SSR Waifu Summoner

Chapter 114: 7 Days of “Normal” Life (Part 1)

Day 1.

*Thwack! Thwack! Thwack!*

The rhythmic sound of hammers hitting wood echoed across the clearing as construction officially began.

Belkia stood at the center of organized chaos, her deer ears twitching as she coordinated multiple teams simultaneously.

"Group A, focus on foundation work for the housing cluster! Group B, start clearing and leveling the eastern sector! Group C, I need you processing lumber according to these specifications!"

Her voice carried authority despite her gentle appearance, decades of construction experience making delegation second nature.

Helya prowled between work sites with her characteristic boldness, the white tiger beastwoman's amber eyes scanning everything with critical precision.

"No, no, no! That support beam is angled wrong!"

She physically moved a confused warrior aside, demonstrating proper placement with her own enhanced strength.

"See? 15-degree angle, not 20! Basic structural engineering! If you don't get the foundation right, the whole building comes down in the first storm!"

"S-Sorry, Ms. Helya!"

"Don't apologize, just fix it!"

Nero watched the controlled pandemonium from a slight distance, genuinely impressed by how quickly organization had emerged.

What could have been a complete disaster had transformed into efficient production through the expertise of his summons.

'They really know what they're doing.'

The thought carried both satisfaction and relief as he saw the other side where Belkia was doing a checklist among the other strength-type waifus, coordinating the team skillfully with Helya.

[Master's waifus are super skilled!] Aria's cheerful voice chimed in his mind. [R-tier doesn't mean incompetent! It just means their raw power levels are lower! But skill and knowledge? Totally master-level!]

'Yeah, I'm seeing that firsthand.'

Near the material stockpiles, several craftswomen sorted supplies with methodical efficiency.

Stone blocks organized by size and quality.

Lumber categorized by type and structural purpose.

Metal fittings inventoried and distributed according to immediate needs.

"We'll need more foundation stone by tomorrow," one of them called out to Belkia. "At this construction pace, we'll exhaust the current supply before completing the first housing cluster!"

"Noted! I'll coordinate with Master Nero about additional materials!"

The architect's mind was clearly tracking multiple variables simultaneously, adjusting plans in real-time as construction revealed practical challenges.

Meanwhile, Celis moved between groups with her characteristic grace, offering encouragement and occasionally using her nature-based abilities to accelerate plant growth for decorative landscaping.

"Thy efforts are most admirable," she told a tired mason who'd been setting foundation stones for hours. "Rest briefly. I shall prepare refreshments."

Her gentle presence had a calming effect that prevented exhaustion from turning into frustration, maintaining morale through simple kindness.

As the afternoon sun began its descent, Belkia called for a progress meeting.

"Day one results: foundation work for five buildings completed. Road layout marked and partially leveled. Material processing on schedule. Overall progress: 8% of phase one construction."

She looked satisfied despite the seemingly small percentage.

"At this pace, we'll complete the initial village in approximately 7 days."

"... 7 days for an entire village?" Nero asked, genuinely surprised. "That's... really fast."

"That's the power of magic," Helya explained with a grin. "Especially when you have earth manipulators for foundation work, fire users for material processing, and enhancement specialists for heavy lifting… Besides, this is actually slow considering we could build this within just 2 days if we rush it!"

"..."

Damn, what a flex to modern industrial construction… Nero noted.

"... Plus," Belkia added, "everyone here is genuinely skilled at their craft. No amateurs learning on the job. That eliminates most delays from mistakes or inefficiency."

As darkness fell over the island, temporary shelters had been erected for those who couldn't fit in Luna's villa.

Nothing fancy, just weatherproof tents enhanced with basic comfort magic.

But the organized efficiency spoke volumes about the community taking shape.

Day 2.

Morning arrived with Nero standing in Luna's kitchen, surrounded by several very confused professional chefs.

"So, Master Nero..." one of them began hesitantly, a rabbit beastkin named Mira whose long ears drooped with polite confusion. "You want us to make... what exactly?"

"Stew," Nero replied simply, already pulling ingredients from storage. "But not your typical fantasy world stew that you guys might have… I'm thinking more like Earth-style beef stew with vegetables, rich broth, and proper seasoning."

He demonstrated basic preparation, his movements showing the casual competence of someone who'd cooked for themselves for years.

Onions diced efficiently.

Carrots cut into uniform chunks.

Meat seasoned with salt, pepper, and herbs that the chefs recognized but had never combined quite like this.

"The key is layering flavors," he explained while working. "You don't just throw everything in a pot and call it done. You build complexity through technique and timing."

The chefs watched with growing fascination as he seared meat in batches, creating that crucial Maillard reaction.

Then aromatics – garlic and ginger hitting hot oil with their distinctive sizzle.

Deglazing with wine to capture all those flavorful browned bits.

"Now the base liquid. Stock, not just water. And we're adding tomato paste for umami depth..."

"Umami?" another chef asked, her fox ears perking with interest. "What's that?"

"Savory flavor. Like... the taste of properly cooked meat or aged cheese. It's a whole flavor category you might not have formal terms in your world, but you've definitely experienced it."

The demonstration continued with Nero explaining techniques that seemed obvious to him but clearly revolutionary to professional cooks from another dimension.

Temperature control for different cooking stages.

Balancing acid and fat.

The importance of proper seasoning at multiple points rather than just at the end.

"Taste as you go," he emphasized, offering a spoon to Mira. "Cooking isn't just following a recipe. It's understanding what flavors need at each stage."

The rabbit beastkin's eyes went wide as she tasted the developing stew.

"This is... I've never... the depth of flavor is incredible! And it's not even finished!"

"That's the point of building layers. Each step adds something that combines with everything else."

By the time he'd walked them through the complete process, the professional chefs looked like students who'd just had their understanding of their craft completely revolutionized.

"The techniques themselves aren't complicated," Mira observed thoughtfully. "But the way you combine them, the attention to detail at each stage... we've been cooking for decades and never thought to approach it like this."

"Different world, different food culture," Nero said with a shrug. "Your techniques are probably way more advanced in areas I don't even know exist. This is just what I grew up with."

"Could you... could you show us more?" another chef asked hopefully. "We need to feed everyone anyway, and learning these techniques while doing so would be invaluable!"

"Sure, but I'm putting you in charge once you get the basics down. Your actual cooking skills are way better than mine. I'm just sharing different approaches."

The chefs eagerly agreed, already discussing among themselves how to adapt and improve on what they'd learned.

By lunchtime, massive pots of stew had been prepared under the chefs' increasingly confident direction.

The aroma wafting across the construction site was enough to make everyone stop working and follow their noses like cartoon characters.

"What is that smell?!" one of the warriors called out, practically drooling.

"Lunch is ready!" Mira announced proudly. "Master Nero taught us a new preparation method!"

The response was immediate and enthusiastic.

Workers lined up with bowls, accepting generous portions of steaming stew that looked and smelled nothing like standard otherworldly fare.

The first taste reactions were priceless.

"!!!"

Eyes widening in shock.

Ears perking up with delight.

Tails swishing with obvious pleasure across multiple species.

"This is incredible!" a dwarf mason declared between enthusiastic bites. "I've eaten stew my whole life and it never tasted like this!"

"The meat is so tender! And the vegetables actually have flavor instead of just being mushy!"

"What did you put in this? It tastes like... I don't even have words for it!"

The construction site transformed into an impromptu feast as everyone savored food that transcended their normal expectations.

Nero watched with satisfaction as his simple Earth cooking techniques created genuine delight.

'Food really is universal.'

The thought carried warmth as he observed his growing community bonding over a shared meal.

Aurelia approached with her own bowl, her usually stoic expression showing obvious appreciation.

"The chefs did well," she commented after her first taste.

"They're really talented. I just showed them some different approaches."

"... N-Nero."

The way she said his name without the title made him smile.

"The food is excellent… Please don't diminish your contribution."

*Smooch.*

He leaned over and kissed her cheek, making the divine warrior blush despite her attempts to maintain composure.

"Thanks, Aury."

Nearby, several summons observed the casual intimacy with varying reactions.

Some smiled warmly at the obvious affection.

Others looked away quickly, their own complicated feelings about their master creating confusion they weren't ready to examine.

The six former wives exchanged meaningful glances, their shared determination to prove their worth intensifying.

'He cares about all of us,' Frila thought. 'But we need to show we can contribute beyond just being here!'

Lunch concluded with satisfied sighs and empty bowls all around.

The chefs accepted praise with genuine humility, crediting Nero's instruction while already planning how to expand on what they'd learned.

"Tomorrow we'll try something called 'roasted vegetables with herb seasoning,'" Mira announced excitedly. "Master Nero mentioned it in passing and I'm dying to experiment!"

Construction resumed with renewed energy, full stomachs and high morale making the afternoon work fly by.

Day 3.

*Whoosh!*

A portal tore open without warning during the morning work briefing.

"I need you right now."
