Chapter 462: Meeting Discussion

"One month." Xia Yusheng decisively compressed the timeframe to one month, if what the Wang Family said was true, even one month seemed too long. "No, one week. You must finalize seventy percent of the entry list."

"Chairman!" Liu Sheng's troubled expression appeared quite comical on his square-faced visage.

"Is there a problem?" Xia Yusheng glanced at him obliquely. "You'd better hope for no chance of that seventy percent."

The secretary, with graceful strides, came to inform that the meeting room was ready, inviting Xia Yusheng to proceed, while Xiao Lin followed closely behind. Upon entering the circular meeting room, the sudden appearance of the two caused confusion among the attendees, yet Xia Yusheng offered no explanation and simply took his seat with this uncertainty lingering. Xiao Lin, however, leaned against the windowsill, basking in the afternoon sun, wishing for a cup of coffee at that moment.

Xia Yusheng scanned the room before settling his gaze on an empty seat. "Where is the Minister of Product Department now?"

No one answered; instead, there were exchanged glances. Not many could attend such a high-level meeting at the conference table aside from the financial director and the Minister of Commerce, also present were the ministers of Marketing, Public Relations, and Product Departments, along with two directors.

"Very well, I'm patient enough to wait, and you seem to have nothing else to do, right!" Xia Yusheng leaned closer into his chair, habitually crossing one leg over the other. He lit a cigarette and smoked in silence.

"Minister Xia and a few secretaries are out for lunch and haven't returned yet." Xia Yusheng's personal secretary sensibly gave a briefing on Xia Yuxuan's whereabouts, subtly adjusting the atmosphere in the room. "I will try to contact them now."

As the secretary passed by Xiao Lin's side, he requested a cup of black coffee to refresh himself.

"We are now facing a very critical decision regarding 'inone', and I need more of your input." Opening his mouth, Xia Yusheng spoke while the smoke gradually wrapped around his gaze.

"'inone's sales have always been exceptional in 'Rhein', I want to understand the reasoning behind the decision to retract their shelves?" questioned one of the directors with an arrogant tone. "The department store industry thrives on the high sales volumes of businesses like these, your impetuous decision to pull products from shelves and unilaterally terminate the contract with the other party seems overly authoritarian."

Xiao Lin gazed toward the voice, the person appeared to be around forty-five, their facial outline bore a resemblance to Xia Yusheng, presumably a collateral member of the Xia Family. Never seen at Xia Garden, hence disregarded, yet the perspective offered was intriguing, quite confrontational.

"Product sales indeed enhance our department store's performance, but regarding the products themselves, isn't there a need to handle them seriously? Everyone is well aware of 'Rhein's principle, 'inone' has encountered issues, and each attendee must be prepared to address them stringently. I only implemented relevant measures at crucial moments; otherwise, the consequences would be unimaginable. Perhaps next month, those present might need to purchase a talent report to find new employment."

"What issues might 'inone' have?"

Distributing the photocopied inspection report to each attendee, the secretary said, "Assurance of product quality determines whether merchants qualify for entry into 'Rhein'. I trust everyone understands this clearly!" Xia Yusheng entirely ignored the man's inquiry. "In your hands is an inspection report on 'inone', the final conclusions should be clear to you all. I believe I need not elaborate further. Today's meeting aims to discuss how to confront the Wang Family's allegations and threats, we..."

"Chairman, I represent our board with a query." The same man persisted as he tossed the inspection report on the table.

"Xia Junwei, what do you have to say?" Xia Yusheng, slightly irked, called by name, while others at the seats bowed their heads, except for Zhou Xinglin, the composed finance director sipping tea leisurely.

"Other than 'inone,' 'Rhein' also covers more than a dozen cosmetic companies, why is it only 'inone' undergoing quality inspection?"

Xiao Lin put down his cup and gave him a few more glances; this man possessed a certain logic in his considerations. Indeed, there was justification for the inquiry.

"Apologies for being late." Xia Yuxuan's timing was impeccable, arriving just as Xia Junwei expressed his doubts. Upon taking her seat, the secretary handed over the quality inspection report, and after briefly skimming through, she similarly placed the data on the table. "Our Product Department has strict review processes for all incoming merchants, under the submitted data, each product possesses an entry inspection report. We conduct individual assessments before permitting sales on 'Rhein'." Xia Yu addressed the issue directly upon arrival with relevant explanations. "This contains all 'inone's entry documentation into 'Rhein,' including the initially submitted entry inspection report."

This seems faultless, yet Xiao Lin felt there were numerous problems. During the withdrawal decision, Xia Yusheng didn't attach any through explanation, so how did newly arrived Xia Yuxuan clearly understand this was a product quality issue? And even brought all related materials over.

Perusing through the comprehensive materials provided by Xia Yuxuan, especially the product entry inspection report, Xia Yusheng examined them meticulously. 'inone's entry protocols were complete, leaving no loopholes, from a normal process perspective, there were no apparent issues.

"How did these materials end up with you when they're belong to the Commerce Department archives? Why are they with your Product Department? As I understand, Minister Liu from 'Rhein's Commerce Department had no prior knowledge of 'inone's entry."

"Oh? Is that so, Minister Liu?" Xia Yuxuan's gaze turned to Liu Sheng. "I requested verification from you at that time, merely providing you with a good merchant. The adoption right still rests with your Commerce Department for decisions."

Wiping away his sweat, Liu Sheng responded. "Yes! Yes!" He remained silent, only answering affirmatively.

"From the materials, it appears everything is in order, thus, I want to ask, where did this 'inone' quality inspection report originate? Moreover, there's no endorsement from any related unit; how are we to trust its authenticity? Perhaps someone intentionally framed 'inone,' this happens in the industry with competitive jealousy and slander occuring frequently." Xia Junwei snorted a few times. "For the Chairman to take such impulsive actions has led to this current scenario, has there been consideration for 'Rhein'? Moreover, on my way to the meeting, the other party already demanded reasonable explanations and will legally pursue compensation for any incurred losses." (To be continued.
