SSS-Class Awakening: World Breaking Anomaly

Chapter 17: End of the negoitations

Legio led them through the Royal Palace's halls and soon enough, they arrived at the room designated for the meeting.

The room had two sets of chairs facing each other, Raphael sat on the left side and the tribe representatives sat on his sides while their followers stood behind them.

The same applied to Legio on the right side.

Once everyone was inside, Edmund couldn't hold himself back any longer and asked the question stuck in his mind for a long while.

"Your Majesty, pardon me, but may I ask why you sent us those gifts a few years ago?" Edmund spoke and Legio nodded his head in approval.

"Hmm, simply a token of gratitude—nothing more, nothing less."

I see…" Edmund smiled, barely satisfied with Raphael's answer, feeling that there was more to it.

However, he stopped since any more questions could be easily treated as disrespect.

"If everyone is at ease, could you each briefly introduce yourselves?" Legio spoke, and following his words, everyone did as told whether they were human or monster.

Once done, the room became silent for a few seconds until Raphael took the initiative to speak.

"Emperor Legio, I offer my deepest apologies for the war my father waged against your empire and I hope you understand our side." Raphael continued his words, explaining why such a war had begun in the first place.

"We accept your apology, though I believe compensation should be offered to ease the scars left by your father's actions."

"Naturally, but rest assured, we had that in mind from the start." Raphael nodded, a smile painting his face while he continued explaining what they could offer.

"That's fine, though it's more than necessary. Is there anything we can do in return?" What Raphael offered was tons of gold, metal, resources, and mostly lesser monsters to do the heavy labor for humans.

But as he expected, Legio didn't accept all of that shamelessly.

"Yes, Emperor Legio. While we don't lack such things, we are far behind when it comes to magic and technology." Raphael spoke, revealing such resources he offered were pretty useless to them.

Then he proceeded to bring up the ideas his representatives suggested.

Once done explaining, both sides began discussing the possibilities and what difficulties they could encounter by doing such a thing.

"It's troublesome, but we should move toward what's the best for both sides." Taurus Eastel spoke amid the ongoing discussions, shutting the rest down. Unlike them, he was far older and more knowledgeable.

"Your fears are understandable, but such issues will mostly fade as time passes." Raphael took the chance and doubled down on the old man's words.

"I have no issues with your proposals, but your children will have to go through basic education if they wish to advance properly." Legio finally spoke, his agreement reigning over his side.

"That's alright, Emperor Legio. But how would you do that?" Demetrius questioned, who offered to teach the humans their physique training methods.

"How about adding extra classes to your awakened children? As for the unawakened, they will attend the primary schools alongside our young." Legio responded to Demetrius' concern and the draconian nodded his head in approval.

It took another hour for everything to be debated and finalized by both sides and then the monsters bid their farewells and prepared themselves to leave.

Due to the primary school starting at seven, Elenora was bound to stay with her parents until she reached that age.

As for Raian, he was going to enroll in the Royal Academy soon. He just had to wait for the next educational year like the rest.

On the other hand, the humans sent some of their teachers to teach the children over there the basics like reading, writing, math, and such.

By the end, everyone was satisfied with the outcome.

Meanwhile, Taurus was busy experimenting with a new set of training to speed his up trait activation since it dropped significantly.

He didn't care much about the meeting, knowing he was bound to hear what he wanted from his father sooner or later.

The main key to activating the trait was how much effort he put into his training, and how hard it was.

As an example, the simple act of using a single arm for the push-ups dropped the sets to two.

With that, his strength training was settled, leaving behind the dexterity training.

Running was no longer enough no matter how much he ran as the attribute controlled his agility and speed as well.

He eventually found himself running with the fat Squeaky held in his arms as an extra weight, and surprisingly, it worked very well for him.

As for vitality, its speed became the slowest among the four attributes.

It was not like he could meditate harder even if he wanted.

Aside from that, he had to write and read more to improve further.

He wasn't even spared from math and he naturally understood why since his parents pushed him forward, eager to know his interface information.

Once done with his tasks, he was allowed to play and spend his time with the critter as usual.

During this free time, he would chat with Mammot through the soul link since the titan was not too far from him.

By the evening, Taurus glanced at his status.

Once done, he waited for Edmund excitedly, curious about the results.

"Mommy! When is Daddy coming back, and what is a monster?!" Hearing the new presence approaching them, Taurus took the chance and rushed to his mother, questioning her the same thing he did the previous day.

"Is it possible to marry a monster?! Do they have girls?!" He asked curiously, his question shocking Alexandra deeply.

"It's complicated, Honey… But, I suppose you could," He rejoiced internally as the door flung open, rushing over there upon his father's appearance.

"Daddy! Can I marry a monster?!" Taurus jumped into his father's arms after asking, wondering whether he tolerated such a thing or not.
