SSS Rank Chef: Rising In The World Of Magic

Chapter 40: Advantages of the Divine Farm

[Ash Viper meat will provide Strength, Durability and Mana. As a mutated monster that has elemental powers, it will provide a lot more mana compared to regular low ranked mutated monsters.]

[Crimson Viper meat will provide Strength, Durability and Perception.]

'Right.. this leaves endurance and vitality. I guess this much is fine for now.'

With such thoughts, he headed to the river with his sister once again. After washing themselves, he casually looked at one of the snakes that had hidden itself.

A moment later a perfectly skinned body appeared in front of him. It looked like a long and thick cloth instead of meat. It was pale, almost whitish pink — very similar to the colour of raw chicken but slightly paler.

Having absolutely no experience with cooking snake meat in his entire life, he went with the simplest method of cooking it on a flat rock. Unlike chicken which he was pretty familiar with, he did not know how to tell when the snake meat was properly cooked.

'I'd rather use a method where I overcook the meat instead of under cook it…' he mused as he chopped the snake meat into manageable lengths of six inches each except for the last one which was slightly smaller.

He placed two on the hot sizzling stone that was covered in dumbnut oil and the rest were placed on a large leaf that was folded over to keep it safe from above. The meat was lightly seasoned with salt and pepper and once it looked like it was cooked, he placed them on one inch thick wooden 'plates'.

Nina gave him a sideways glance before taking a bite of her share while he put two more pieces on the stone. Once done, Lukas hesitantly stared at it for a few seconds before checking it's buffs.

[Cooked Ash Viper Meat]

It's Ash Viper that's been sliced and cooked. Has a little bit of salt and pepper, making a little more than just regular cooked meat.

Effects: +38 Strength, +35 Durability

Additional Effects: +100 instant mana regeneration

Permanent Effects: +3 Max Mana, +2 Strength, +2 Durability

'God damn! This really is a night and day difference between a FFF rank mutated monster like the Long Horned Rabbit and the F ranked Ash Viper. This really is kinda crazy…'

With his hesitation suppressed by his state of shock and excitement, he took a small bite. The meat tasted mostly like chicken but it also felt like there was some fish mixed into it. It was slightly chewy, nothing too extreme for him to hate the meat.

Slowly, the two of them finished eating their breakfast and once they were done, Lukas checked his stats.

[Stats]

Strength: 9 (+38)

Speed: 14

Endurance: 9

Durability: 9 (+35)

Vitality: 9

Dexterity: 14

Perception: 9

Mana: 28

'Ah… right, I ate the rabbit almost an hour or two ago. There needs to be a gap of atleast six hours for the permanent stats to take effect but it looks like there's no restriction for temporary stats… hmm.'

As he realised this, he couldn't help but wonder if he could make something so small that it would be extremely easy to eat — in a single bite. A food that would enable him to change his stats midway through a fight.

'Yeah, maybe I can do that. For now I'll just go back to the hut and continue reading the guide to mutation rituals.'

On their way back home, they luckily weren't attacked and they managed to reach their hut safely. Lukas lazily sprawled on the floor as he read the book like it was a random novel.

Due to the letter being hand written, they were big and in turn didn't not have as much content as Lukas had expected. The book looked thick but the contents inside were equivalent to a thin book.

Mutation rituals could basically be categorised into three types.

First was the direct and most dangerous type. Swallowing the mutated monster core and praying for the best. The death rate wasn't high but the mutations were never perfect as they always came with certain side effects.

In a way it wasn't even considered a ritual but it was still mentioned since it was the most commonly used method before the great author Suk Madeek had kicked off the tribes' evolution in the area of mutations.

Second type was was a method used by various tribes that had wise shamans. It was to draw a circle with various symbols, all of with had a special meaning. The person who wished to undergo a successful mutation would sit in the center before they consumed the core.

Due to the circle being drawn using the blood of the same creature from which the core was extracted from, the core would consider the person in the center as the creature. This increased the chance of success but it also had a huge chance of failure.

Unlike the first method where there would be a few side effects, this method would directly make them lose their minds, completely transforming them into a humanoid beast that bore an extreme resemblance to the creature they had chosen for their mutation.

Last method was claimed to be the safest by the great author and it was the only method that did not include direct consumption of the core. Instead, it used mana breathing which was slightly different.

It absorbed mana directly from the core instead of the atmosphere and through this way, one would have to selectively extract the mana that was 'safe' to be extracted. If not, they would have certain side effects or mutations.

Using the ritual circle from the second method was absolutely important as it would be impossible to absorb the mana within the core otherwise.

There were no reasons written as to why it would be impossible to absorb the mana within, making Lukas feel a little annoyed.

'I don't wish to play with my own life to find out the answers to my questions… tch. Anyways system, do you know of a way to remove the bad stuff from a monster core?'

[Remove it directly. You can do it through Automatic Processing in your Divine Farm.]

"HELL YEAH, BABY!! Take your methods and shove it up your ass, Suk- Fuuuuck!!"
