Chapter 400: You are much more flexible than your elder brother
"Oh! Where is the big brother now?" Xu Ce still held onto a glimmer of hope. Despite being so slim, he still hoped there might be a sliver of a chance that Lion could survive.
"Aren't you the Master who's said to surpass the Dragon Soul Military Advisor?" As if remembering he wasn't dressed, Lion began searching the room for clothes.
"The big brother's closet is next door!" Xu Ce led Lion from the right rear of the central pool to a room where clothes, shoes, bags, and accessories were neatly placed. Lion seemed to discover a new continent, taking out items one by one to have a look.
"Why isn't there anything black?" Lion asked a bit dissatisfied, completely unconcerned about being exposed. Xu Ce didn't respond and remained standing outside the door, pondering what he should do.
"I advise you not to think about running away."
Lion chose a dark blue garment, close to black, from the closet and put it on. "Just remember, I am Lion, your big brother, and that's it. This way, you all can live. I promise."
You promise! Xu Ce chuckled twice, questioning if Lion's word was reliable. He suddenly wanted to ask but didn't, not wanting to provoke this person.
"What exactly is your purpose?"
"You should ask me why I had to kill Lion." Xu Ce started wandering the thirty-second floor. It really was big. He was looking for his bed but didn't want the person behind him to tell him, as that would spoil the treasure hunt fun.
"The result of asking or not asking is the same. The big brother is dead, and we're not your opponents, so I just want to know what you will do to our Liger Gang."
Xu Ce wouldn't foolishly use his and his brothers' lives to deal with someone who couldn't possibly be an opponent. This person was a madman, and reasoning with a madman or going all out with them is true insanity.
"You are much smarter and more flexible than your big brother." Lion found a pathway to the bedroom in front of a floor-to-ceiling window, with just a bed inside and nothing else.
"You still haven't answered my question." Xu Ce chose to remain standing outside the door, not entering easily.
"What? Ah, what I plan to do with your Liger Gang, right?" Lion lay comfortably on the bed, which had just the right firmness. The quilt was soft and not irritating to the skin, and the pillow was memory foam. This old man really knew how to enjoy life, but enjoying life requires money.
"Are you here for money? For power? Or for someone's command?" Xu Ce guessed, not wanting to be led around in circles by this madman, who seemed to be deliberately going in circles with him.
"He chose death himself; I just helped him along." Lion lay on his side on the bed, resting a hand on his head, watching Xu Ce's constantly changing expressions with amusement.
"You..." Even the best temper can be provoked. Xu Ce was normally a gentleman who wouldn't show his emotions to anyone, but the person before him kept pushing his limits.
"Although the Liger Gang isn't your opponent, we have the advantage in numbers and terrain. Don't think you can easily kill them all. Even if they can't kill you, there are plenty to drag down with them."
"I have no interest in your Liger Gang." Noticing Xu Ce's anger, Lion put away his mischievous personality and sat up from the bed.
"What do you mean by killing the big brother?"
"He refused my proposal, and besides, even if I didn't kill him, he would die by someone else's hand anyway. I just want your Liger Gang to move to another place; I only wanted this place. He was stubborn, not my fault."
"You want the Western Suburb? Or the Liger Gang?" Xu Ce didn't understand but was sure this person was telling the truth. He didn't care about money, so what did he want?
"There's someone I'm waiting for here." Lion twisted his wrist, fiddling with his fingers. "I'm just borrowing your treasure land."
"Who is he?" Xu Ce's mind was racing. That person couldn't be someone sent by the Wang Family.
"Could it be..."
"Hmm, I came here to help you out of kindness. Who would've thought!" Lion turned over on the bed, displaying a forlorn expression. "So? Are you still going to expose me? I don't care."
Xu Ce didn't believe this person would be so kind, but it could be useful to use him to eliminate Xiao Lin.
"After you kill Xiao Lin, what do you plan for the Liger Gang?"
"Your boss is dead. Whoever takes the position has nothing to do with me, but the Liger Gang must move out of the Western Suburb, that's the condition."
"You're making things difficult for me." Moving the entire Liger Gang would be harder than climbing to the sky, not to mention that Lion was already dead, and it's not easy to establish a new leader.
"How you explain to them is your problem, whether to leave is up to you. Of course, if you think your lives are harder than the artillery, then stay here." Lion wrapped himself in the blanket, still dizzy from the previous smoke. "You can also go out now and announce that Lion is dead. The result doesn't make a difference to me."
Xu Ce turned and left. Nothing made a difference, but for the Liger Gang, the result would be huge. How should he choose?
It was absurd to make the entire Liger Gang pay for a doctor from a school hospital, but in fact, it was indeed this absurd for this madman to destroy the entire Liger Gang for this person.
Xu Ze found himself caught in a dilemma.
"Master?" Duan Wen was sitting in the laboratory, finding it peculiar that Xu Ce was still around so late. At this hour, he should be in bed.
"Where is Duan Li?" Xu Ce sat on one side, looking at the crawling poisonous creatures on the table, feeling nothing.
"Go find me new insects."
"If I said the big brother is already dead, would you believe me?" Xu Ce stared at a centipede, asking.
"Mm!" Duan Wen was a very gentle woman, at least outside of her interests. She calmly replied, "The current big brother is not the original one, which means our big brother is already dead."
"Why not expose it?" Xu Ce was quite surprised by Duan Wen's calmness.
"Because we want to live!"
Duan Wen's words pointed out the issue Xu Ce was grappling with and unable to determine. To survive, anything was possible, which was the simplest and most powerful answer.
"Thank you!" Xu Ce stood up, having realized what he needed to do. He returned to the thirty-second floor.
"Have you made up your mind?" The person who seemed to be asleep, with his back to him, spoke with an eerily strange tone in the dark night.
"When are we leaving?" Xu Ce asked.
"Once the performance is played out completely." (To be continued. If you like this work, you are welcome to come to Qidian (qidian.com) to cast recommendation tickets, monthly tickets; your support is my greatest motivation.)
