Starting a Reversal in Life From the Time of Release

chapter 35

35 – Through the Gate (1)

It was an unusually clear day. For the first time in my life, I felt a sense of sympathy.

I had anticipated that a day like this would come, but it arrived rather unexpectedly. Nevertheless, I could accept it as merely happiness or ecstasy.

What I couldn’t accept was not only Mary but also her sister, Miss Charlotte, joining in the physical intimacy. For some reason, my body had been burning since after dinner a few days ago, and it seemed that the plan had already been set in motion.

I had even obtained the Emperor’s and Mr. Alberoth’s consent to mix such a potion with our meal. It was said that if I had just talked about it casually, I would have refused, and that thought was spot on.

“I appreciate what you’ve given me, sir. I will definitely… become pregnant.”

With a body already heated and such provocation. Eventually, my eyes rolled back, and I moved my hips frantically, and before I knew it, it was morning.

It was said that both Miss Charlotte and Mary’s moans had been quite loud, and everyone passing by the door heard them.

The way people looked at me was unusual, all because of that. Mary had always been training, or in other words, working out, so she was naturally strong.

However, even Charlotte, who appeared docile, didn’t expect that.

I, too, couldn’t completely suppress my pride as a man…

Perhaps because I exerted too much energy, my body still felt sluggish.

“Excuse me…”

“Oh, yes. Have you arrived?”

While spending time in the palace backyard garden, a well-behaved child approached.

He was a boy who carried the blood of the Galia royal family and appeared to be in middle school.

His name was Clover Elizabeth.

He came to find me whenever he had free time.

It was to become a strong person as a member of the royal family.

It seemed that because both his family and other people regarded him highly, it was difficult to be strict with him.

“Shall we begin then?”

When I stood up from the bench, Clover too nodded and tightly clenched his fists.

The dirt would soon soil and roll on the floor, causing pain, so I couldn’t help but be tense.

“Yes. I’ll leave it to you.”

Although my legs were a little wobbly today, I could still intertwine my hands with Clover’s.

So, I tried not to show any signs of it and calmly eyed Clover as he approached.

Soon, a fairly powerful fist flew towards my nose.

Nana Marina, after knowing the pleasure of intertwining our bodies, we became beasts.

It was somewhat fine during the day, but it was very serious at night.

They said if you learn about s*x late, you can’t keep your sanity. That’s exactly what happened to me.

As a result, time flew by, and the members who were to form the joint investigation headquarters gathered in the Galia capital.

So today, I organized a meeting with them.

Of course, I was present too. Because I was involved.

“You all have worked hard to come here. Although the fatigue may not have completely gone away after just one day, the situation is urgent, and I committed this rudeness. Please forgive me.”

A long rectangular table.

The emperor, seated at the most important spot, began to speak in a solemn voice.

Normally, he was strict, but today he was even more so.

As if he had turned into stone.

” No. Since it’s a matter that requires serious attention, it would be best to act quickly. You made the right decision.”

The woman who sat on the highest seat, after the emperor, replied politely, bowing her head.

With black hair and a slim-fitting dress clinging to her body, she was a woman of grace.

She was a distinguished guest who had come a long way and the 1st princess of the Dacia Empire.

In other words, she was the person who would become the next emperor.

However, it was surprising that she had only brought two servants with her.

“Yes. I do know that the cracks are releasing monsters. But to think that there is a connection to another world, how precarious and interesting this situation is.”

The middle-aged man sitting across from the Dacia princess chuckled, stroking his short beard.

He was the lord of Matop, responsible for maintaining neutrality between the two empires.

He played an important role in this investigation headquarters and was the centerpiece of it.

Investigating the nature of the Gates was a task suited for a magician, not a politician.

“Interesting and precarious… That’s an accurate expression.”

The Dacia 1st princess, Ermega, nodded as if empathizing.

I observed her from a distance, slightly removed from where they were sitting.

Since the emperor would be handling the matter anyway, as long as there were no strange occurrences, it would all be over if I just kept my mouth shut.

I didn’t know what they were thinking, but their reactions seemed acceptable.

I wasn’t sure if they were pretending not to believe or if they had come with ulterior motives.

The emperor scanned the surroundings silently, cleared his throat, and began to speak.

“Hmm. Just like we sent a letter, this matter is definitely not ordinary. It is a problem that involves our safety before considering gains and losses.”

“Yes, indeed. The person who came from there has been enduring it quite decisively…”

Ermega trailed off, giving me a sidelong glance.

Since we briefly conversed yesterday, it was inevitable that she would notice.

The same went for the lord of Matop.

He smiled and gave me a meaningful glance, hinting at his personal interest.

“Well, that’s right. If I have the leisure, I would like to investigate your power in more detail… Would that be alright?”

“If I have the leisure, I will do so.”

“Leisure… A somewhat ambiguous answer, but not a bad one.”

I answered ambiguously, but if I truly had the leisure, I could cooperate.

It was clear that the lord of Matop knew this, as he smirked and twisted the corners of his mouth.

“In Matop, we have the lord. In Dacia, we have sent the 1st princess… Let’s send my daughter to the investigation headquarters. When the headquarters stabilize or grow in scale, we can send someone else, but for a start, this should be sufficient.”

“I agree.”

“Well, I find the new crack intriguing, so I can understand why you’re eager to pursue it… It’s possible.”

The three central figures nodded, each adding a word.

The Emperor’s persuasion seemed to have been successful.

“For now, I will handle the basic materials… But before that, I have a question. After we complete the investigation and stabilize the situation, how will we divide the shares concerning the crack?”

“I have been entrusted with full authority regarding that. So, we can discuss it here and now.”

“I feel the same way. Please go ahead and speak.”

They were all considering not only the crack investigation but also the events that would follow.

So it was probably best to prepare in advance for any potential disturbances.

At least that’s what I thought.

After a brief moment of chaos in the conference room, the Emperor spoke up.

Thanks to the conclusion of the discussion regarding the shares they would receive, the noise subsided.

“Since the crack is in Gallia, it’s inevitable that Gallia will have a larger share. If it had appeared in Dakia, then Dakia would have the larger portion. It’s located on this land, so it will be easier to manage and will require more attention.”

“That’s right. It wouldn’t be easy to operate from afar.”

“If only we could use teleportation magic circles… But we can’t due to the distortion field. It’s a shame.”

Budajoo expressed his disappointment evident from his tasteless comment.

It was indeed a good thing that the distortion field was set up to prevent cracks from forming in territories and towns.

This reduced the threat from demons significantly, and life became more stable.

However, it wasn’t without its issues, and the current teleportation magic was a prime example.

The distortion field emitted by the large obelisk constantly shifted the spatial coordinates, thus making it impossible to use teleportation magic.

The explanation was clear, but I still had trouble fully understanding it.

Mary’s explanation was only a rough one, and it seemed she didn’t know the exact principles herself.

To fully comprehend it, one had to possess specialized knowledge like a magician.

Otherwise, it was best to just accept it and move on.

It seemed too obvious that it would only give me a headache.

“…Alright. It seems the issue of the shares has been settled. We should write a formal letter and keep a record of it.”

Snap! When the Emperor casually flicked his finger, several people from outside entered the conference room.

Each person carried paper, pens, and ink.

The Emperor browsed through writing tools laid out on the table, picked up a sheet of paper, and began writing the document.

Then he swiftly extended the document towards them and spoke.

The emperor had already signed the document, which had been stamped with a seal.

“Everyone, please sign,” he said.

“Of course,” they replied.

Ermega took the pen first and signed, followed by the other nobles.

The emperor examined the document and the nobles’ signatures alternately before speaking.

“Noble. Can you enchant this certificate with preservation magic? It must not be damaged under any circumstances,” he inquired.

“Yes, I can do that. While I’m at it, I’ll make a copy of the contents too,” the noble said casually.

Holding two blank sheets of paper, the noble placed their remaining hand over the document.

A blue magic circle formed on the noble’s empty hand and began to rotate slowly, a truly fascinating sight.

Witnessing a magician perform magic firsthand was intriguing, especially seeing the exact same characters as the certificate engraved on the pristine white paper.

“It’s done. Please take it,” the noble said.

The noble extended a copied document to Ermega.

Including the seal and the names, it was identical to the original document.

“Fortunately, there doesn’t seem to be any distortion in the content,” Ermega remarked. He carefully rolled up the certificate and handed it to the maid behind him.

She accepted the document hesitantly and tied it with a string she had taken from her pocket.

The noble used magic instead of a string to secure the certificate, making it appear almost alive.

“That concludes today’s business. We’ll depart tomorrow morning. Rest well for the remainder of the day, and we’ll meet again tomorrow,” the emperor declared, prompting others to rise as if they had been waiting for his permission.

With no need for me to step forward, the proceedings concluded, leaving me with a sense of relief.
