Chapter 61: 61) Negotiate
Mystique started to walk towards Natasha with a smile on her face, believing she had already won.
"I didn't know your skin was this tough," said Natasha.
"I've adapted to your futile attempts at stopping me!" replied Mystique.
Natasha pumped her shotgun and shot at Mystique again, who simply got pushed back. Natasha then threw her shotgun down the hall near the elevator.
Mystique went for a punch, which Natasha easily dodged and countered. Mystique continued to throw a barrage of punches towards Natasha, who every time dodged her flimsy attempts, backing away each time.
Mystique picked up a nearby table and lobbed it towards Natasha, slamming her down to the ground. Mystique started to march towards Natasha, who quickly pulled out her pistol and started firing. This time, the bullets didn't even draw blood as they fell to the ground while Mystique smirked.
"Fuck sake!" muttered Natasha, done with life, as Mystique sat on top of Natasha.
Mystique went for a slam, and Natasha managed to move her head out of the way before slamming her hand into Mystique's neck. She grabbed hold of her neck while choking, and Natasha pulled her down, now placing her on top.
Mystique's legs fell to the ground as Natasha started to punch her in the face. Mystique used her legs to push Natasha away, sending her tumbling to the ground.
As Mystique continued to cough as she got to her feet, her blue skin slowly shifted back. Natasha also brought herself back to her feet and started to charge towards Mystique.
Mystique threw a punch, nervous and way too early, before seeing Natasha duck and just running past her, heading towards her shotgun. Mystique turned around, confused and perplexed, before starting to chase after her.
Natasha slid across the ground, picking up her shotgun, before lying down on her back, pointing the gun towards Mystique, and shooting. Natasha picked herself up and continued to shoot Mystique, who, after each BANG!, stepped backwards from the recoil.
"IT'S FUTILE!" screamed Mystique, grinning as the shells clinked on the ground, leaving no damage at all.
Natasha continued to shoot as Mystique's back banged against the doors of the elevator. "NOW!" she yelled, and the elevator doors quickly opened behind Mystique, who looked behind in surprise.
BANG!
Mystique recoiled backwards, but with her hands, she kept herself from falling through, her face desperate and scared.
BANG!
Mystique continued to keep herself from falling, her hands forming a dent in the elevator entrance as she sneered towards Natasha, who held an expressionless face.
BANG!
Mystique's grip couldn't hold on any longer as she fell through the elevator shaft, managing to hold a cable and stop herself from falling to the bottom. Natasha strode towards the entrance and looked down, holding the shotgun atop her neck.
"IF YOU LET ME LIVE, I'M SURE VULCAN CAN OFFER YOU A POSITION IN HIS NEW AND IMPROVED WORLD!" screamed Mystique.
Natasha took out her pistol and shot out a cable. The sound of the elevator slightly screeching echoed throughout.
"WE CAN NEGOTIATE; JUST LISTEN TO ME!" yelled Mystique, desperate.
Natasha shot out another cable, leaving three remaining.
"WHY WON'T YOU LISTEN?" pleaded Mystique as Natasha shot yet another cable with only two remaining.
Mystique changed her form into Steve Rogers: "WOULD YOU KILL THE ONLY PERSON THAT MATTERS TO YOU IN THIS WORLD? SHOW ME NATASHA HOW MUCH OF A MONSTER YOU ARE!" roared Mystique, her voice masquerading as Rogers.
Natasha laughed in response: "How are you so naive? If Rogers's actions ever went against the greater good, I would kill him in a heartbeat. Sure, we're friends now, but that is always open to change," she replied.
"YOU HEARTLESS WHORE!" yelled Mystique.
Natasha stayed silent, shooting the remaining cables as Mystique screamed before landing on the shaft floor, groaning in pain. Natasha backed away as the elevator fell down, followed by sparks, and slammed onto Mystique with a loud bang.
"Good work," radioed Steve, overjoyed.
"Report to the others that the spy has been neutralised," replied Natasha before taking a seat on an office chair and starting to relax.
BLACK BOLT
The sounds of gunfire roared throughout the street as a large pile of bullets rattled to the floor in front of Black Bolt, protected by a barrier. With a wave of his hand, an invisible barrier charged forward, slamming into the cars and armed men, taking them out.
Through the moving rubble, a man walked right through, completely naked and unfazed. Black Bolt, confused, fired a blast that seemed to go right through him, breaking the building wall behind the man.
"Who are you?" asked Black Bolt, curious and concerned.
"That's not the correct question; what you should be asking is what I do. There's no need for formalities on the battlefield," replied the man.
"Ok, then, what do you do?" asked Black Bolt.
"I'll humour you and tell you, I'm that confident you can't win. I can phase through a piece of matter I can see; is that answer satisfactory for you?" replied the man.
"How?" asked Black Bolt, curious.
"My left eye has been through multiple surgeries to be able to see molecules on a subatomic level, and my skin has been made to slide through even the smallest particles, including quarks. As your power is the manipulation of electrons, I have concluded that you can't touch me no matter what you do," stated the man.
"You can never be too sure in a fight; I will find a way to bypass your powers. You can be sure of that!" replied Black Bolt.
"Optimism isn't a show of strength or heroism; it's simply a delusion that you believe fills the gap between us, but you are simply misguided, and you will soon learn how the real world works. Spirit doesn't bring results," replied the man.
"What a sad life you must have lived," responded Black Bolt, getting into a stance.
"Use your actions to prove me wrong, not baseless words; mindless talking doesn't make it real," added the man, starting to walk towards Black Bolt.
