Speed Villian: Fugitive from the stars

Chapter 45: The vampire who met Kael-X

As Kael made his way toward the Fire Energy Beings' territory, the ground beneath him vibrated faintly — rhythmic pulses, like the distant heartbeat of battle. The sound of clashing energy waves echoed across the rocky expanse. He paused mid-step, his eyes narrowing. A fight… and a big one, he thought, a faint grin curling at the corner of his lips. Curiosity tugged at him, and he veered off course. The crackling sound of energy collisions grew sharper the closer he got until he stood atop a jagged ridge overlooking the chaos below.

Down there, five figures were locked in a fierce brawl — four against one. The lone figure stood his ground with desperate resilience, his body covered in gashes that oozed faint streams of crimson mist. That crimson wasn't ordinary blood — it shimmered faintly, rippling with energy. Kael recognized it immediately. Blood energy… and not a weak one at that. The man's eyes glowed faintly red, and sharp claws extended from his fingers, slicing through the air with bestial precision. But he was clearly losing. The other four surrounded him, each emitting ripples of sonic distortion — sound elementals. Every strike they unleashed was sharp, vibrating the very air, shattering rocks into dust.

Kael sighed lightly, then vanished from his spot. In a flicker of yellow lightning, he appeared in the center of the battle. A deafening blast of sonic energy surged toward him — and then… nothing. The sound vanished completely, the ripples dissolving into stillness. The four sound elementals froze, disbelief plastered across their faces. Their energy had simply been erased.

Kael glanced around lazily, brushing imaginary dust off his cloak. "Hey you," he called out to the lone fighter, his tone casual, almost playful. "Why are you making yourself suffer for no reason?" His voice carried effortlessly, calm amid the lingering tension.

The four sound users exchanged wary looks, assessing him silently. They didn't dare move just yet. Anyone who could nullify their coordinated attack so effortlessly was not someone to be provoked lightly.

Kael stepped closer to the wounded man, who was breathing heavily, claws trembling from exhaustion. "How did you expect to survive here while suppressing your strength?" Kael's gaze flicked over him with quiet understanding. "You're a vampire… aren't you?"

The man stiffened, his blood energy flaring faintly at being recognized. Kael continued, his tone almost lecturing. "Vampires — an evolved branch of blood energy beings. You thrive on blood essence. Even werewolves share the same origin, just with more beastly constitutions. Yet here you are, starving yourself in the middle of a fight." Kael tilted his head, amused. "You could've at least drained one of your enemies."

He sighed and held out his wrist casually. "Fine. Take mine."

The vampire's eyes widened, hesitant. His lips parted slightly, but he didn't move. There was both pride and fear in his gaze — the kind that comes from knowing how forbidden such an act could be.

Seeing that hesitation, Kael didn't wait. With a swift motion, he slit his wrist, crimson and golden energy mixing together, his blood radiating faint power. "Don't waste time," he said flatly, pressing his bleeding wrist against the vampire's mouth.

The vampire's body tensed, but instinct took over. His fangs sank in — and the moment Kael's blood touched his tongue, his body convulsed. Power rushed through him like wildfire. His veins glowed faintly with lightning traces, his crimson aura thickening, becoming heavier and sharper. Kael let it continue for a short while, then pulled his hand away. The wound sealed instantly, not even a drop left.

Kael turned his gaze toward the stunned enemies, who were still frozen in shock. They didn't know whether to fight or flee. "With my blood," Kael said calmly, brushing frost dust off his sleeve, "you should be able to finish this." He took a few steps away, hands in his pockets, his voice drifting behind him like a fading spark. "I'm off."

Behind him, a deep, bestial roar erupted. The vampire's eyes flared open, now a blinding red, and arcs of yellow lightning danced across his body. The air trembled under the sudden burst of energy. His claws gleamed brighter than before, charged with crackling voltage.

Kael didn't look back, but a small smirk tugged at his lips as he walked away, his cloak fluttering behind him. "Let's see how they handle a vampire charged with speedforce," he muttered under his breath. Moments later, the sound of chaos erupted again — but this time, it wasn't the vampire who was struggling.

The moment Kael vanished in a flash of yellow, the battlefield erupted again — but this time, the balance had shifted.

The four sound elementals surrounded the vampire once more, confident smirks twisting their faces. "You think that freak's blood will save you?" one sneered, his voice vibrating the air with lethal frequency. The vibration condensed into a spear of pure sound that pierced forward.

The vampire didn't dodge.

Instead, his body blurred — the sound spear shattered harmlessly as if it had struck a mirage. In the blink of an eye, he reappeared behind his attacker, one claw resting lazily on the man's neck. "Save me?" he murmured, his voice deeper, colder, and thrumming with new power. "No… it made me hungry."

Before the sound user could even scream, the vampire's claws slashed through the air — a faint streak of red and yellow. Blood spattered, then vanished instantly, evaporating under the pressure of the vampire's aura. The remaining three froze.

The vampire licked his claws, a faint, crazed grin forming. The veins on his neck pulsed with glowing lines of Speedforce energy, faint golden streaks weaving through his crimson aura. Every movement of his body now crackled — not with lightning, but with pure velocity essence, energy that warped space around him with each breath.

One of the sound users snapped out of his shock. "He's too fast! Synchronize!"

The three remaining fighters spread out in a perfect triangle formation. Their palms glowed as they unleashed coordinated shockwaves, the air trembling as the three frequencies aligned — creating a Sound Cage, a dome of sonic resonance that distorted everything within. Normally, even a master-level fighter would be crushed into pulp.

But before their combined attack could close in, the vampire simply vanished.

The cage collapsed inward — empty.

"Wha— where—"

A faint whisper tickled one of their ears: "Too slow."

Then, chaos.

The vampire appeared right in front of the man, his claws slicing upward with inhuman precision. A crimson arc cut through the air, and the sound user was launched backward, smashing through a rock wall. The vampire didn't pause — his figure flickered again, moving so fast he left streaks of gold and red across the field.

He reappeared behind the next opponent, landing a brutal kick that sent the man spinning midair, bones cracking audibly. A second later, his clawed hand plunged through the man's chest. The vampire's eyes gleamed, and as he pulled his hand free, the man's energy essence — his very sound vibration — was drained away, leaving his body limp and hollow.

The last two sound users panicked. They tried to amplify their frequencies to the limit, creating a deafening wave meant to disorient him, but the vampire had already adapted. He could see the vibration paths — every movement of air was slowed to his perception. To him, their attacks looked like sluggish ripples in still water.

He moved again.

The ground shattered where he once stood. In the blink of an eye, he appeared between them, one hand grabbing each of their faces. "Your voices annoy me," he whispered.

With a twist, he slammed both their heads together — a thunderous crack echoed, and the two fell limp, their sonic resonance fading like broken instruments.

The field went silent.

Only the vampire remained, standing amidst the debris, his chest rising and falling slowly. Speedforce energy still flickered around him — faint golden trails dancing in rhythm with his heartbeat. His fangs were stained crimson, his eyes glowing with an eerie calm.

He looked at his hands, flexing them slowly. "So this… is the power of his blood," he murmured, his tone both reverent and unsettled.

As the wind blew across the ravaged battlefield, his crimson aura began to settle. The golden streaks of Speedforce dimmed slightly, merging seamlessly with his blood energy — as if his very existence had evolved. He was no longer just a vampire. He was something new.

A hybrid. A predator that moved faster than sound itself.

He tilted his head up, staring at the empty sky where Kael had disappeared moments earlier. "Kael-X," he muttered, his lips curling into a smirk. "I don't know what you are… but that blood of yours… it's divine."

He turned and began walking away from the battlefield, his silhouette fading into the shadows — every step echoing like a heartbeat of time itself, a rhythm only those who touched the Speedforce could hear.

Far away, Kael, already nearing the fiery lands, smiled faintly. "Good," he murmured. "He survived."

And somewhere behind him, the vampire let out a faint chuckle. "Survived? No…" His eyes flashed gold and red. "I've awakened."
