Chapter 1888: Fifth Star Pt.2
Out of the four rank seven Star Devouring Silk talisman papers, Shang Xia ultimately succeeded in crafting two talismans.
After his successful second attempt at making the Reignition Talisman, he also succeeded on his third attempt.
With two consecutive successes, Shang Xia was thrilled. Noticing that his condition remained stable and his origin qi wasn't overly depleted, he took only a short rest before using the final sheet.
Unfortunately, perhaps due to his overexcitement, he applied too much force during the inscription runes, causing an imbalance that led to failure. Thankfully, the mishap didn't cause too much disturbance.
However, it became clear that his original plan of producing at least three Reignition Talismans would not be realized.
Helpless, Shang Xia decided to forgo further verification of the talisman and decided to just wing it. He would activate one during his attempt to breakthrough to the fifth star, and use the other however he had planned.
His cultivation had long since reached the peak of the fourth star of the Seven Star Realm. When he had been in seclusion, he had attempted to ignite the fifth star, but shockingly enough, he encountered repeated failures.
After a short moment of consideration, Shang Xia could roughly understand that it was likely due to his rapid advancement and lack of foundations.
In truth, if he had the patience to spend a few years refining the energy in his dantian to a state of perfection, he would easily ignite the fifth star. However, he couldn't afford to wait that long. The situation that was unfolding in the Chaotic Sea of Stars didn't allow him to cultivate passively and do everything step-by-step.
Not long ago, Kou Chongxue had once again sent word from the void where the Star Origin Dao Field was once located. The mirage-like vision emerging there had grown more vivid, and the space in that region had become increasingly fragile. The essence qi in the area was mutating.
Every sign pointed to the possibility that a celestial phenomenon similar to the Nebula Forbidden Region was about to emerge in the Heaven Observation Star Region.
Moreover, based on information compiled by Song Zhen in the 6th Starsea Market, similar phenomena were reportedly beginning to appear in various star regions of the Chaotic Sea of Stars, with some even fully formed before being discovered by the local Heavenly Fields.
Shockingly enough, even Youshang had relayed word from the Essence Du Heavenly Field. He mentioned that a cultivator who had once followed Yan Yu to the Essence Xing World, spoke about how Sage Yuan Ling actually became a mid-level Sage in a few decades because he had entered a hidden Celestial Phenomena and gained tremendous benefits.
Then there was the true body of the Star Origin Lord in the Four Essence Heavenly Field. He harbored great secrets and made no effort to hide his desire to absorb the Essence Luxuriant World to make a Five Essence Heavenly Field.
Of all the Sages Shang Xia knew, the Star Origin Lord was the only one he knew to have broken through to a high-level Sage.
With so many strange happenings and rapid advancement, Shang Xia needed to push to grow faster.
As day and night cycled endlessly, a bright moon hung high over Tongyou City. Countless stars, dimmed by the moonlight, flickered weakly in the night sky.
After a period of rest and recovery, Shang Xia fully recuperated from his exhaustion from crafting Reignition Talismans.
As the saying went... 'There's no better day than today'. Shang Xia decided not to waste any more time and attempt a breakthrough to the fifth star immediately.
Gathering all his origin qi back in his Big Dipper Star Origin, it eventually filled back up completely. Any additional origin qi started to fill the auxiliary stars in his dantian.
Soon, the first star lit up completely, followed by the second, third and fourth.
Throughout the process, the origin qi that filled his Big Dipper Star Origin started to circulate more rapidly. After fully igniting the fourth star, all remaining energy was directed by Shang Xia into the fifth star.
Emitting a faint glow that gradually brightened, the fifth star started catching up to the first four in terms of brightness.
However, after the fifth star was more than halfway lit, it started to show signs of faltering.
That was a familiar situation. Shang Xia had encountered it in several previous failed attempts to break through the fifth star.
Things were different this time. Shang Xia had two Reignition Talismans that had been filled with 30 percent of his origin qi.
Activating a Reignition Talisman, the energy that had been stored within surged into his dantian. There was no need for him to refine the energy either. It instantly fused with his Big Dipper Star Origin before flowing to the other stars.
Even though he had experienced it once before, Shang Xia still found the reintegration of his origin qi to be a wondrous sensation.
Unlike the last time, however, his dantian was already near saturation. The influx of more origin qi pushed the limits of his Big Dipper Star Origin. A surging wave of origin qi erupted from it, pushing through the first, second, third, and fourth star before reaching the fifth. The faltering light instantly stabilized.
That final surge was like the finishing touch, fully illuminating the fifth star. That instant, Shang Xia stepped into the fifth star of the Seven Star Realm!
Simultaneously, in the night sky above Tongyou City, the once-dim stars blazed brightly the instant Shang Xia lit the fifth star, even overwhelming the moonlight that illuminated the lands.
This celestial phenomenon immediately caught the attention of many strong cultivators in the city. Even though it was already late into the night, many cultivators who were in the Martial Dipper Realm or higher stepped outside to gaze at the unusual starry sky.
Even though he had broken through, it wasn't time to relax. The fifth star might have been lit, but Shang Xia couldn't cut off the flow of origin qi in his dantian. If that happened, he would fail to stabilize his cultivation and there was a possibility of regressing.
Fortunately, the Reignition Talisman held enough of his origin qi to sustain the process. Even accounting for minor losses when they fused into his dantian, the remaining energy was sufficient to fully stabilize the fifth star.
