassing to have a stranger man take off her shoe.
But before she finished speaking, Lin Fan had quickly taken off her shoe, instantly revealing her pink and tender foot. At a glance, her delicate skin and tender flesh showed she had never done farm work; she was a city girl.
Lin Fan held her foot with one hand, gently pressing the ankle with the other, and observed.
"The ankle joint is slightly dislocated, but it's not serious, just a minor injury. I'll massage it, and it'll be fine,"
Lin Fan said, applying a little force and started massaging.
It felt so comfortable; the woman almost hummed in pleasure. She quickly bit her lip to hold back, and her face flushed.
At first, it hurt a bit, but soon the woman didn't feel pain, just comfort.
Seeing Lin Fan's skilled hands, the woman momentarily forgot her shyness and asked, "Do you know medical skills?"
Lin Fan said, "I know a little, just a bit."
The woman made a surprised sound, a bit unexpected. The only doctor in West River Village was Doctor Liu, wasn't he an old man?
"What's your relation to Doctor Liu?" the woman asked.
Lin Fan looked up and smiled at her, "Old Liu, when I caught a cold or had a fever as a child, he was always the one treating me. Does that count as a relationship?"
Lin Fan implied there was no real relation with Old Liu.
The woman giggled, "And you know medical skills? Are you studying medicine?"
Lin Fan said, "Not officially, just self-taught a bit. I haven't seen you here before; have you just married into our village? Whose wife are you?"
This wife is truly a water spirit, I wonder which guy in the village is so lucky, it makes one envious, doesn't it? Who wouldn't want a wife like this!
The woman blushed and quickly explained, "I'm not; I'm a teacher here at the village school, have been here for almost a semester."
"A teacher?"
Lin Fan felt relieved, so she wasn't just someone's wife. That's good, coming to teach in this mountain village means she's likely single, Lin Fan was inexplicably happy.
"My name is Wei Yue'er. Yours?" the woman said.
Lin Fan replied, "Lin Fan."
The woman smiled and said, "It's a nice name, simple, yet not ordinary."
Looking at her smile, Lin Fan's heart almost melted. That smile was too beautiful, like a spring breeze or a crescent moon.
"Your name is beautiful, Wei Yue'er; in the future, can I call you Teacher Wei?" Lin Fan smiled.
Wei Yue'er said, "You're not my student, just call me Xiaoyue, all my friends do."
"Hmm." Lin Fan was happy in his heart, it seemed Wei Yue'er considered him a friend.
A while passed.
"Done."
Lin Fan said, stopping, and let go of Wei Yue'er, feeling reluctant, those long legs, the skin was so smooth, could play all day.
Wei Yue'er tried to stand and move a little, finding her ankle didn't hurt at all.
Wei Yue'er was very happy, "Thank you, Lin Fan, you're amazing. If not for you today, I wouldn't have known what to do."
She was genuinely grateful to Lin Fan; earlier, she was almost scared to death by that Bamboo Leaf Green snake. Luckily, Lin Fan passed by and saved her, even treated her ankle.
Lin Fan said, "Do you often come here to run?"
Wei Yue'er said, "Not really, I just had a free morning today, so I came out for some activity, never expected to encounter a snake."
Lin Fan said, "This mountain trail isn't frequented by people, so there're often snakes and bugs. Just be careful in the future. By the way, try to avoid intense exercise for the next month; it's too easy to get injured again."
Wei Yue'er nodded, "Yes, I'll never dare run this road again."
Lin Fan said, "In any case, avoid intense exercise for now, like with a boyfriend or something."
Wei Yue'er understood Lin Fan's meaning; her face blushed, and she softly said, "I don't have a boyfriend."
Lin Fan's heart soared, she really was single!
"Let's go, I'll take you back to school first," Lin Fan smiled.
Wei Yue'er said, "I don't live at the school. I'm renting a place at a village home for now; you must have work, so no need to accompany me. I can go back by myself."
Lin Fan couldn't bear to part with her so quickly and said, "No problem, I'm heading back to the village too. We can go together."
Since it was on the way, Wei Yue'er did not decline and walked alongside Lin Fan towards the village.
As they walked and talked, Lin Fan learned that Wei Yue'er indeed came from the city, though she didn't specify which one or the reason for coming to this remote village to teach, she kept vague.
Soon, they reached the village, and Wei Yue'er pointed to a courtyard ahead, "I live there."
Lin Fan laughed upon seeing it, "That's Dog No.2's home, isn't it?"
Wei Yue'er said, "Yes, his family had a spare room available, so I rented it. Are you familiar with Dog No.2?"
Lin Fan said, "Very familiar, we grew up playing together. I didn't expect you'd live at his house; let's go in and say hi."
What Lin Fan said was true, Dog No.2 lost his father young, living with his widow mother, He Chunyu. Though he wasn't very bright, Lin Fan was one of the few who played with him. They've been good friends since childhood, and Lin Fan was planning to visit Dog No.2 after work today anyway.
Wei Yue'er said, "Dog No.2 and Aunt Chunyu went to the fields early; they're probably not at home. Why don't we go find them? They'll be happy to know you're back."
Wei Yue'er now understood that Lin Fan had just returned from working away.
"Okay," Lin Fan agreed, wanting to spend more time with Wei Yue'er.
So the two of them walked through the village, preparing to find Dog No.2 and Aunt Chunyu.
As they passed the village clinic, they suddenly found it bustling with activity.
A group of villagers was gathered at the clinic's entrance, forming a dense crowd, with noisy chatter and bloodstains on the ground. Something seemed to have happened?
