EURI
"Aurora Grace."
Hello little Rory, I whispered against her tiny mind. The infant in my arms was so small it was like she was barely there, but when she'd been crying, she'd definitely been the loudest voice in the room.
My niece, Aurora Grace Crieve. Dwinlyn and Ashtyn had married not long after they'd discovered they were expecting, and my little niece was perfect. Her mind was so soft and loved having me, Ronnie, Shah, and Cyn wrapped around her.
She'd never lack for love or comfort or safety. She was swaddled in blankets, both the physical kind and the metaphysical kind. Her mother wasn't truly telepathic, but like my metal-handed dad, she practiced being open to Rory.
"You're sure, Euri? You have to leave now? Rory's only three days old," Dwin complained.
I rolled my eyes at my brother.
"If we don't leave today, we'll miss the wedding. For sand's sakes, we have to go all the way to Maglen Galaxy, Dwin. Are you really going to give us all a hard time about it? We'll be gone a few months. Okay, maybe most of the year, if we're being honest. But, we'll be in touch."
I pointed to my head. "Rory is always going to know who her aunties and uncles are. I don't think she's going to care if we're not here to change her nappies. From her perspective, she's gonna be all balled up in constant love. Awwww… Dwin …. don't cry."
He punched me in the gut. I let him. It made him feel better, so it worked out okay.
"I love you, asshole," he muttered.
"I love you back. And your wife. And your daughter. Now, me and my band of misfits have an airship to catch. We haven't been off sphere for the better part of a year, and we are NOT going to miss Slick and Muller's wedding! Good day, brother."

"Come back in one piece, Euridyne."
I kissed my niece on the forehead and headed for the Good Time.
SHAH
Yeah, I'm a matchmaker alright. Slick and Muller were the first. But they weren't the only. Nope, there were FIVE MORE! Five more telepathic pairs that me and Euri had matched up into blissful coupledom. Shipped those couples right across the Known Cosmos to each other.
AAAAAAAND. Big news: two of the five couples had already moved to Uno City where my parents now lived full-time along with seven million Shurwinn migrants. That was only one of many cities. There were twenty-five million Shurwinn now on Uno, spread around in different cities that my dad had grown straight out of the ground.
We hadn't visited yet, and we weren't sure when we would. First, we had to go see Slick and Muller get married. Then, well, we'd do whatever the hell we wanted just because we could.
Yep, Frank, Ronnie, and Cyn were with us. And yeah, Cyn talked to us mind to mind now. Not all the time. She kept to herself a lot, and that was fine because I did too. Euri was the most relaxed of all of us telepathically, but that was the way it had always been.
I was on Rilla book nine, and of course, in the book, Rawl was getting married in another galaxy to his one and only who he'd met on the mental plane. Nope, Rilla didn't matchmake Rawl. He did it all on his own. It was his Rawl boss moment to shine, and boy had I written him a hell of a chapter in book seven!
So, on this trip, I was gonna knock out book nine and give my fans the wedding they'd always wanted. But not for Rilla; for Rawl.
Rilla didn't want to get married. She and Lake Mavwen were perfectly happy just being together and didn't need a piece of paper to tell them they were in it together. Instead, she poured all her love for Rawl into giving him the most fun, spunky, hilarious, full-of-capers wedding she could.
Well, that was the theory, anyway. We had to go in search of it, and that's what we were doing. Going all the way to Maglen Galaxy to see our friends get married and research for book nine.
When I told you about Rilla, I was talking about me. You got that, right? That Euri and I are fine just like we are? Wedding not necessary? Can't you be happy for us? This is our happy ever after.
Look, I told you all about what happens when Euri and I have sex. Like, I told you aaaalllllll about it. Not satisfied? You want MORE from us? Boy, you people are greedy.
Hmm. I'll think about it. In the meantime, you go re-read the part where I talked to Ryst and Nayth in our alternate reality. 'Cuz that part's not over.
"It's not too much, Euri?"
He chuckled against my earlobe. "Shah, no one is going to read this for decades. We'll be long gone by the time it goes out."
"Yeah, but it feels kinda mean to taunt them anyway."
"Then delete it."
"It's funny, though. I like the bits where we talk directly to the readers."
"Me too. That's what makes us so much better than Ryst and Nayth. No doubt, book three will be the most popular."
"We never did the Starliner special."
"We could do it now. We're aboard the Good Time."
"We're NOT telling them about it."
"Shy all of a sudden, Portia? After everything else? It's the squirting that's got you blushing?"
"I'm not writing it down, Euridyne. It's too— too . . ."
"Don't worry, baby; this chapter ends right here. Let them fill in the blanks."
