Star Citizen Online: Isekai Edition

Chapter 108: Making Friends?

Even though Jeniael was giving it her all, there was no denying that without the Holy Judgment of God, she wasn't his opponent, and once she was getting weaker and weaker, because her Psionic Energy reserves were getting smaller and smaller, as she was forced to keep using the Holy Judgement of God to keep the Empyrean Mist of the Dimension Lost out of her body.

Which started failing spectacularly after several minutes because the consumption of Jeniael's Psionic Energy was getting higher and higher until it came to the point where she couldn't handle the output of the Psionic Energy for the Holy Judgement of God, and her ultimate ability started failing.

Such was the case of the Super-High Risk Pskyer Abilities; their downsides were probably as significant as were their advantages. When Jenaiel lost the ability to supply the Holy Judgment of God, the Empyrean Mist that was filling the entire sparring room showed its might as the poor white-haired woman started losing strength at a visible rate.

The Dimension Lost was one of the strongest abilities of the Dimension Empyrean when Arcturus was using his Super-High Risk Primal Psyker Ability, and it's proven its title even right now when, soon enough, Jeniael found herself outclassed as she felt and saw Arcturus's training sword pressing on her neck.

"This is my win this time..."

Arcturus stated with a smile as he looked at the young white-haired woman whose azure blue eyes narrowed at her as she frowned a bit, but didn't say anything aside from releasing a defeated sight.

It was clear that she was admitting her defeat. Even though she was doing so, it didn't escape his attention that she looked extremely uncomfortable when doing so. It was more than clear that Jeniael was someone who hated losing and was very competitive in fact.

Judging by her reaction, it was also clear that she wasn't losing very often when she was doing anything. Dealing with the competitive people was a pain in the ass, and he knew that Jeniael wouldn't be any different, probably even more problematic than anyone else.

He would attribute it to her origin.

"I want a rematch at a later date."

She said neutrally, but there was a fire burning in her eyes as she looked at him with an intense gaze that seemed to dig into his entire being. Unbeknownst to Arcturus, this was the first time in her entire life that she lost against someone from the same generation, and it was extremely uncomfortable for her.

During her entire life, Jeniael trained harder than anyone else and did everything in her power to be best, she strive to be best and she was the best.

Among the younger generation of the Eternal Empire of the Asurya, there were not many who were her opponents, and even fewer of the people that she fought against managed to last more than a few rounds with her.

When she fought against someone who was of the same age, she always won, and even when she was fighting against those who were older than her were most often not her match, so experiencing a defeat against someone who was equally old than her was something...

Humiliating, one could say.

"Obviously... I didn't expect anything else."

Arcturus then put away the training sword as their sparring match had come to an end, and they were going back to their dormitory. He was pretty tired and wanted to sleep, while Jeniael was in a bad mood from the entire ordeal of losing against him.

It was more than evident that she wasn't really happy about losing the spar, even though deep inside, she already anticipated such an outcome a bit.

She knew that someone who caught the eye of someone like Arsit Byrmellir, one of the strongest Professionals in the entire Desolate Cosmic Territory, was meant to be someone very special.

"You know... you have really strong overreliance on the Holy Judgment of God, and while you can't execute the Psionics, I would probably advise you to have something on your sleeve for situations like this."

In the end, she didn't really have many areas where she could make up for her total lack of Psionics, aside from the weapon masteries and martial arts. Still, Arcturus pondered over this and had a few things in mind that could help her in this regard, and for someone like her, it would probably be as easy as breathing to make those things.

"Ts... tell me something that I don't know."

She frowned because this was the first time that her Holy Judgement of God was rendered totally useless in the real combat. Though it wouldn't be prudent to say that it became totally useless in the fight against Arcturus Crawford, it wasn't really usable that well.

In the end, most of the time, the Holy Judgment of God was just used to last longer in the battle, but it could not break the stalemate between the two of them, and in the end, even with the Super-High Risk Psyker Ability like the Holy Judgement of God she had lost.

What hurt even more was the fact that she lost rather easily, and for the entire duration of the duel, she was led like a fool by her opponent. This was something that wasn't really sitting well with Jeniael, who was always proud of her abilities, skills, and intellect.

"I meant you could supply the lack of the Psionics with the Apostle Weapons..."

Hearing what Arcturus said made Jeniael stop in her tracks as she pondered over the proposal. It was true that she had pondered over this matter some time ago already, but in the end, decided to drop it.

In the end, it was part of her own arrogance maybe that led her to believe in the absolute superiority of the Anti-Psion Knight Profession. For that reason, she didn't really prepare anything for the situation if she was without access to the Holy Judgement of God, and today, that was proved to be a mistake.

Rahter serious one at that.

"They are indeed a good idea... I will take a look at them at a later date, but obtaining them is hard even for the House Luxford. Especially if we are talking about the high-end Apostle Weapons that would suit my uses. In the end, in Eternal Empire of the Asurya, there are only a few Force Mechanics that are capable of creating the top-notch Apostle Weapons."

The Apostle Weapons were a particular branch of the weaponry created by the Force Mechanics, and one could say that they were certain kinds of sentient and living weapons controlled by a Psionics or Psyker through their mind and being powered by the Psionic Energy.

Not only the Apostle Weapons could be controlled by the Psionics or Psyker as they wished, but at the same time, the Apostle Weapons were capable of tremendous destruction and were able to unleash enormous degrees of pure, raw, destructive power.

Still, the number of the Force Mechanics that could create them within the Eternal Empire of the Asurya could be almost counted on one hand. Each one of them was being sold for a staggering price, and it wasn't something that even the members of the Bloodline Lineage Aristocratic Houses could afford to buy as they wished.

Even Jeniael would have to spend a lot of Universal Credits to buy a few of the Apostle Weapons, but she had to admit that the Apostle Weapons would indeed help her very much because she would be covered.

And at the same time, her versatility in the combat would be increased several fold to the point, where she could implement an entirely new strategies in the combat. She made a mental note to check on the prices of the Apostle Weapons and see if she could buy some of them.

She was rather sure that if she played her cards right, she could obtain enough money from her family to buy a few of them, or if that didn't really work, she could always go to the ancestor Luxford,

Several weeks later, Imperial Phoenix Military Academy, Imperial Capital of Celestara, Throne World Phoenix Prime, Eternal Empire of the Asurya.

Several weeks have passed since Arcturus was admitted into the Imperial Phoenix Military Academy and also started living in the dormitories of the Academy together with the very few classmates that he had in the Special Course Class.

As was predicted, he wasn't really required to attend the seminars or the classes aside from the combat classes, but those were rather boring in his opinion diue to his overpowered Super-High Risk Primal Psyker Ability Dimension Empyrean, he didn't really oppoennet in those courses.

The only courses that he attended seriously were the ones that were related to Psionics. Since he had started attending the courses on the Psionic Arts, he felt that his understanding of Psionics was deepening, and he was getting better and better.

At the same time, he was learning some of the most fundamental and basic Psionics Techniques and Skills, and essentially everything that he mastered didn't teach him because there was either no time for that or there were no right conditions for that.

Arcturus knew that Grandmaster Byrmellir wouldn't be teaching him some of the most fundamental basics because, for the elderly Highborne Ausyani Beyonder, that was, from a certain point, a waste of time as he started teaching his disciple the important things during the time they were together before he went to the seclusion.

For that, coming to the Imperial Phoenix Military Academy was of paramount importance because here, he could learn everything that he would need in the future to be a powerful Professional, be it Warrior, Psionics, or Psyker.

He also attended a few more courses on the strategy and tactics that were being taught at the Imperial Phoenix Military Academy, and fortunately enough, as a student of the Special Course Class, he could basically choose the courses and seminars that he wanted to visit.

This was another perk for the students of the Special Course Class that he had used to the fullest. Aside from that, he had most of the day free and most of the week; thus, he was spending it training in the facilities that were for the students of the Special Course Class.

Obviously, his sparring partner was always Jeniael Luxford because the girl was determined to win a match against him, but even after several weeks, that had yet to come. Still, she had proven herself to be a very valuable sparring partner because, due to her battle-maniac tendencies, she could spar for a long time and also at any time.

During the past few weeks, in fact, he had been spending most of his free time with Jeniael because she, too, was spending all of her time within the Imperial Phoenix Military Academy as she wasn't wandering out.

When it came to the other classmates of the Special Course Class, Jeniael didn't met any of them aside from Zehal Lena Alvix, whom neither of them saw for some time already.

Apparently, she was also studying advanced sciences, computer engineering, metaphysics, and Psionic engineering at the Imperial Phoenix Military Academy, so she was spending a lot of time in the laboratories or studying.

From what he had learned about the Heiress Apparent of the House Alvix, she was rather some kind of genius or whatever, long short story, she was pretty smart.

Aside from the two young women, he didn't meet anyone, though for a few times, he had another opportunity to see Zehal and Jeniael interacting, and it almost every single time devolved into a fight as neither of them could stand the other one.

Arcturus decided to remain in the Imperial Phoenix Military Academy for at least six months or so to comprehend as much of the materials as possible and catch up with the standards of the Imperial Education System.

Afterward, he would be going to undertake some missions from the Imperial Phoenix Military Academy's Administration Office, which was issuing missions to the students that they can complete and obtain additional credits as a reward and thus obtain more resources for their cultivation and their needs.

He also planned to ask Jeniael if she wasn't interested in going together with him on the missions because she, too, was still cooped up within the Academy and just training. During the time, the Red Queen was meticulously carrying out the upgrades and works on the Obscurus to push the starship to an entirely new level and was even expanding the ship.

Arcturus decided to invest all of the Universal Credits into the Obscurus because, in the end, most if not all of his resources would be obtained through the Imperial Phoenix Military Academy or through the missions from the Academy and during the missions from the Academy.

Thus, he came to the conclusion that his Universal Credits would be much better used if they were being used to purchase materials and things that were needed for the upgrades on the Obscurus.

Obscurus was, in the end, designed to be an Adjudicator-Class Capital Ship of the Mothership Type, but it was still very small compared to the geniue Motherships that were being employed by the High-Level Civilisations and High-Level Star Nations across the Cosmos.

Currently, he was once again sparring against Jeniael, though neither of them was fighting at their full, and both of them were fighting with the training swords and wearing training suits as they were using just their sword skills during the match.

Because Jeniael was very talented in swordsmanship; they often sparred against each other using only their sword skills and nothing else. The sword style that she was using was something that was exclusive to the House Luxford because it was supposed to be used in correlation with the Holy Judgment of God.

But what the creators of this sword style didn't count with was the situation like the one with Jeniael because, first and foremost, the sword style she was using was supposed to be used as a supplementary method for the user.

Not as the primary means of combat, which was obviously showing itself in the effectiveness and power of the sword style. She was forced to keep on elevating the swordsmanship to a higher level and creating her very own sword style that perfectly suited her own needs.
