SSS Rank Chef: Rising In The World Of Magic

Chapter 34: How To Get Stronger?

After everyone finished eating, Lukas saw most of the members of the tribe lay down directly on the ground before they closed their eyes. Only a few members walked into huts made of different materials.

He turned to look at his sister and then gave her a nod before the two of them sat down on the ground and began mediating. Nina had to expel most of her mana but Lukas had already done that when he gave out classes to the 'chosen ones'.

They meditated for three hours, completing two circles. One circle meant expelling and absorbing mana completely.

[Ding! Maximum Mana has increased by 1.]

With a yawn, Lukas looked at Nina whispered, "Give me your hand. It's time."

Nina nodded and let Lukas hold her hand. She didn't have to wait for long to hear two chimes in her head.

[Congratulations, you have acquired - Primary Job: Assassin]

[Congratulations, you have acquired - Secondary Job: Ice Mage]

These were two of the many jobs that Lukas had learned about from the books he had received from Amon. He didn't bother giving these to the tribe members due to the fact that they weren't exactly familiar with the classes.

Another reason was that he wanted to witness the effectiveness of the common classes in this island.

He let go of her hand with a grin on his face, "Now all you have to do is train. It's the same for me though… we're weaker than the kids here…"

As he muttered, he got to his feet and walked into the hut that was meant for the shaman and saw the four year old child sleeping peacefully. Beside him, was the new hero of the tribe.

Without making any noise, the siblings lay on the floor and silently went to sleep. It wasn't comfortable, but it wasn't much different from their situation in their village.

Lukas woke up next morning and walked out to see the people sitting outside the hut, waiting for him.

'Don't tell me they expect me to give them food everyday… I mean, I could but I also don't want to see them get lazy.' he thought as he glared at Rena, "What is going on here?"

"We are waiting for the forest spirit's blessings!" she said excitedly like a child, a complete contrast to her intimidating appearance.

Already having expected this, Lukas slowly looked at the crowd.

"The forest spirit isn't going to give you any blessings!" he yelled, "What did you give the forest spirit to demand blessings? Nothing! Prepare offerings if you wish to receive blessings." he said before walking towards the direction of a nearby river.

As he walked, he continued speaking, "Yesterday was an exception. Go out and bring food like you always do. If there's something to offer, then we can slowly make the spirit happy and get her blessings someday."

The people immediately got to work, their thoughts of getting free food vanishing in an instant. He then finally turned to Uke, Tama and Kiki who had been following him the moment he walked out of his hut.

"Right…" he muttered as he glanced at Nina, " Tama, go to Hunter Balo. Uke, go to Rena and Hugo and Kiki, you must go to Hero Noma. Ask them to teach you."

The trio nodded and left Lukas alone with his sister.

"Finally…" he muttered as he headed over to the river and took turns with his sister to wash himself and keep watch when his sister was washing herself. Once this was done, he started a fire right at the river bank.

As he sat in front of the fire, he took out all the stuff he had inside of his storage rings. There were three toe rings, one filled with salt, one with pepper and the third was filled with miscellaneous items like utensils, books, tools and clothes.

The first and second rings had a storage space of 125 cubic meters each while the third one was 1000 cubic meters. He kept one book out and send the rest inside as he looked at his divine farm.

'I didn't ask this yesterday but… why did I get a feedback even though I didn't cook?'

[User provided instructions and the assistants cooked based on the instructions. This is considered as cooking based on your knowledge, which counts towards feedback if a person likes the food.]

He nodded inwardly as he selected a D rank Long Horned Rabbit and clicked on the Automatic Processing button. As he did that, he saw small list of options appear and selected the custom option.

[Please state your instrucions.]

'Skin it, take off the organs and… well, put them in the trash or something. Keep the heart and kidneys though, Nina likes them. The head can go in the trash too but the horn… store it in the inventory. Can you make something with it?'

[Automatic Processing can, at most, change the shape of the material.]

'That's more than enough. Shape it into a sharp blade, suitable for crafting into a dagger.' he gave instructions in his head and looked at the last remaining item, the monster core. It was dark red in colour, almost black.

'Store the core in the inventory.'

[Instructions received. Processing…]

[Processing complete. Ding!]

A moment later, a perfectly skinned rabbit carcass appeared in front of Lukas. Without wasting any time, he flattened the body and pierced two sticks into the meat, making a stitch like pattern as he weaved it from one side to the other.

Once this was done, he rubbed some salt and pepper on it before letting it roast beside the fire.

"I'm a little nervous…" he said as he looked at his sister who nodded. Even she looked a little bit nervous but he could also sense her excitement.

"I never expected that one day, I'll be able to eat monster meat." he said and chuckled before closing his eyes and expelling the mana inside his body.

As he did his mana breathing, he couldn't help but think about his options of getting stronger.

'The best option is to use the mutation method… it's the fastest but it's also risky. I could go the safer route and consistently build up my stats by eating food. I wonder what stats I'll get with this one.'
