Chapter 38: The Treaty of House Yuseff
The two men soon came to an agreement regarding their treaty. In exchange for the prisoners, House Yuseff would ceasefire on all current and future military operations upon Nahar and its territory.
Myrym and Nasiah were not prisoners of Forenus, and for this, they were not considered obligated to be part of the treaty.
However, David still allotted the whole four months in exchange for his troops. For in his mind, it was much better to deal with the other separatist forces for the time being.
It was also in part because he planned to simply have Nasiah be the one to conquer Nahar, all of it. The child was fast growing in strength; he could see that in due time and proper training, he could be the one to take down the rebels for the Queen.
Myrym was thankful that she could finally return to her lovely life at the estate where she could hopefully find peace and not be randomly accosted and kidnapped anymore.
After the agreement was signed, many of the soldiers went back to gather the maids and butlers of Myrym, who were overjoyed to see their prince. Many of them wept at the sight of him and sang his praises, much to Forcas's annoyance.
The envoy of prisoners, now including David, Nasiah, Myrym, and Musa, with their respective ground, all ventured out to the beaches where the giant ship of House Yuseff stood tall; it was as if it was a building on its side.
It was outfitted with more than a hundred cannons on its side and could be worked on by even more men. The hull had a golden hue to it, with white stripes. Honestly, it was made to be such a monstrous figure.
David had the prisoners enter inside. Jossel and Jaguar, happy to see their prince, bowed at his presence before they finally gained their freedom and stepped foot onto the ship. The rest of his soldiers did the same.
Myrym, meanwhile, was busy leading her servants up into the ship, all of them so relieved that they finally were returning back to some sense of normalcy.
Nasiah, however, was saying his goodbyes to both Forenus and Forcas. "I'll see you both soon! Good luck in ruling over Nahar, Sir Forwnus; I'll come back to judge it; if you do good, then you'll still be my Marquis!"
"I hope you train well, Forcas; my knight needs to be always ready and active to serve!" He gave them both a broad smile that sparkled so much they had to look away.
Forenus sighed. It was disappointing that he could not rely on Nasiah anymore, but he knew this day would come eventually.
"Then I hope you truly become a great king wherever you would go. I bid you goodbye and hope you are blessed in your endeavors."
Forcas growled; she wanted more time with the boy, but if it had to be this way, then so be it. At least he was going to come back anyway.
"Heh, goodbye then; if you're going to be my king, I expect you to be able to beat anyone, even that Prince over there."
She glared at David, who did not seem to notice her at all. Instead, he appeared to be coordinating all of his workers and men.
Nasiah nodded along. "I will! You will all see. Stay safe out there!"
With that declaration, he began to head up to the ship, but not before he turned to Musa. "Where are you going to go, Sir?"
Musa gave him a hearty laugh. "With you, of course. I will continue to be your tutor, one of many to come. That is written in the stars, and I shall follow them wherever they may lead me."
"If that is what you desire after all."
Nasiah smiled wholesomely. "Of course! You can come along wherever you want! I'll make sure that you will have a perfect job no matter where you go!"
He then started to walk up the stairs to the ship, finally turning around to wave at both the Marquis and his knight one last time while the ship's anchors began to rise up, and soon, they all set off into the horizon, for their new journey out in the distance.
—————
Nasiah walked across the deck, taking on the voyage as he had never been across a ship as big as that one. He looked around before finding his mother with David right by the sides overlooking the sea.
He was curious as to how they were together, so he ran across to be with them, finding something quite surprising but warming.
They appeared to be quite close, yet not on the level one would find in a couple but in friends.
David gave a small smile as he gestured to Nahar. "How was the food there?"
Myrym sighed. "It was fine, I guess. I didn't want to eat anything there, but I was starving by night… it was mostly just meat and vegetables; they had some bread too, but I guess that's more of a delicacy… or just because I'm a prisoner."
David leaned against the railing. "I heard you entered a drinking contest against a Wolf Aeborne and won. What happened?"
The blonde woman laughed. It was as such a sore memory for her but not it seemed so long ago, even if it was simply a few days gone by from the event.
"I was just trying to save my son from that she-wolf. She eyed him like he was a piece of candy, and I didn't trust him alone with her."
The prince nodded along. "Good call; she has quite the temper to her, right? It's quite a good thing the Marquis can manage her like that; I commend him for his effort."
"I guess so…" The two then noticed Nasiah's presence behind them; David turned around and finally greeted his strange son-in-law.
"Greetings Nasiah, how may I help you?"
