Chapter 61: [62] President Ryan!
Aaron blushed with excitement, as being complimented by the President was a great honor. Gaffrite then looked at the 10 new Grade one Geneticists on the stage and said, "All of you did very well. The Guild will depend on you to grow and prosper in the future."
A group of people, including Klein and Mayor, were flushed with excitement. Although they were not as crazy as the apprentices, the looks on their faces showed that their emotions were touched.
"Mr. President, we will work hard to develop and become one ofthe greatest Geneticist like your. " one of the apprentices said.
Just when they were all so excited, no one had noticed that Gaffrite's eyes secretly glancing at a certain person, then quickly looked back again. He then said, "Let's not waste any more time. Let the ceremony begin."
Gaffrite smiled, his demeanor affable. In fact, he didn't look anything like the President of the Guild, nor did he have any of the usual authoritative or snotty presence about him. Seeing this, even the 15 grade Two Geneticists, who were standing at the back, looked surprised.
Theon was the last in line. As Gaffrite presented them with the badges, the newcomers were all thrilled.
"Mr. Gaffrite, you've always been my most admired Geneticist, especially when you developed the C-grade rapid serum, which stimulates and muscle speed by 20% as compared to the serums in the past. It had such a great impact on Evolved Beings! This is so incredible ..." Klein was so excited meeting with Gaffrite, he became instantly incoherent.
"Hahaha, you are Klein. I remember you," Gaffrite smiled and patted Klein on his shoulder. "Your potential is comparable to Jasmine's. Work harder in the future."
"I will!" Klein was so encouraged by Gaffrite's words, he nearly fainted with excitement. After all, it was his first time meeting such an important person.
"Miss Jasmine, you have done a good job as well," Gaffrite smiled and handed Jasmine her badge and suit. Even though Jasmine was still looking seemingly indifferent, Theon, who was standing beside her, noticed that Jasmine's ears were flushed with excitement.
"Mr. Gaffrite, can I follow you, maybe even learn more about the serum?" Jasmine suddenly spoke up with a very abrupt request.
Even the Grade Two Geneticists, who were standing at the back, were stunned. Aaron's brows furrowed, as he felt that Jasmine's request was a bit too much.
After all, Gaffrite was a C-grade Geneticist. Even the Grade Two Geneticists were eager to follow him and learn from him. So, it was unthinkable that Jasmine, who had just become a Grade one Geneticist, would make such a bold request!
"Ha ha, if you are interested, you can come and visit my research laboratory. However, I do not necessarily have time to guide you personally." Gaffrite laughed goodnaturedly, admiring her spunk.
At this moment, even the Grade Two Geneticists looked at Jasmine with envy. It would be a great inspiration to be able to visit the Geneticist's research laboratory often, and it would also be a great help in learning to refine serum in the future!
Even a Grade Two Geneticist would not be able to enter the research laboratory anytime that he wished! So, if one fostered a good relationship with Gaffrite, the chances of becoming his apprentice would greatly increase.
At that point, the president went forwards and arrived before Theon.
The president paused, his hands holding the Grade One Geneticist badge as his eyes studied the young man before him.
Finally, Ryan pinned the badge to Theon's chest then spoke in a voice that carried clearly through the hall.
"Congratulations, Geneticist Theon. Your performance today has been truly extraordinary. A perfect theoretical score, combined with a one hundred percent success rate across three different Grade One serums including the notoriously difficult Primal Blood Serum."
The room erupted in fresh murmurs. For President Ryan to offer such praise was unprecedented, especially for someone who had scored the lowest in elemental talent detection.
Ryan continued, his gaze never leaving Theon's face. "I would like to request a private meeting with you in my study, if you would be willing to spare me some time immediately following this ceremony."
Everyone in the hall gasped loudly in shock. A private meeting with President Ryan? The other newly certified Geneticists stared at Theon with expressions ranging from shock to envy to disbelief. Even Aaron looked stunned.
Gordon grabbed Clay's arm so hard the older man winced. "Did President Ryan just invite Theon for a private meeting?" he whispered urgently.
"I heard it too," Clay responded, his eyes wide with amazement.
Klein's proud smile had frozen on his face, replaced by an expression of confused jealousy. How had Theon, who he'd mentally relegated to being an interesting rival at best, suddenly leapt so far ahead in terms of recognition?
Mayor simply stood with his mouth hanging open, unable to process what he'd just witnessed.
Even Jasmine, whose composure rarely cracked, looked up from the badge she'd been examining with surprise evident in her clear eyes. She studied Theon as though seeing him for the first time, genuine curiosity breaking through her usual indifference.
The noble apprentices who had remained to watch the ceremony wore expressions of barely concealed fury and confusion. First Osborn had been humiliated and forced to run naked around the Geneticist Guild building, and now this civilian upstart was receiving personal attention from the branch president himself? The natural order of things seemed to be inverting before their eyes.
"I would be honored, President Ryan," Theon replied calmly, showing no nervousness or excitement.
Ryan nodded with approval. "Excellent. Please wait in the antechamber while I conclude the ceremony. This won't take long."
True to his word, President Ryan finished distributing the remaining badges and Geneticist robes, though it was clear that everyone's attention had already shifted to Theon and the mysterious private meeting that awaited him.
When the ceremony concluded, Ryan gestured for Theon to follow him. The crowd parted like water before them as they made their way through the hall and toward the upper floors of the Geneticist Guild building. The fifteen grade 2 Geneticists who had accompanied Ryan remained behind, though Theon could feel their intense gazes boring into his back as he walked away.
