Chapter 93: Two Months Later
[Volume 2]
A silhouette could be seen running, his footsteps echoing.
He reached a massive doorway and made his way in.
"Master! Master! There's news!"
In the towering hall, a robust figure sat upon a gold-sculpted throne. On his head was a slanted gleaming crown embedded with ether crystals of the purest kind, some with elemental properties casting different luminance.
The figure opened his eyes, and a pair of deep gold irises met the servant's figure.
The sheer pressure released from the king-like figure forced the servant onto all fours as he stuttered to relay his message.
"M-Master, there's n-news on the territory you said we should keep tabs on…"
The king's eyes shone brighter, his frame leaning forward in interest.
Seeing his master's attention caught, the servant continued:
"Their borders have been opened! The scouts have confirmed this. They even caught sight of a Lord making their way into the territory."
The king-like figure blinked, the edges of his lips widening into a grin.
"Finally, those mysterious bastards got rid of their turtle shells. Since that day we spectated the battle of their calamity, I suspected their Lord to be dead. If not dead, then at least seriously injured!"
Lux's grip on his armrest tightened as he continued, his eyes gleaming insidiously.
"It was the perfect chance to get rid of such a threatening opponent… Who would have thought they would upgrade their territory immediately after, halting our entry? And by the time the upgrade ended, they put up a barrier that prohibited entry to all Lords and their subordinates, only letting in those unaffiliated!"
Lux's teeth gnashed, malice seeping from his figure.
"They've hidden in this turtle shell for two whole months! It seems they finally realized they couldn't keep hiding forever, and finally surrendered to their fates…"
Lux stood from his throne, making bold steps downward, his aura flaring so heavily and dense that space shuddered at his presence.
Two months had passed since that day…
The day he discovered that his so-called prowess wasn't worth anything before true power.
Roy's display humbled his arrogance, cooled his head, and made him realize he was still lacking.
It also broadened his horizons, making him aware there were beings out there that transcended the norms of reality.
But now things were different. His territory was one of the greatest in the surroundings, and he himself was arguably one of the strongest beings in Arcana.
He even believed he stood a chance against the mysterious Nine Supremes.
As a high-level individual, a Lord who had conquered eight territories, he believed even if he encountered Roy now things would be different.
He wouldn't be the one looking up to his opponent today. He was going to show that Lord the meaning of heavens beyond heavens.
Lux stepped into the light, his lustrous Epic armor in full display. On his waist was an Epic ancient sword called Gram, the Inevitable Annihilator.
"Go tell Daruos to rally up the troops… We are going for a conquest."
Lux's orders boomed across the entire hall as the servant scampered out of sight to obey.
Lux's gaze hardened, a smirk gracing his lips. Today was indeed a blessed day.

Meanwhile, hundreds of miles away, another equally powerful territory lay.
A land known as friends to all and enemies to none.
A blessed, resource-filled territory — a place known as the Merchant's Paradise. The territory of the Merchant Empress Vera Heart.
At the heart of her territory stood her renowned palace, an obsidian towering spire scraping the heavens.
Within, in her chambers, Vera could be seen dressed in a flowing purple regal gown.
She sat at her desk, before her a book of calculations which she engaged.
As a bearer of the Order of Trade, and the Merchant Empress, calculation was a skill inherent. After all, she couldn't afford to be cheated.
Suddenly, the temperature of her chambers dropped as a shadowy figure materialized beside her.
The figure bowed, remaining silent.
Vera waved nonchalantly, still engrossed in her calculations, giving permission.
"Speak, Ben."
Ben, finally getting permission, started to relay:
"Master, Lord Roy's territory is finally opened."
The words rang out, stiffening Vera's frame. Her eyes blinked as she closed her book, turning to her attendant.
"Are you sure of this?" She had to confirm, her heart racing as she clenched the helm of her gown, eagerly awaiting a reply.
The shadowy figure nodded.
"Some Lords have already proceeded into entry… Their intentions unknown."
Vera jumped up from her seat, eyes brimming with excitement.
"I have to notify the others… It's been two months already. That guy… I hope he's okay…"
She hurriedly made her way out of the room, muttering to herself under her breath.
The shadowy figure, seeing this, dissipated and appeared in her way.
"Master, I know you're eager to visit him, but you have to consider your actions. Things have changed. Your standings have changed. You're one of the strongest Lords on this continent.
And him? We're not even sure if he's alive. Not only that, other influential Lords have also been watching his territory closely. Now that the barrier is gone, they are bound to make a move."
The shadow paused, seeing his master's unchanged expression, then continued:
"Master, you have to understand — other Lords might go there as hostiles. We've finally resolved all conflicts with that madman Lux. We've built a reliable reputation as an ever-neutral force. Do you really want to jeopardize all we've earned for that guy?"
Vera's neatly sculpted brows furrowed, her emerald gaze glinting with anger.
"That is why I'm Lord and you are the subordinate! You can't even see the common truth. If Roy is really a nobody not worth our time, why are there other Lords, as you said, hurrying over?
I will say this once — relationship with that guy is worth more than all the connections we've built."
Her eyes shone with a domineering sheen. From Ben's perspective, it was as though her figure grew taller, casting a shadow over him.
Never since he began serving his Lord had he ever seen this side of her. She was mostly soft-hearted and easygoing, but today he saw the hegemonic side of her.
She commanded:
"Now get out of my way before I make you…"
At this order, Ben's body followed instinctively. Before he snapped out of his daze and realized he had moved, she was already out of sight.
