Chapter 97: Game Over
BANG!
Aren blocked an attack from the Hammer of Ragna and was thrown through the air. Immediately, Fang and the lightning wolf lunged at Ragna. The lightning wolf unleashed a terrifying blast of lightning. Ragna blocked it with his hammer but was still pushed back several meters.
Fang came in from the side with a lunge.
"Don't be sneaky!" Ragna roared, stomping his foot into the ground with so much force that the rocks cracked outward. Fang was fast enough to move around him, but that gave Ragna enough time to fully turn his attention to Fang. He hurled his hammer at him with full force.
The hammer tore through the air. Fang barely managed to dodge.
Ragna had already lunged toward Aren, who stood behind the lightning wolf. The lightning wolf charged instantly. Ragna stretched out his hand, the hammer returning to him, and he swung down as the wolf released a lightning breath at the same time.
Hammer and lightning collided.
Bolts exploded in every direction, tearing up the ground and destroying everything nearby.
"Arghhhh! You cannot stop me, summoner!" Ragna roared, pushing his hammer down harder. He overwhelmed the lightning and slammed the hammer straight into the wolf's head, destroying the shadow completely.
His feet barely touched the ground before he bolted forward.
"Stop hiding behind your summons! Face me. I know you can!" Ragna bellowed, swinging at Aren.
Aren leaned back, dodging cleanly. He took a step back and blocked the next attack with his wolf guard, the collision sending out a massive shockwave.
Ragna was ready to unleash another barrage, seeing Aren remain defensive, but then Aren pushed forward.
His eyes shone as his claws shot toward Ragna's chest.
Ragna was stunned and tried to retreat, but Aren was faster. He closed the gap instantly, shocking Ragna even further.
"Tch." Ragna clicked his tongue. "Since you want to go, then let's go."
All the tattoos across his body lit up with a dark red glow. His hammer followed suit. His speed exploded as he swung downward.
The hammer fell like a meteor from the sky.
Aren's eyes tracked the weapon as it descended, intent on ending him. Ragna wore a look of domination. Using his special ability at the perfect moment had secured his victory.
But then—
Aren smiled, stretching ear to ear. He looked up with a gaze that said it all.
This was over.
He infused his armor with soul energy and instantly activated its true form, boosting all four of his stats tenfold.
"Game over," Aren muttered, lifting his hand to block.
BOOOOOOOM!
The collision shook the air and ground alike. A massive shockwave tore through the surroundings, cracking the walls and ripping through the terrain.
Aren was pushed back a few feet.
Ragna was sent flying.
He slammed into the ground and rolled several meters before stopping.
Ragna forced himself up, coughing a mouthful of blood, and stared at Aren, who stood there with a smirk.
"You decided to go all out, so I decided to as well," Aren said calmly. "Not that I needed to, but I'll entertain your ambitions a little."
He vanished.
Ragna couldn't even see him before a knee slammed into his head, sending him flying again, blood spraying from his face.
Ragna barely landed on his feet, eyes darting wildly, and then a kick came out of nowhere. He raised his hammer just in time to block, but the force hurled him straight into the wall. He coughed up more blood and dropped to one knee.
"Hahahahaha!" Ragna burst into laughter as he rose again. "Damn, you really are something. A summoner with power that surpasses mine. I'm considered a genius, but you? You're a monster."
He paused, then grinned. "But regardless, I'll take the win now!"
His tattoos flared once more as he charged.
Aren smirked and settled into a stance.
"Let's see."

On the other side, Zero leaped from spatial platform to spatial platform like a monkey as the hawk relentlessly attacked with lightning bolts. So far, none had managed to touch her.
She flipped off the last platform and, while upside down, pointed her finger at the hawk, closing one eye.
"Boom."
Multiple spatial spheres shot through the air. The hawk tried to flee, but the attacks were too fast and too numerous. Explosions rang out, and the bird fell from the sky, slamming into the ground just as Zero landed.
She straightened up, smiling, and looked at Lily.
Lily stared at the battered remains of her hawk, then snapped her fingers. It returned to her in a streak of light.
"Quite impressive," Lily said.
"You're yet to see what I'm capable of," Zero replied.
"And so are you," Lily said, removing one of her many rings, a gold one with a blue crystal. She tossed it into the air, where it transformed into a golden spear with a blue crystal tip.
She pointed it at Zero. "Let's see you dance some more."
She flicked the spear upward. It immediately multiplied into ten, all firing at Zero at once.
"What even is your ability?" Zero asked as she countered with spatial spheres. Explosions ripped through the air. The spears were knocked back, merging into one again.
Lily snapped her fingers and appeared where the spear reformed. She caught it and thrust forward instantly.
Zero flipped backward, narrowly dodging as the spear stabbed into the ground.
"Why would I tell you my ability?" Lily said coolly. "I'm not sure you deserve to know it."
"Oh yeah," Zero replied, cracking her knuckles. "Now I'm pissed. I'll beat the hell out of you." She didn't even use space anymore, lunging forward at top speed to close the distance between them. Lily clicked her lips as she went for a slash, but Zero dodged low easily.
She snapped up like she was made of rubber before spinning, sending a kick right at Lily's chest, landing clean and seding her flying. Lily flipped and landed on both feet.
"This is going to he a hassle." She said before ripping off the lower end of her dress, "this is better."
