Chapter 349: My life is not worth as much as yours!
Xiao Lin wasn't very familiar with this assassin organization, but he had heard Night Eagle mention the hierarchical divisions. Every assassin who joins this organization leaves a mark on their body, and as your level rises, the pattern imprinted on you also changes. So for someone like Xiang Fei to reach such a level, she must have quite a few marks on her body!
"Where is he now?"
"He's still in the City Police Department," Wu Shuang replied.
"Got it, I'll handle this matter."
"Dead?" In a dark corner of a bar, a slightly hoarse voice repeated the information that had just been relayed to him from across the table.
"The person who died was an old hand in the organization. How could he be discovered so easily? Are you sure the other person is just a doctor?" Clearly, the man sitting opposite was skeptical of the information he was receiving.
"It's a doctor, for sure."
"Look at this!" The man took out his phone and played a video: "Can an ordinary school doctor have such skills, climb to the second floor with ease, rescue a woman, and then land gracefully?" His inquiry was laced with a hint of sarcasm: "The people we've found aren't his match."
The hoarse-voiced man seemed shocked by the video and rubbed his chin: "This person needs to be eliminated!"
"Then add more to the bet, the current price won't find anyone better than that dead man." Retracting his phone, the man lit a cigarette.
The bar was noisy, with a woman on stage dancing around a pole, her long legs flashing by in front of their eyes, stirring men's desires. The man squinted at the woman on stage, smacking his lips: "The women here are really luscious!"
"You have a heavy taste!" The hoarse-voiced man pulled down the brim of his hat, as if afraid of being recognized, checking around cautiously: "How much are you planning to add?"
The man's gaze remained on the woman in the blue leather outfit on stage, extending a hand: "Can't be less than this amount."
"Damn, you're taking advantage of the situation." The intentionally lowered voice sounded even more strangely hoarse in anger, as he grabbed the other man's collar and pulled him close: "Don't forget, we're in the same boat."
"I don't care, my life's worthless, unlike yours which is valuable. Besides, I'm already a dead man, and you're still on the wanted list in the police department. When things get heated, who's really at a disadvantage?" The brute seemed unworried by the other's aggression, patting the hand grabbing his collar: "Let go, you're too old to be so impulsive."
"If that kid isn't dealt with, neither of us will have a good outcome." The man with the hat let go of his grip, glancing around again at the moving figures nearby. Even though they chose a secluded spot in the bar, they couldn't block the stream of people. This place was indeed buzzing.
Nearby, a group was having a wild time, with a woman already stripped of her top, practically wearing nothing but a sheer halter top, constantly swinging her jacket.
"Women like these, pay enough, and you can have your fun any way you want."
The man across reluctantly diverted his gaze from the stage to the girl and sneered: "You should lay off that woman."
"Why? Think I can't handle it?"
"Not that, but weren't you once quite the savvy one?" Still full of sarcasm, the man's cigarette burned to its end, taking a few more drags before stubbing it out in an ashtray: "This girl is part of the Fei Feng Gang! They're running the show here with backing, so you'd best not stir up trouble."
"Fei Feng Gang?" Seemingly unfamiliar with the term, the man couldn't help but glance again at the woman who had seated herself; there were other guys and girls around her, none older than twenty-four.
"So? Old Zhang, this amount can't be any less." The man across suddenly switched the topic back on track. Once men start talking about women, it never ends, and neither of them could afford to stay put too long. Not fearing accidents, but fearful of the unexpected.
"Keep in mind they've frozen my bank accounts, where else am I supposed to get the cash for you?" At this point, the man's voice rose: "Besides, the people you brought in were unreliable, and all the money I sunk in went down the drain."
"Now it's all about having money to do things!"
