Chapter 95: Techno-Cosmic Union and Patents (2)
Throne World Phoenix Prime, Capital City Celestara
The branch of the Techno-Cosmic Union was located at the center of the Celestara, a bit far from the Imperial Citadel, so they were taking transportation to the branch of the Techno-Cosmic Union, which also gave Arcturus the opportunity to observe the capital city of the entire Eternal Empire of the Asurya from the skies.
Even though this was the capital city on the Throne World of the High-Level Civilization, it wasn't actually certainly that large or bustling with people. Certainly, there was no doubt that Celestara was an enormous metropolis, but compared to some images of the different factions, even some Mid-Level Civilizations, and Star Nations, it certainly lacked the size and numbers.
"What is actually the population of the Eternal Empire and the Celestara? In truth, I expected this place to be much bigger and far more populous than it is..."
Arcturus asked while he observed the panorama of the Celestara as they entered the transport vehicle that took them into the sky while Star Knight Neros Thoran followed together with the other four Imperial Knights, who were silent for the entire journey.
Only the Star Knight Neros Thoran was communicating with Arcturus as he was in charge of his protection details, so he handled the communications alone.
"The entire population of the whole Eternal Empire of the Asurya is estimated to be something around 41 Billion, which, compared to the other High-Level Civilizations and Star Nations, is a very small number. Unfortunately, that's the result of the reproduction speed of the Asuryani and the Votanns. Due to that, we are heavily investing in Artificial Intelligence and quality over quantity, and that is also the reason why our cities are much smaller. Even though the Phoenix Prime is the Throne World of the Empire, the population on the entire planet is only around 1 billion, and the population of the Celestara is something around 300 million; considering the fact that the Phoenix Prime is the Super Planet, it is a very low population..."
It indeed seemed a bit low, but Arcturus also knew that among the wider population of the Asuryani, having extensively large property and living space was rather the norm. Because the Eternal Empire of the Asurya had a tremendously large territory in comparison with their population, the people of the Empire got used to very large living spaces.
Compared to the different Civilizations and Star Nations where living space was considered the highest kind of luxury, even the average common within the Empire could live in something that was bigger than most mansions of the 21st Century Earth.
"Hmm... that is indeed low, but I guess better than the overcrowded cities that I saw on the ExtraNet."
Celestara was rather an ordinary city and wasn't some kind of megapolis or Hive City; thanks all Gods for that because that would be the most unfortunate. Most of the Hive Cities were total shit once you went from the top of the city to the bottom.
In the Underhive, there was no law save for that created by the gangs that rule this dark ghetto. In the Underhives that were close to the original surface of the planet, it was absolute hell on earth; all manner of crimes and atrocities go unpunished every day in the seething, violent anarchy of the Underhive.
Everything ranges from the average violent crimes to the constant slaughter, cannibalism, trash, and who knows what else. The Underhive was a difficult place to live where the power was long before turned off by the hive city's authority, and the only rule is that might make right.
Most of the Hive Cities had tremendous problems with controlling the Underhives, and often, they were the forsaken parts of the Hive Cityy as the plants didn't care about the Underhive and the fate of its inhabitants.
"Yes, that was one of the reasons why the Empire forbade the construction of the Hive Cities across its territories, and we are typically dismantling them if they are located on the conquered worlds. Due to the low population of the Empire, there is no need for them, and most of the Hive Cities are far more problematic than they seem. Across the Veren Republic, they even have specialized branches of Army that are dealing with the Underhives."
Star Knight Neros Thoras explained that the topic of city construction and so on was rather a hot topic in the Eternal Empire of the Asurya, as the people were divided into two factions in this aspect.
There were also some that were for the bigger urbanization, though only on the mining worlds and similar planets, where the was already deserted and not really that infested with flora and fauna in the first place.
"Dammit, is the situation really that bad with them?"
While Arcturus had some knowledge about the Hive Cities, he also knew that construction of the Hive City could increase the production rate by several hundred % if it was done correctly. That was also one of the main reasons why some of the Civilizations and the Star Nations were constructing the Hive Cities...
Aside from the first goal of the Hive City, which was typically used as the simplest solution to resolve the housing crisis and lack of living space on the planet.
"Mostly... there are several High-Level Civilizations and Star Nations in our environments like Protoss Council or Sheng Tianshi Dynasty that are able to keep their Hive Cities clean, but that's only through overwhelming power and resources invested in it, not to mention, they have far higher population compared to the Phoenix Empire. On the other hand, the Veren Republic struggles with the Underhives severely, and from time to time, the Underhives are reasons why those blue-skinned bastards lose entire planets."
Arcturus knew about the Protoss Council and the Qian Dynasty; both of the factions were staunch allies of the Eternal Empie of the Asurya. The Protoss Council was the dominant faction in the Milky Way Galaxy, and the Sheng Tianshi Dynasty was just a few galaxies away and in control of the entire galaxy.
Together, they were one of the strongest factions and alliances in their Desolate Territory, which was the name of the parts of the Cosmos where their galaxies were located.
"Though I would suggest that if you have the opportunity to enter the Underhive of some Hive City... it is rather a good opportunity, and there are often very powerful people down there or mutated monsters that would give you a good fight. I was sent often on the pacification mission to the Underhives in the Hive Cities of the Protoss Council, and we found there even Ork Warbosses, to Everoyne's shock."
There was a saying that everything could be found at the bottom of the Underhive if one looked long enough.
"And also, we should be arriving at the branch of the Techno-Cosmic Union soon enough."
Soon enough, their vessel started landing down before the enormous building that seemed far more futuristic to Arcturus than the entirety of the Celestara together, and the different architectural styles was clearly evident.
The building of Techno-Cosmic Union was the highest building in the entire Celestara and was a rather impressive sight when one looked at it. Compared to the busy Imperial Administratum that was swarmed with the people and so on, the Branch of the Techno-Cosmic Union was rather empty.
There were only a few people around here, and there; most of the inhabitants of the Techno-Cosmic Union were actually Droids and Androids and a few employees from the Techno-Cosmic Union Headquarters that were sent to oversee the Branch in the Eternal Empire of the Asurya.
"And here were are... the Branch of the Techno-Cosmic Union. Fortunately, it seems that there are not many people around, and we can take care of all matters rather fast without wasting any more time."
Submission of the patents for registration to the Techno-Cosmic Union was rather a simple thing, as he only needed to fill out the application papers and submit the thing that he wanted to have patented.
Afterward, the Artificial Intelligence that was in charge of the entire Techno-Cosmic Union would judge whether the patent something similar existed already or not. If it didn't exist, then the Techno-Cosmic Union would register the patent and update the database of the existing and registered patents.
Because Arcturus was from the Eternal Empire of the Asurya, he didn't need to pay for the registration or anything, and the patent would be in effect for an indefinite period of time, as this was one of the bonuses for the High-Level Civilization and Star Nations.
To his surprise, nothing like the designs for the Dark Matter Engines that the Red Queen has developed has been registered yet; thus, they were able to register it immediately. Arcturus also managed to register the patent for the updates to the already-existing ABD-Spectre MK Battle Droids, the upgraded model creatively named the ABD-Spectre MK II. Battle Droids.
He was predicting that within a few months, he would have some dealings with the Starlight Drive Yard Industries, which were producing the original ABD-Spectre MK Battle Droids for licensing.
The upgrades that turned that Battle Droids into the ABD-Spectre MK II. Battle Droids repressed enormous capital potential worth tens of millions of Universal Credits as the combat capabilities of the ABD-Spectre MK II. Battle Droids were far above the standards.
Everything was only thanks to the genius and hard work of the Red Queen. He was very glad that the Obscurus had appeared in this world with him because it had the Red Queen. When he was playing the online game, he invested a lot of real money to elevate the Artificial Intellignece to as high a level as possible.
Exactly for situations like this one.
"Can we go next to the office of the Starlight Drive Yard Industries?"
Beucas he would be going soon into the Imperial Phoenix Military Academy, Arcutrus didn't waste any time and decided to take care of both things together at the same time. He needed to buy supplies for the Red Queen to start conducting some more operations on the Obsucrus and upgrading the starship, while at the same time, he would sell them a license to use his patent and produce the ABD-Spectre MK II. Battle Droids.
He was sure that the Starlight Drive Yard Industries would agree to it because the original ABD-Spectre MK Battle Droid was an immensely popular series of the Battle Droids across the entire Andromeda Galaxy and many were ordering this kind of Droid, even from the Protoss Council and Sheng Tianshi Dynasty in bulks.
"As you wish, we still have enough time before the agreed time for the Imperial Phoenix Military Academy. The agreed time of arrival is scheduled for twelve hours, so it is strictly advised that you arrive 20 minutes before the agreed time."
Hearing the remainder of the Star Knight Neros Thoran, Arcturus took it into the consideration because he knew that within the Phoenix Empire, everyone was rather punctual and precise, so it would be for the best not to waste any time.
"I am aware... though the visit to the Starlight Drive Yard Industries would be the last one before I retire back to the accommodations that you provided for the night."
The Empire also prepared accommodations for him to stay during the night, so he wouldn't need to stay within his starship as a token of a good gesture, even though it was rather unnecessary.
His starship was a rather luxurious and spacious place, to say, as it was designed with comfort and luxury in mind when he was creating the basis of the starship in the game. Even then, it seemed that it was rather unnecessary, but alas, it looked nice.
"Then that's good; arriving late, would be a bad impression; you have apparently created a lot of bad impressions already on the faculty of the Imperial Phoenix Military Academy."
Hearing what the Star Knight Thoran stated, Arcturus couldn't help but agree with the statement because it was true that getting into the Academy through the recommendation letters from the Lord Padishah-Marshall didn't for sure create the best impression around.
Even though Arcturus would be going through the admission tests, those were more like formality because as long as he achieved the necessary score, it would have been considered as green, and he would have passed and be automatically accepted, not the Imperial Phoenix Miltiray Academy as there was no competition for him.
This was a really standard situation that gave him a highly privileged treatment that only a very small number of people could afford to give and have within the Eternal Empire of the Asurya.
And he was sure that him being Psyker with the Super-High Risk Primal Psyker Ability and Superior-level Attunement to the Psionic Energy was most probably for sure kept a secret even from most of the staff at the Imperial Phoenix Military Academy for the sorcery and cover.
That was for his own protection and basically the less amount of people knew about his capabilities than for the best of the Empire. Unless he achieved the pinnacle of the Mortal Realms, it would be in his best interest to tell nobody about his true capabilities, as it was drilled into him by his master.
