RYST
Ren, it's hard to remember life on Shurwinn. But Nayth and I will try. We want to tell you everything so you can tell Peydran, and he can share our story with the rest of the Known Cosmos.
I was so sick, remember? Remember how you saw all that black goo in my brain? How it hurt me? That was a metaphor, Ren. The black tarry goo was the Known Cosmos— all the deception, lies, and discord.
Yes, there's love too, but the Known Cosmos is the sickest part of creation. Where we are—the Unknown Cosmos as Peydran will call it— is the real world. Where you are is the part of creation where all the twisted stuff goes.
Once you get out of that, there's no more pain and suffering. Outside of the 9 Galaxies, no one suffers. There's no pain. No hatred. We don't hurt each other. There's no discord. It's all harmony.
Here's what happened as best as we can remember it: Nayth and I were lying in bed because I was too weak to do anything. The Known Cosmos made me so sick I couldn't live properly anymore.
This was our final day on Shurwinn:
Do you see the pink clouds, Nayth? Aren't they pretty?
Of course, Ryst. They're pretty, and they feel nice, don't they?
Yeah. They feel soft on my brain. Kind of like Ren's music.
What do you want to do, Ryst? Do you want to go into the clouds?
I'm NOT LEAVING YOU, NAYTH CARMIDEE.
Humor. We were a double helix. Confidence. If I wanted to go into the pretty pink clouds, Nayth would go with me.
Is it that simple? I just choose? I just decide to go?
Shrugging shoulders. Confidence. I'd figure it out. Nayth was sitting against the headboard of our bed, and I was between his legs with my back to him. He held me around the waist, pulling me to him. He felt so good. So comforting. I was home with Nayth, just like I always had been.
But I didn't want to be in our casita on Shurwinn anymore. I was tired. I was weak. I was wan and pale and barely there anymore. I wanted those pink clouds.

I sat up and put my right hand over Nayth's heart. It was time to make one last choice. The choice was already made, wasn't it?
My eyes closed. I reached my left hand up to the skylight above us and felt my heart expand out around us. I reached beyond the stars.
"We'll be stars dancing. And love flowing. We'll dance beyond eternity and flow together always," I sang in a voice that did not belong to Ryst Nova. It was the fullness of me. The Vast Ryst. A voice beyond the Known Cosmos rose out of me and my beloved joined me in harmony.
"Two in harmony! More than a chord! None that exists! And so much more! Reach beyond the stars. We'll dance beyond eternity and flow together always. Within you. Within me. All things can be! Within you. Within me. All things can be!"
Light filled me. Laughter filled me. Power surged from Nayth and filled me to overflowing. Everything turned to piercing light and beauty. Nayth and I shredded.
It hurt. It was the greatest ecstasy I had ever known. It was every orgasm we had ever had all at once and every nightmare.
And I saw everything. I understood everything. We saw it all. All that could be. All that we had ever been. And all that we could be.
I reached beyond the stars and chose.
We went home.
There was tall brown grass around us, swaying in the breeze. I heard the susserating grass. Nayth looked around. There was a breeze stirring the grass. We felt the breeze in the grass. No, we were the breeze. We were swaying, moving. Back and forth. Back and forth. Swaying. Swaying. Back and forth. It was a rhythm. Back and forth. We were movement. Swaying. Back and forth. Movement. Rhythm. Back and forth.
We were a song! We were a song! We were a song!
Alive! Alive! Alive! We sang.
We didn't have bodies at first. We were just an idea. Then we remembered how nice it felt to hold each other, and we formed legs and arms and torsos and whole bodies.
We weren't sure where we were in the beginning, but I was healthy and whole. I wasn't sick. There was no pain. Just love and laughter. It got sexy, of course. It was me and Nayth, and we were whole, so of course we had a great time.
Then we explored the grassy world we were in. There wasn't anyone else there. It took quite some time for us to realize that it was empty because we made it that way. We didn't realize that we'd made a new world. A world that was a reflection of us.
We forgot about the Known Cosmos for a while because we had a new world to play in. We had to figure out how to create our world, to make it more than grass and breezes.
Parts of us remembered that we'd had lives before we got to our grassy world, but we forgot to think about the past. We'd forgotten that there were such things as past and present.
But we heard songs and laughter and were filled with love. We remembered you, Ren, and Peydran, and Euri, and Dwin. We turned our attention to the past and found the Known Cosmos and your songs. We realized we could hear you, all four of the Crieve-Madranos, and you could hear us.
Your songs had always said that'd we'd flow together always, and you were right, Ren.
We remembered how much we loved you, and we laughed so much when you all laughed. The boys put on that concert. How could we not show up? We love you so much.
Tell Peydran and your family we are so proud of you all. We had no idea what a tangle we'd left you. We just wrote some letters because we knew we were supposed to. We didn't know where it would all go, but we are so proud of you all and everything you've accomplished.
Thank you. Thank you for telling our story. Thank you for helping us feel known and understood. Thank you for helping the people of the Known Cosmos know the truth of who we are and the truth of who they are.
For we aren't the only stars who went to Andromeda Galaxy. Every person ever born in the Known Cosmos is a star in human form. Every single being alive can choose to reach beyond the stars and claim their right as created creators. The power of your transformation is through the choices you make everyday. It starts by being open. And by loving yourself.
Nayth and I love you. If you take nothing else from our story, please take this: you are loved, and you are not alone.
We'll see you when you get here.
