SSS Cosmic Policing System: Overpowered Cop's Odyssey

Chapter 114: Intervention

At the very cap of the Aegis dome, within the room at the highest peak…

All nine Lords spectated the scene unfolding below in silence.

"Don't you think it's about time we intervened? I know the subordinates said we shouldn't but…" Roderick commented with concern.

Aella stared at the battered silhouettes of Richard and the others, her face filled with pity.

"Sigh… these guys are really strong, too strong… I don't think I have a single hunter under my banner that's as skilled as they are. Unfortunately, they had to clash with these guys — the pinnacle ceiling of power below the Supremes."

Vera couldn't bear to watch anymore the moment she saw Roy's arm sent flying, leaving behind a streaming stump.

"You guys act as you see fit. But I'm going."

Leaving no room for the others to retort, her figure entered, soaring through the shattered frame of the room.

The rest glanced at each other, and Brandon voiced his tone carelessly:

"Why tally? It's not like we have a choice."

The rest sighed. The gambler was right — they couldn't stand as spectators and watch as their soon-to-be ally sank deeper into trouble.

And silently, all Lords took to the skies, some leaping, others threading the air.

Back on the surface ground, Roy faced the two opposing Lords, both above in the sky.

Lux used a special ability of his armor to stay in the air, while Haron's dark feathery wings still beat the wind, releasing sharp bursts to keep him aloft.

"Kakakakakakakah! What did you expect? That some buffed-up hunters would defeat us? DELUSIONAL, that's what you are!"

Haron's mad cackles rang through the skies as he mocked Roy.

Lux's gaze remained fixed on his prey, Roy, a victorious smile tugging his lips while his eyes remained heavy with disdain.

"I can't believe I was actually worried that this guy could, by some miracle, defeat me…" He scolded himself inwardly.

His emotions smoldered as all the inferiority and fear he once held in his heart the past month smoldered into hate — one overtly engulfing.

His grip over his broadsword went tight, his eyes brimming with the power of Domination.

But right before he could make a move, he paused, his expression turning ugly, his teeth grinding.

"I forgot about the existence of those bastards!"

Just as he had this thought, Haron also seemed to feel the myriad of dangerous presences engulfing the air.

His brows furrowed, his mad smile dissolving into a worried frown. He glanced at Lux.

"Why didn't you say anything about their presence? We would have brought the full squad if you had said something."

Lux hissed, kissing his teeth in annoyance.

"I remember sending the message requesting aid from allied Lords. You guys chose to act as you did! Don't you dare fault me!"

Haron scratched his head, distress clouding his face.

"Fair… but that doesn't change the situation we are in. This time we are the ones at the disadvantage."

The wind howled as nine figures landed. They controlled their impact to the terrain, not kicking up any waves of dust or debris.

All around Roy, at the forefront of these figures was Vera, her pink hair fluttering in the wind.

She stared at the skies, her emerald gaze holding contempt.

"It's about time your group left, Lux!"

Her words were commanding enough for one to discern this wasn't a request — it was an order.

Auras ignited as the atmosphere became stifled, all nine Lords flaring their presence.

Meanwhile, the man they appeared to save frowned. He recognized Vera clearly and could already deduce that the rest were the allies she mentioned.

But right now, this wasn't the type of help he needed. He didn't want to scare these guys off his territory. He wouldn't be satisfied even if they scrambled out of his land, tails tucked between their legs, all because of intimidation.

These guys injured his subordinates — people who delicately nursed him while he was unconscious and fragile — and naturally, he must have his revenge.

The nano-bionic bots in his body, like hard restless workers, were already at work. His decapitated arm was slowly being formatted back.

His eyes glinted. Not paying the Lords around him any mind, he summoned his legendary armor.

The legendary Police gear thrummed into existence, seeping out of his skin. Like a living armor, the item slowly grew into his figure.

Radiant lights of blue and red pulsed as the sleek jade-like armor came into view.

Like a modern tech exo-suit, outlined intricate pads glinted of legendary metal, simmering with interwoven runes of red and blue.

On his chest, unique patterns of glistening runic lines came together to form an emblem — something Roy never thought he had.

It depicted an all-seeing encompassing eye crossed with a flaming gun and a glistening baton, rimmed by a chain forming the outer edges of the emblem.

[Congratulations! Host has acquired Territory Emblem!!!]

Roy went stunned for a second, and right at this moment across his territory all cosmic police officers under his banner underwent something mystical.

An emblem seared itself into the badges of their uniforms. Even before the police outpost headquarters, a radiant banner took shape carrying on it the same emblem.

[As the first in Arcana to receive an emblem, Host has been rewarded with… Outerworld Shopping Coupon! (1)]

Roy's eyes went wide seeing this, his mind at the verge of wondering… but he could only force all these thoughts to the back of his mind.

Looking to his mirror-glass visor, he gazed at the outline frames of his two targets, and he hesitated no further.

With a clap of air and a storm of dust in his wake, Roy bolted into the skies.

His enemies' expressions went solemn, each holding tightly to their weapons, ready to meet their foe.

Seeing this, beneath his glistening black glass visor, a sinister smile pulled the edges of Roy's lips.

His ether streamed into the legendary armor in waves as the item obliged, drinking with relish. Dull runes of the armor ignited as the visor of the legendary armor simmered.

Beneath, Roy's mouth moved. He activated a special ability of the legendary item plating his body.

A special ability of the Police Chief's gear: Enforcer's Order is Law.

Roy's voice reverberated through the wind…

"FREEZE!"

Both opponents frowned and stiffened midair. Panic filled their heads, but their bodies remained unresponsive.

Their frames plummeted, and around Roy's arms the legendary armor, like liquid metal, writhed and bubbled as silent onyx-glinting protrusions resurfaced.

Two bladed arms in tow, Roy streaked for his defenseless prey.

Even if these bastards were leaving here, they would be doing so with half a life!
