Chapter 77: FIGHTING BEASTS AND VINES
This Frost Tiger was about seven feet tall and it knew it had come for one victim.
Someone who had trespassed in its territory.
The crowd held their breath.
This was the time they would see the SSS talent user in action.
Since so many rumors have been passed around, they wanted to see things for themselves.
"I heard that he isn't worth having the tag of SSS TALENT. His emblem grade is even lower than the F-class." A woman whispered to her husband behind her, causing the man to chuckle.
"Look at how he ran away. Of course he isn't worth such tag. However I hopes he gives us enough drama before he dies. I have lost faith in these people claiming to be powerful things and then disappointing us. Death serves them right." The man spoke out.
"Reduce your voice, Honey. People here also have their heros. Just eat your snack and stop being a fun spoiler." The lady frowned and turned back to the screen.
She didn't even know why she had spoken to the man in the first place.
Above the bickering couple was an old man with a cane.
He had heard the words of the couple and his grip on the case tightened that there were visible cracks on its surface.
"Father, relax. Reith is going to make us proud." A young woman said as she placed her hand over the old man's fist.
She knew Reith was strong. After all, she had taken care of him for ten years.
Ever since Reisa brought him to the orphanage, Reith had been strong even before then.
"He is strong and it's not just brawns. He has heart too. You taught him that." She looked at the old man's face to see him smiling too.
The old man sighed, "Thank you Lisa." And then they resumed their focus back to the screen.
Reith had moved away from the rock and a staff was in hand while he walked to the tiger.
"Time to see if it was all worth it." Reith said.
Sighting the Frost Tiger, his PulseID powered on and the attributes of the Tiger were displayed in front of him.
Reith's eyes widened. He didn't realise that the PulseID was so useful.
It made sense since this was the same thing they used the access the values of certain herbs.
But the strength of the Saber Toothed Tiger shocked him.
It was at a whopping fourty which meant this beast was nearing the A-grade level.
Human and Beats grades were never the same as the animals always had an advantage compared to the humans so their teir was two level higher.
Which means a A-grade adventurer could match the strength of a C-grade beast.
Reith swallowed and he gripped the staff even tighter.
Frost Tiger moved, its paw raised and headed straight for Reith.
Lisa gripped the edge of her seat, causing her father to chuckle.
Wasn't it this same woman who said her son was strong?
Reith side stepped, lowering his head and raising the staff above his head.
The paw of the Frost Tiger landed on the staff, causing a clang to echo in the whole place and the force pushed Reith in to the distance, causing him to fly in the air.
He twisted in the air with a grunt.
"I knew that hit would be strong." He uttered, glancing at the surface of his staff. There was a few scratches on it.
To think that hide would be very strong.
His staff was built to penetrate skin.
"This fight isn't for me." Reith uttered when he landed back on his feet.
This beast only had one thousand five hundred points, it would be pointless to waste his time here when he could find smaller and less stronger beasts.
That way he would be able to get more points.
Watching him, the crowds laughed. They had expected he would chicken out.
Kane squinted his eyes.
That boy had been able to block the hit of a Frost Tiger at a B-grade.
The truth of the matter was that the reason why Reith had flown was due to the mere shockwave created by the force and speed of the hit.
If not, he would have remained on the same spot.
"Why did he run, he could have defeated that thing if he could block the hit?" Kane spoke out his frustration to Leon.
Leon nodded slowly, "He probably didn't think he could do it." A smile tugged at the corner of Leon's lip when he spoke.
Kane was bewildered, and then he paused. He remembered the first time he met Reith.
The boy had also reduced his skills but it had turned out to be something peak.
"I see. Probably some mental trauma." Kane mumbled and Leon was quick to pick on that.
"That's why I'm putting you in charge of him." Leon gave Kane a smile and patted his back.
There was so much he had in plan
Kane ignored Leon's antics, and focused on Reith.
Even if Leon had not said anything, he would have gone ahead and made the boy his disciple already.
Meanwhile Reith couldn't care less about what these people thought.
He wanted to find Isho and maybe then, they could partner together.
Unbeknownst to him, the Frost Tiger had picked up his scent and was moving at a great speed wanting to catch its prey.
This one would not get by so quickly.
Meanwhile, Isho waved his sword endlessly, cutting through the thick forest vines that seemed to swallow him whole.
Because of his F-grade talent, he didn't have much Hana to keep Urek active, so he had to use his mere strength.
He moved his sword with precision and sliced through a swamp moss.
This caused his points to shoot up by fifty.
There was a circular tag on the side of his chest where he could see the display of his point as long as he directed Hana to the tag.
This allowed for only the user to know their points.
"I should get out of this place and find Reith. Knowing him, he wouldn't be on trouble but I still need to be useful to him."
Isho gritted his teeth and resumed working
The covering of the vines were so thick that he could barely see sunlight.
But due to Urek's ability, he was well directed.
A large bang echoed in the ice realm as the Frost Tiger landed, stopping right in front of Reith's path.
It looked up with a glint in its eyes as if to say, 'and where do you think you are going? I'm just about to get started.'
